We had a lovely meal on Saturday night at The Olive Tree. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, the serving staff were excellent. There is not a lot of choice on the menu, especially for those preferring meat as it was biased towards fish/veggie options - but that suited me. My trout starter and hake main course were both excellent quality. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and for special occasions it is a treat.

We were just intending to have the lunch time two course special, but after two delicious courses we had to try the deserts which were also great. We will definitely be returning to the Green Olive.

We had a delightful lunch on Saturday - everything was delicious the service was excellent, and we felt that the 2-course lunch offer was excellent value for money. A great addition to the Wells food scene!

This was a truly exceptional meal. Great produce perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Don’t miss the delicious desserts too. This is really fine dining at a very reasonable price. And front of house is very friendly and efficient. No reservations in giving the Olive Tree absolutely top marks. Don’t miss it.

Booked lunch through easy to follow website. Seating really comfortable. As before my wife and I found food excellent, especially the sea bass fillet. Crumble however was found to be too sweet for us. Staff always helpful and cheerful. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely fabulous!!! what a find, if you want to try the best food ever created book a table at Goodfellows at 7B, a lovely intimate setting,the best food I have ever tasted and waiting staff that make you feel so welcome, we are several hours away but we will be returning to Wells just so we can visit this gem of a restaurant again, truly amazing.

6 of us had a fantastic meal at the Olive Tree . From the moment we walked in the atmosphere and smells of delicious food hit us . The family who own and run the restaurant were so friendly and helpful they give the restaurant its ambiance. We will definitely be back and recommend to all as the food was amazing .

Had a spontaneous need to go for a lovely meal. As ever had the most delicious food. Gazpacho, scallops and poached pears. Just divinely delicious. Always a warm welcome and wonderful service. Thank you for the best food ever.

Visited Wells with family to celebrate a 60th Birthday, and booked a table at The Olive Tree based on reviews and photos. Very positive experience from the moment we arrived, through the quality of menu and meals, and the reasonably priced wines. We would certainly come again if we are in the area. Excellent evening!

The food was excellent, the loos were spotless and the service was great. Not cheap but value for money.

We have attended Goodfellows for some time now - before and after their move to St Thomas Street. The dished served there have always been top quality as on our recent visit. Also the service is excellent, friendly and informed and responsive to questions asked. The restaurant itself is attractive and comfortable. In every aspect my wife and I conclude that Goodfellows is highly to be recommended.

Found this restaurant online for my husband's birthday as we were staying in Wells and what a good choice. Very friendly atmosphere and excellent food , and would thoroughly recommend

What an amazing and intimate experience! My partner booked a room at Beryl Country House it was my role to pick an equal or better restaurant. Apparently I did good! Classily decorated, really intimate. Kitchen in full view. Front of house staff attentive, but not intrusive. Food: out of thise world. We had spent literally an hour deciding on line what we were going to have. When seated the menu had changed. Not a complaint. It was a great talking point for us. Never had food like it. Best sauce I’ve ever had on duck. All perfectly cooked. I’m a starter main course person. My partner, main course, dessert. Was offered cutlery to share both starter and dessert. A great touch (we didn’t take up the offer). Flavours were out of this world and portion sizes were perfect! VFM? Absolutely. Thanks, team. We will be back!

we had another delightful evening at 7b. All the dishes on the 5 course tasting menu were superb and complimented beautifully by the wine selection. The attention to detail is first class.
