What can I say, for the last twelve months, we have been eating here every weekend and we are still eating here. If that's not a recommendation I don't know what is.

Lovely meal, relaxed atmosphere

Have used this pub for years, serious value for pub grub, always good, staff friendly, had Xmas dinner there last year too. My favourite pub.

Staff made you very welcome and very helpful food was ok but menu needs to be updated would eat there again but would like bit more choice and a few different things on the menu.

Very good food and was socially distancing well. All staff were wearing masks when they came near us which kept us safe. Food was brilliant and came out quickly. We will definitely be booking again.

Arrived and staff very welcoming. Ordered food from an extensive menu, which I first thought was expensive. Then the food arrived. Big piece of chicken, which was cooked lovely, and tasted great. Then we had pudding which was lovely. Overall a great meal and friendly, polite staff.

Hand sanitizer available at entry. A warm welcome upon entering the restaurant, taken to our seat. Service was good, didn't have to wait long for food(this was on a Friday night). We had a selection of tapas followed by minted pork chops and fajitas. All piping hot. Excellent all round.

Went here in the week for a couple of meals with family. The food was lovely, the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The pub is very clean inside and out. It offers great value for money. Overall a very enjoyable experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

I booked a table here on Wednesday the second of September. I was talking with a friend about grabbing food and he immediately said this place was great. I can honestly say I've never felt more like my parents. The level of disappointment is incomprehensible. The steak tasted like water, the pork was as tough as a 60's porn stars labia and the lamb chop.... less said the better. I could have dealt with the food not being the best as the lady serving us was lovely, but the level of bluebottle flies in the restaurant felt biblical. I felt like I was at a disco my arms were moving so much trying to get them away from me. Overall it wasnt the best experience, but I will say the staff were lovely.

Went there for lunch on 2nd September and food was excellent and service good. Took names on entry and serving staff wore masks. Had a minor issue of a few flies around the place but its a more rural place so expect that.

Lovely food

Had an excellent meal at The Old Smithy with my husband and son. Starters, main course, dessert and Irish coffees were lovely. Staff were polite and efficient, checking we were happy with our meal. Thank you

Lovely food and great service once again, the staff were a little busy, which was to be expected as we went on a "eat out to help out" night. Tom even had time to come over and talk which is always good conversation. #supportyourlocal #appreciatethestaff

I’m afraid my review is as bad as all the others. Booked a table for Sunday at 4pm, just for drinks. Wasn’t asked if we wanted indoor or outside but we’re put outside. It was very cold out there, we asked to out the heaters on but was told they weren’t working. It was like a crèche outside with kids screaming and running riot, no social distancing . We used the app to order our drinks which took 30 mins to come, very small choice of gin which I was very surprised and disappointed with. Won’t be rushing back there in a hurry !!!

The meal we had was amazing really enjoyed it The service was good even though they were rushed off their feet We will definitely go back again

I went here on the last Eat out to help out night. The staff did not seem flustered by how busy it was, the wait for food was not long at all and the price was amazing. It was a really nice atmosphere, the place appeared clean and the staff helpful. A really nice pub to go to and really good pub grub :D
