Kings Arms – UlverstonWent for lunch on Sunday, food was very good all being abit cold, but was very tasty. We did have to wait over an hour for our food. There was also a dog which came from upstairs that kept escaping into the bar, which wasn’t a problem, the problem was the way it was caught and dragged by its collar and thrown upstairs, several times. I felt very un comfortable with this so we left.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonWent for Mother's Day... food was great, staff were friendly, however service was slow, seemed they were understaffed. Was no table service for drinks, and the drinks were flat. Didn't get dessert as the wait was so long. Would definitely try again in the future to see if service has improved as could not fault the food.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonCame to eat with a group of old college friends. We all had a variety of Thai, pie and curry....everyone of us were really impressed with how delicious the food was, great portion size and fantastic value for money. The staff were friendly and goof fun to chat to aswel. We absolutely will be back again soon. Thankyouuuuuuuu :)
Kings Arms – UlverstonThe food was great! The staff were lovely. The starters were full of flavour and had a good amount to them. The Thai chilli sauce had a good balance of sweetness and spiciness. The mains were thoroughly enjoyed by all for both the English pub mains and Thai food. The only downside we had was a very rowdy group of people who fortunately left part way through the meal
Kings Arms – UlverstonWhat a wonderful Thai. I have eaten here on 4-5 occasions over the last 4 months and each time our entire party has marvelled at the quality of the food. Simply lovely.
Kings Arms – UlverstonEnjoyed a great meal last night. Delicious authentic recipes. We shall be back for more. Many thanks x
Kings Arms – UlverstonBooked a table for a meal 4 weeks in advance (as this was for Boxing Day) and received confirmation. Also received a reminder of the booking 2 days beforehand which gave a lot of confidence. Turned up at the correct time only to find that the restaurant wasn’t open that day. Staff apologised but were somewhat offhand about it saying “well the pub over the road does food”. Have since found out from reading other reviews that this is not a one off occurrence. To add insult to injury I then received a request to write a review of my non existent dining experience. I realise that the responses I received are computer generated but it is surely not beyond the wit of man to modify the replies for periods that food is not served. I would suggest that anyone considering dining here ring up beforehand just to make sure.
Kings Arms – UlverstonAmazing food and great service. Definitely recommend and we will be returning.
Kings Arms – UlverstonDespite several emails to the pub confirming my booking and providing a pre order, when my friends arrived they were told there was no booking or pre order received. They were given no cutlery and had to wait ten minutes for it, and were not asked if they wanted to order drinks. This shows an atrocious level of customer service in a venue which is being mis managed with faulty procedures in place.
Kings Arms – UlverstonAnother uber-delicious Thai meal by Bea !
Kings Arms – UlverstonExcellent food on a Thsi evening and good service. Only let down was the poor availability of alcohol free beer, was only 1 bottle in the whole pub!
Kings Arms – UlverstonGreat meal out with friends at the Big Kings last night. Excellent food and excellent company! Bea’s Thai never fails to impress - big portions too (should probably have skipped the starter and just had a main). Delicious.
Kings Arms – UlverstonFood lovely. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. Would highly recommend. However, if it was a desert you were hoping for the chef had left before so couldn't have one.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonLovely roaring fire, friendly welcome on Saturday evening. The steak pie & mussels were delicious & big portions. Fish & Chips also delicious, but a few extra chips would have been great. Sticky toffee pudding was scrumptious. The young lad serving was really helpful
General Burgoyne – UlverstonFood was excellent. 2 of us had the burger 3 had the Thai food. Very tasty. The service was slow and we had to ask at the bar to order. We would have stayed after the meal but the loud pointless music playing spoiled the atmosphere.
Kings Arms – UlverstonDisappointed. Booked for a Sunday roast. Menu states chicken, beef and pork offered. When we arrived, we were told there was no beef left and chicken wasn’t even an option. Reluctantly stayed (it was after 6pm and we couldn’t get a table anywhere else). One of us ordered the burger, which cost £15 and was literally a burger, some cheese a bun and a few fries. No lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Service was also poor. No one asked us if we wanted any sauces, or checked if our food was okay. It’s a shame - this is our local and we used to visit regularly. I’d like to say this is the first time this has happened. But unfortunately it has gone downhill in recent months.
General Burgoyne – Ulverston2 for £12 on pizzas or garlic breads. Available 5pm-9pm every Monday.
