Bombay Tandoori Restaurant – Leamington SpaDining experience Saturday 23rd march 2008: now managed by the chap from the Malt Shovel in Barston & a website with great customer feedback should have been a precursor to great things but what a terrible experience. Seated promptly but then had to wait 15 minutes for drinks to be served and then another 15 minutes to have our food order taken. Waitress displayed no knowledge of the menu or specials (more of that later)or experience in serving customers. Starters arrived spasmodically and due to the wait were swiftly eaten. Another 20 minutes and the mains finally arrive with one being completely the wrong dish and cold. The other was simply a pork chop (over cooked) with red onions - no vegetables/potatoes. When question I was advised that the menu tells you what you get, so no input from waiting staff is required to "up sell" the extras. Wrong dish was replaced and removed from bill. We were actually served by four different waiting staff including the manager which took a total of two and half hours for 2 people. Weird thing was the four people sitting next to us were wined, dined a eating pudding in an hour and a half, while we struggled to get a second round of drinks between courses - perhaps they telephoned their order beforehand! I was assured that the service would improve on my next visit - we will see. Food - borderline pedestrian, Service - risible = 2/10
The Cross At Kenilworth – KenilworthGreat restaurant with great food, the dodgy music could do with changing but that's the only slight negative I could find... Enjoy!
Peppers Indian Cuisine – StudleySince writing my original review back in 2005 the restaurant has been refurbished but still retains all of it's charms, now with addition of a first floor gallery, yet the prices haven't gone up, the service is still impeccable and the food is still the best you will taste anywhere outside Bradford. The take aways are still as good as the eat-ins. Most of all and thankfully the music still goes bong bong pip!
Arden Tandoori – Henley in ArdenWhat an excellent place to dine. Very good menus, with good choices. Friendly staff with every attention to detail. Will visit again.
Matricardis – Henley in Arden"Alan", to his regulars, offers an excellent menu and great service. People from all over the county visit Bidford just for the Balti Hut. Careful you do not get the wrong restaurant, there are two balti restaurants in the village. Anyway, if you book in advance on certain days you will also get a complimentary bottle of wine, (not rubbish but ok). The food is just great, and if there is something not on the menu ask and they will always try their hardest to meet your needs. Start the evening with a drink at the Frog & Bullrush (opposite) whilst sitting on the banks of the river Avon, looking at the old bridge and the park. Then pop over the road for great food and a very friendly atmosphere in one of the top Balti restaurants in the area
Balti Hut – AlcesterIn my opinion I think this restaurant was one of the best restaurants I've visited in the UK, I haven? been to any better!!! The food was scrumptious, the waiters were very polite and helpful and the experience was very good.
Arden Tandoori – Henley in ArdenWe eat here every now and then when we are in the area. We love this restaurant. The food is consistently good, and the service cant be faulted. Service always with a smile! Very reasonable prices.
Peppers Indian Cuisine – StudleyThis is the BEST curry that I have ever eaten. It beats any curry house in Birmingham hands down. The food is of such an exceptional standard. I am sure that I have eaten in nearly all the curry houses in Birmingham only to be constantly disappointed but Arden Tandoori is just fabulous.
Arden Tandoori – Henley in ArdenGood food, surroundings, excellent service, will visit again
Winged Spur – Henley in ArdenFriendly atmosphere, relaxed surroundings, altogether a very pleasant evening, excellent service, what more could you ask for . Ideal for special occasion's and family celebration's.
Boot Out and Out – StudleyThis is the traditional "English" Indian restaurant with excellent authentic meals at outstanding value, and excellent range of dishes to cater for all tastes and special parties aswell. Superb and very courteous service, stunning mock decor and that wonderful wailing bong, bong, pip music in the background. They also do superb takeaways to eat at home. This is not a new style trendy & pricey Indian bistro. Long may it remain. Tim
