The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – Worsley1st time here! And won’t be the last … enjoyed that you could have the small plates and have a taste of each one! The tandoori chips are gorgeous
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyThis was our first time visiting and whilst the food was incredible the service wasn't quite as good as we had hoped. Three of the beers were out of stock and we had hoped to try the Ale and Aloo beer, when I asked the waitress for advice on the menu she was unable to help. When paying at the end we didn't get offered a receipt to check. We didn't get an overly friendly impression from the staff which other people commented on so think we may have been unlucky. The food was worth going back for though!
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyGreat Sunday lunch here last week. First time visit and food was delicious and tasty. Amazing marsala roasted vegetables and makhani cauliflower cheese is a must! Definitely will be visiting again to try the curries and small plates. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good value for money and great to see a pub adapt and find a niche - Ale and Aloo.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyI took my Indian parents (potentially the harshest critics) here for a meal when they travelled a few hours to come and visit me… and it didn’t disappoint! I’ve struggled finding Indian food which isn’t too westernised and still has the authentic tastes - exactly what was delivered here! The small plates are a great way of sharing food (which is very common in Indian culture). The food was exceptional, lovely relaxed environment and I’m most definitely coming back! Big congratulations to the team behind this - it really was exceptional and the food blew me away.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – Worsley5 star!
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyVisited for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend which was our 3rd visit to this venue. She has a gluten and dairy intolerance and the staff couldn’t have done more to accommodate her requirements. The food was amazing and hands down the best Indian food either of us have ever eaten. The service was first class as well. Honestly could not recommend this place enough. It’s been consistently brilliant each time we’ve visited and easily our favourite place to eat in the local area.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyLovely food and nice atmosphere. Okay prices and lovely small plates. Nice mix between pub and restaurant so has different vibes for different people. Manager was lovely and friendly and had a laugh with us. Would definitely be back!
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyHad a girls night catchup and enjoyed a lovely meal. Food is lovely and staff are very welcoming. I've eaten here before and was not disappointed on returning. Will be revisiting again very soon

The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyGreat atmosphere. Food was delicious. The chicken bon bons are to die for. Would definitely recommend. We reserved online as it gets quite busy.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyTHE BEST CURRY IVE EVER HAD. I was a little dubious to begin with as I had never had a curry from a local pub, but we was blown away. The samosa chaats, butter chicken and chicken biryani were amazing! We are already planning our next visit. Worth mentioning the service was excellent too!
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyWe reserved a table for 6people at 6pm 2hrs beforehand and it was not a problem so glad we did though as it was busy on Saturday night. This was our 4th visit and as always great food, friendly atmosphere and excellent service.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyWe visited on a Saturday for a family meal after seeing the pub on social media and being intrigued by the concept. The woman who served us, who I assumed was the manager, was incredibly accommodating, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble despite being on her own. We all agreed the food was good but there were a couple of issues such as our mains not all coming out the same time and the starters not being very hot. We also were expecting chicken tikka in our curries but only got chicken. Only minor things though and we’ll definitely be back. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.
The Gatehouse Ale & Aloo – WorsleyThe pub has a lovely friendly atmosphere. The menu is very interesting and the small plates looked delicious and generous portions. We had a paneer burger with masala fries, 3 curries with naan breads and a fish & chips. All enjoyed and agreed we would return. I had the prawn vindaloo, wad good to see a flavoursome Goan vindoloo on the menu and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good tasty food is not produced quickly , so please be patient with the kitchen. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended.
