Best fish and chips,friendly service
Charlos – SwanseaThe best Thai in Swansea with out a doubt ! My partner and I have been to Bayview about a dozen times and the service and food is always 10/10. Love the Thai Fish Cakes, Sweetcorn Cakes, Pad Ki Mao and the chef does daily specials as well. Can't wait to go back
Bay View Bar and Thai Dining, The – SwanseaNice little find!. Cosy little place overlooking the gorgeous Swansea Bay. Good quality, very reasonably priced Thai food which, having been many times to the far east, is pretty spot on (if a little less spicy - although you can augment your own by asking for prig nam pla). The bonus is they have a good selection of real ales and top continental lagers like Leffe. Just take it easy though it's 6.6%!.
Bay View Bar and Thai Dining, The – SwanseaEat in the bar for the best atmosphere. Expect superior pub grub in choice, quality and service rather than a dining experience. But the food is good and the service friendly. The setting affords views in a peaceful rural location.
King Arthur Hotel – SwanseaAfter having lunch there last week which was great, i went back last night for the evening meal. It was lovely staff were friendly and able to recommend a meal for my partner to eat. Great atmosphere and food was delicious. My bill came to £58 which included two starters, two main courses, a bottle of house wine which were £11.50 each and a couple of shorts at the end of the evening.
Mamma Mia – SwanseaGood food we go there a lot, lots of choice but I must say the food is very nice and its fresh.
Toby Cavery Killay – Swanseafantastic meal and at a reasonable price, highly recommend a visit.
Ship and Castle, The – SwanseaHad a meal last night for our anniversary. Can't praise food highly enough. As good as anything you could get in Italy. Excellent service. A wonderful experience. Visit this restaurant, you won't be sorry.
Mamma Mia – Swanseawouldn't use again. use to think the place is fab. now they refuse to serve you if you are with people who have kids... even though they serve others in there with kids and they do have a licence to have kids on the premises so long as they are with an adult
Queens Hotel, The – SwanseaTo sum this pub up as a short review is easy - don't go there even if you are about to drop dead from hunger. Ok - Now for the explanation... My partner and I were staying at a nearby campsite (Three Cliffs - HIGHLY recommended) and decided on our first night to walk to the nearest pub for some dinner after a long drive. On getting to the pub at 8.40pm the bar manager (I assume as she was barking at all of the other staff) very abruptly told me that I needed to queue for the bar at that I wouldn't be served just walking up to the bar (there were 2girls being served at the time and nobody else in sight!). I politely smiled and went ans stood behind the girls who spent ages deciding whether or not they wanted a 'white wine or white wine spritser'. After waiting for a good 5min while they decided what they wanted another couple came into the bar, walked stright up and got served by another bar person and were ordered and gone well before I got a look in. When I finally reached the front of the (oh so massive) 'que' I ordered our drinks (to which I got no acknowledgement at all) and thepicked up the menu. When the bar manager saw me pick up the menu she very bluntly told me that I was too late for food and that they stopped serving 5min ago (bearing in mind that I had been waiting for well over 5min to be served!) I got the distinct impression that this lady didn't want me in her pub and so my partner and I, a little dejected) decided to go outside to drink our drink, rather than sit with this lady in sight. As we left the bar manager told another staff member to "tell the girls we're stopping serving food now" When outside we happened to see a large sign advertising that they served food until 9pm (by now it was 8.55pm) and so we decidedd to go inside and take the matter up with the bar manager. Again she was extremely rude and abrupt and told us that there was "nothing she could do about it" and that 'Technically' they were still serving food as people already eating were being bought their courses. Not being happy with the response that we got we asked to speak to the manager and were told that she wasn't available until much later (full stop). We informed the lovely manager that we'd wait outside for the manager while we continued to drink our drinks, but shock upon shocks the manager never came. We did get a rather timid young bar maid come out to us at 9.45pm who told us that the manager had sent her out to say that if we did want to order something we could. We politely thanked the petrified bar girl and told her that we appreviated that she had been sent out to do the bar managers dirty work but that we'd rather go hungry than spend any more money at their pub. Now you could put this down to one bad day with one grumpy bar manager, but from talking with other people at the campsite, including the staff there, it seems our experience wasn't an isolated one. So, my advice - don't go there and instead go for a short drive and head for The King Arthur pub slightly down the road.
Gower Inn – SwanseaThe worst restaurant I have ever eaten in. Just because you are Italian does not mean you can cook Italian Food. The AntiPasta meats were dried and crisp and served on top of 2 baked bean cans. The Risotto looked like a plate of baby's sick. There was no texture to the Risotto it was a congealed mess. Don't waste your money, your better off going to Pizza Express! Its cheaper and at least you know what your getting!!
Mamma Mia – Swanseai had my wedding reception in the function room here, the layout was lovely, the food was outstanding and service second to none, i would highly recommend anybody with a function to use this service the price was very reasonable and should of cost a lot more considering the quality. thank you very much to all at the cross keys.
Cross Keys Inn – SwanseaBest italian restaurant in Swansea. The atmosphere is just amazing and the food like you only find in Italy.Simply amazing.Antipasti from their meat counter freshly sliced are to die for .
Mamma Mia – SwanseaThey obviously didn't want me there. I had a beer on the table in 4 mins, dinner in under 10! The bread that came to the table consisted of two very soggy pieces in a basket with a greasy crumpled serviette. The bill was on the table in 14 mins, I left a minute later! My previous meal was in a pub in Leicester, Confit of Duck, black pudding, roast potatoes and an apple sauce. A million times better, at half the price! Guess they judge customers by appearence, and serve accordingly. Trouble is, I'm used to good restaurants, but if going to a rugby match, I dress for it and travel light If in Leicester, try The Pub, The Bootroom, or Casa Romana. If in Swansea avoid Mamma Mia!
Mamma Mia – SwanseaWhat a great find, authentic italian food and reasonably priced, will definitely return there... :-)
