We have eaten at the Goose many times. Food is always very nice and reasonably priced. Alcoholic drinks however are very over priced!

A lovely all round experience, food was excellent .

Paid £45 for 3 carvery’s and 3 soft drinks. Service at the carvery was horrendous very slow. Meat was tough. Roast potatoes are average. Yorkshire puddings are poor. So was it worth it??? NO. It’s worth £5.99 each AT BEST!!!

A girlie meal out for dinner. Lovely meat and veg as always as well as the friendly greeting and welcome. X

Went on Sunday 15th March 2026..the food was lovely however for how much they charge only 3pieces of meat..also the roast potatoes seemed like they were frozen ones. Other then stated staff were polite and welcoming

Always lived carvery here but unfortunately the food wasn't great last weekend . Roast potatoes taste as if they were frozen ones, stuffing was raw. Meat was very chewy. It was disappointing as we all live it here usually . Service and staff were excellent as usual which was nice

Food was not what we are used to. Felt like perhaps,chef had hanged hands seens last time,as Food not as good. Meat was cold,veg over cooked roast potatoes. Tasted like they came out of a bag. The gammon egg and pineapple The gammon was dry the chips were close to raw the egg wasn't hot The cookie dough. Was not what we was expecting it was to sweet it was also too doughy and the cream was too watery

We’d been out for the day and was heading home when we remembered The Golden Goose! We made a booking on line which was extremely easy to do. When we arrived we were very well looked after and the food was fantastic!! Keep it up Team Golden Goose!!

We had a meal at the Golden Goose yesterday and I have to say it was as usual very good food very friendly staff who are always welcoming and willing to help we willing definitely be going back even my Granddaughter enjoyed her meal

Booked a table for two, only to find upon arrival it was located next to a brick pillar right by the main thoroughfare, table 11, where people kept constantly arriving and walking to and from , my wife actually got knocked a couple of times by a passerby. Even upon asking whether there was another table available upon arrival, we was told no, even though people who came in later who hadn’t booked was given the option of a table in the bar area to eat. Food average, very busy and noisy, never asked if this was our first time to eat there, nor explained the procedure of how to order the food for the carvery, we had to fathom this out for ourselves, condiments/ sauces were on a table in quite an unlit area, and unfortunately came out with our clothes smelling of cooked food.

Amazing steak melted in your mouth. 2 courses was great value,excellent quality food.

Very nice carvery, good choice of meats and spoilt for choice with all the lovely vegetables. Staff are all very friendly. Our go to carvery now.

I can honestly say that the Golden Goose is one of my absolute favourite places to go for a meal on any occasion, whether just fancying a carvery for Sunday lunch, a get together with friends, or the work's Christmas meal. Although it is always busy (not surprisingly) it is definitely worth the wait. We usually book in advance (recommended), but have also dropped in on the off chance of an available table. The staff (despite being really busy) are always friendly and courteous. I usually have the carvery which is absolutely insane with its choice of meats and vegetables, always cooked just as your mum would cook at home and full of flavour. The meat portions are always very generous and you can have as much veg as you like. Honestly I have never had a pudding as I am always too full. My staff (on our works do) had food off the main menu and said it was delicious. Exceptional value for money too. Definitely worth a visit.

Faultless, a lovely experience each time we go, the food is so delicious, beautifully cooked. I know the staff must work very hard to enable this, so thankyou!
