La Casa Locos – RugbyNice restaurant, good food, although the portions not huge. Worth going on an offers night rather than paying full price
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – KenilworthThis is definitely the best restaurant in warwick, with outstanding value for money, and a kitchen that really knows how to cook. Maybe warwickshire deserves another Michelin star.
Tailors Restaurant – WarwickWe have just returned from a meal at the almanack most disappointed, not because of the food, but because of the terrible manners of the manager. The restaurant itself is lovely, beautifully decorated and welcoming. The waitress who served us was also very polite and pleasant. We had a voucher which entitled us to a starter and main course for £12.50 each which we felt was a great offer. We looked at the menu and saw that the starters were available in large or small and this obviously effected the price of the starter. However, nothing was mentioned in the small print on the voucher about whether or not opting for a large starter would mean that we were unable to take advantage of the promotion. therefore, we clarified this with our waitress. she told us that we could have a large starter as this would still comply with the promotion. Therefore my partner ordered a large starter and a main. She returned to tell us that his choice of main had ran out so he made another choice. This had also ran out so he settled for his third choice! The food was of great quality, I had opted for the roast beef and it was very tender if not a little undercooked for my taste. However we were happy with the food and surroundings and said that we would happily recommend the restaurant to our friends. Then the bill arrived. The promotion said that we had 2 courses for 12.50 each, therefore the bill sould according to my calculation have amounted to £25.00 plus the price of our drinks which was £6.60, a total of £31.60. The bill however stated that we owed 36.60 so we had obviously been charged extra for the large starter. As the waitress had told us that this wouldn't be the case, we queried the bill. She went and spoke to the manager who came over to us. We explained to him the situation and he rolled his eyes and said "You ordered the large starter so its reflected in the price" we explained that we had been told by the waitress that we would not be charged extra and he said "But it's quite self explanatory in the menu" As i have already mentioned there was nothing in the terms and conditions which made this explicit. We said this and he snatched the bill from my boyfriends hand and stormed off to the till. We were disgusted and shocked. I went to the bar as I was so embarrassed by what he had done in front of other diners. I said to him we would just pay what we owed as we wanted to leave immediately. I told him that he was so rude and a disgrace to the restaurant. He argued and said that he was not rude and he wanted to get the version of events from his staff. He snatched my money from my hands and gave me my correct change. I would not dine at this establishment again because of his terrible hostility and manners. What a shame as the restaurant really is a lovely place to dine for a special occasion. I will not be recommending this place to anyone, as I left feeling insulted and humiliated.
The Almanack – KenilworthThe kings head has just been taken over buy new management and they've done a great job. It has a warm friendly atmosphere and great food.
The Kings Head – Southamfood was great. staff were very nice and helpful. menu is decently priced. would recommend to all. would go there again and again
Agra Palace – NuneatonWe went to the Stag & Pheasant for Sunday dinner this week, we had a party of 12 & didn't know if they would be able to accommodate all of us in one sitting at such short notice. I have to say the service of the staff was second to none, they rearranged the seating for us to all sit together, when the food arrived we were all gobsmacked at the size!!. It was lovely all fresh ingredients none of that prepacked rubbish you get at some places, well recommended. We will definitely be going again and ive booked up for next month.
Stag And Pheasant Inn – NuneatonThe Curzon Arms is under new management, i popped in there for a meal on my way back to Nuneaton after a long day out in Burton. The carvery was very good and i shall not hesitate to return the staff were very polite and helpful.
Curzon Arms Hotel – AtherstoneI visited The Bowling Green in Southam one Saturday evening, and found the food very good, and at a price that would suit anybodies budget. They do a Carvery each Sunday too, which I will most definitely try one weekend. All in all an excellent place to eat with very pleasant staff, and polite waitresses.
The Bowling Green – SouthamExcellent, reasonably priced pub food. Great family run service. Lovely sunny garden too.
The New Inn – Leamington SpaSorrento Restaurant in Stratford upon Avon is a little gem. We found this lovely restaurant just off the High St in the Town centre. The food is all cook fresh as you can tell by the beautiful aroma coming from the kitchen. I had the calves liver which just melted in my mouth. My partner had scallops and king prawns in garlic butter. everything is presented with a smile from the efficient waiting staff. We sat in the garden for coffee. I would recommend to anyone wanting good food in a beautiful restaurant at a realistic price. *****
Sorrento Restaurant A Taste of Italy – Stratford Upon AvonThe Arnold has had a fair few changes of landlord over recent years however the restaurant itself is comfortable, clean and the table/seating arrangement is good as you don't find yourself sitting 'on top of' other diners. The food, traditional pub grub mainly and usually a Sunday carvery, has ranged from fair to very good - it depends on who the landlord/chef has been at the time. There is no food available at present as the pub is being run temporarily by the head barman (following the sudden departure of the previous landlords) who knows the job and the regulars inside out. I can't praise him highly enough for his knowledge of the job, his service, and his unfailing cheerfulness and politeness. He is also a font of knowledge and comes in very useful when you are stuck on the last two clues when doing the crossword in one of the many daily papers provided by the pub!
The Arnold Arms – RugbyEverything about this restaurant reeks class. it was all a taste sensation and i just wanted more more more. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out you are made to feel like you are meant to be there and are part of the 'Tailors' family. this restaurant is a must and should not be missed by anyone who is a lover of fine food and drink!!!! I love it I love it I love it!!!!
Tailors Restaurant – WarwickMy husband is vegetarian so its quite hard to find somewhere nice to eat where we both enjoy our meals. Greek food is one of our favourites as it usually leaves us both satisfied. Our first visit for Tarsus was a very enjoyable one. The menu at the venue and the web page is not the same but we did have a starter we had never tried before, IMAMBAYILDI. It's probably the best starter we have ever had, made of aubergines is was something we could share and it was sooooo flavoursome I could have eaten it again. Next I had Firin Kebab, absolutely wonderful, hubby had SPANAKOPITA which was equally as delicious. I was full but hubby still had room in his desert belly and had baklava which was huge and was different to all the other baklava's we've tried, you have to taste it - it's lush. You can sit at the bar and peruse the menu to your leisure and at weekends there's entertainment. The service is a bit slow but who cares when the food is so fantastic (when i say slow, ten minutes between starter and main). We are definitely returning, there's so much on the menu we haven't tried before.
Tarsus Hotel And Restaurant – SouthamThis is the best place for chicken tikka masala. good value for money and you can take your own drinks.
Castle Balti – WarwickA MUST VISIT!! Stumbled across The Punch Bowl last week with my husband and three kids. After a tiring 3 hours round Warwick Castle we were looked after by Suzanne & the brilliant Chef. They were children friendly, the food was absolutely fantastic and service impeccable. Try the lemon sole ! Will highly recommend this pub.
The Punch Bowl – WarwickCame here on recommendation, and I must say this is the best experience I've ever had in a Indian restaurant. The moment I entered, was greeted so warmly, then sat down in lounge and not rushed, very good professional team in this place. We had lots of food and it was just spot on. I'm proud to have a Restaurant like this our town.
