We are lucky to be able to walk over beautiful Clent to this restaurant and enjoy a drink outside before we eat. My husband likes their madras curry as it is a "proper" one. Staff are welcoming. Would prefer to take our own wine though.

I’ve just returned with my family from the Red Lion in Bobbington. And I’m not impressed. Firstly the food which was distinctly below average. My beef stroganoff had clearly been warmed up in the microwave, and not enough as it was just about warm enough to eat but not piping hot. The meat was tough, the rice was stale and dry and the mushrooms and sauce were watery. My wife had the rib-eye which was meant to be cooked rare; it was cooked medium at best. The chips were basically oven chips and had also just been warmed up. The kids had lasagna and chicken nuggets, again much the same. The service was mixed – the two waitresses did fine, but the manager landlord verged on being rude. As we arrived at the pub, he barged through the door in-between the kids and me, clearly in a hurry to deal with something else. I waited at the unattended bar for over 5 minutes before he returned to serve some drinks. The price was extortionate for what we got – just over 70 quid for 4 main courses, a few drinks and some side orders – all of the food was really up to microwave ready meal standard. My recommendation is to go to the Kingswinford Harvester instead – a few nights ago we got a similar sort of family meal. It was nothing special, but the food was all fresh, cooked well and the bill was about a tenner less.

We have been regulars at this restaurant for many years and have never been disappointed. The menu offers a range of dishes to cater for most tastes, from the mild korma to the hotter madras, their dishes are just amazing with a delicious blend of flavours. I have sampled many dishes and would recommend them all. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed, a small bar greets you where you can enjoy a drink while browsing the menu before going to your table. You will always get a warm welcome from a very friendly staff.

Food:- Absolutely amazing, I would give this 5 out of 5, if you are not keen on a lot of spice etc, they will alter all meals for your taste. Their meals are full of flavour, with plenty of everything e.g meat and sauce. There is just the right amount of choice on the menu. We did not have to await ages for our meals, though they actually ask if you are ready for your next course, we ordered our starters and if you like they will come after that to order your main. The staff are always friendly and make you feel at home. I would definitely advise anyone looking for a decent Indian meal to try out this restaurant.

Mediocre service, ignorant manager. Rather quality of food, on a par with (some) motorway service stations. One to avoid. Very lax
