Amigos The Mexican – UlverstonStopped there by chance on a Saturday evening, all tables booked but two so we got there in time (before 7pm). The food was fantastic, I was delighted to see the Specials Board menu was full of game dishes (pheasant, game pie, venison steaks, etc). The staff were very pleasant and cheerful. Will definitely try and come back there when we are in the lakes again! I noticed they also had a good choice of vegetarian dishes.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonWith regular visits to the Lakes over a number of years, I've eaten in a lot places and can honestly say the food at the Ship Inn is outstanding and by far the best place for home cooked food. Together with the relaxing atmosphere and the excellent service provided by the staff, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Ship to all. It is a must for good food lovers!
The Ship Inn – Ulverstonwe came to amigos for a quiet Saturday night meal - and we were not disappointed.despite having booked we arrived late - no problem. we choose a quiet corner where the 5 of us sat with loads of space to lounge. we decided to eat where we sat (cellar bar) rather than go upstairs, again - no problem. the staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. for starters we shared two combos, excellent beginning for what was to follow in between we shared various iced cocktails. the mains were gorgeous; chili prawns, enchiladas and mine, which i think was the best, seafood burritos a fantastic medley of seafood and rice mixed in a wrap with an eye catching mouth watering salad - as you have probably guessed by now, a very impressive and enjoyable meal er - no - experience!!
Amigos The Mexican – UlverstonWe ate here for my birthday after hearing such good stories about the food. Absolutely lovely - both the food and the staff. We will definitely be going again!!
Taste Of Balti – UlverstonI would definitely recommend this restaurant for both small parties and large. I recently had my 21st birthday and a group of 9 of us attended. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the food was incredible, not one of my party was disappointed! It was hard to choose off the menu as it all sounded so tempting but in the end i went for the Calabaza, and this is a dish i would strongly recommend. Overall it was the best meal out i have had for a long time and both me and my party would like to thank you for a wonderful meal!
Amigos The Mexican – UlverstonGreat food , friendly locals and attentive staff. Will be back again.Highly recommended and a great evening had by all.
The Ship Inn – UlverstonThere's no where I'd rather go to unwind - the open fire warms the atmosphere as much as the conversation with the Ship's regulars. The joys of returning after a day walking the office cobwebs out of your hair to a home cooked meal, wine to sink into and ale to savour. Thanks to you all!
The Ship Inn – UlverstonMyself and two friends ate recently at Amigos. Overall was impressed. Only complaint was that cellar bar was quite cold and when I asked for tortilla chips to start with they were brought with the main meal instead of as a starter. Would definitely eat there again.
Amigos The Mexican – UlverstonAnyone who has had a meal at the Ship in Bardsea will return. Its well worth a visit for the food, and you also get a top class service! I would recommend it anytime.Bill Hobson.
The Ship Inn – Ulverstonwe use the ship on a regular basis !! you always know your going to have a good night whether its one of Pauls fresh fish dishes or Gwens famous steak and ale pie nothing ever disappoints there's always a friendly welcome from everyone there ! Don't miss the theme nights last times Mexican night was a riot !!!
The Ship Inn – Ulverstonbest steak and ale pie we have ever tasted (and we've tried quite a few!)
The Ship Inn – UlverstonFantastic food. Good atmosphere. Landlord very welcoming, as were the staff. Look forward to seeing them again.
Eagles Head – UlverstonWonderful pub. Stayed the night and was made welcome by the regulars - The Ship became my local for the night! Conversation ranged from onion-growing to football. Comfortable room, great real ale, great food, great hosts. Can't praise The Ship highly enough.
The Ship Inn – Ulverstonwe highly recommend the ship inn at bardsea, we stopped for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the friendly warm atmosphere. The food was excellent and the staff professional, this is a real country pub and we will be returning
The Ship Inn – UlverstonMy friend and I ate here in June but had mixed feelings about our Rossini experience. The mixed starter was very nice, especially the pate. Our main courses weren't that good however. My steak was quite fatty and my friend's chicken dish was mediocre. The service could have been better, it was a quiet week night and the restaurant was less than half full but it took about 25 mins to get the second glass of wine we ordered. To sum up it was OK but could have been better.
Ristorante Rossini – UlverstonOne of my favourite cafes in Ulverston. The best coffee in town, lovely cakes, and the sandwiches are fantastic. Last time I was in the cafe I had a stilton and pear sandwich. Delicious and the bread is to die for. My friend loved here pork and apple sandwich as well.
Sting in the Tail – UlverstonBeautiful setting and fantastic service cheese/meat board superb. we went for a friends birthday and had a £30 voucher, thank god we did as the £102.00 bill was double what I would of liked to pay for the standard of the food. We eat a lot as a couple and a family at the Duke of Edinburgh in Barrow which is the sister pub of the Mill , this place needs a few lessons from them guys. Lots of potential people but the second time we have give you a try and come away saying "close but no star". Keep trying...
The Mill At Ulverston – Ulverston2 courses for £24 (roast and pudding).
