Ambiente – WorsleyBeen to the John Gilbert many times particularly like their curry and a drink night on a Thursday but no one could tell me if any of the curries were gluten free including the chef, as they were bought in. Surely if you are classed as a chef you would want to be made aware of the ingredients in the food you are serving to your customers in order to offer any dietary advice if required.
John Gilbert, The – WorsleyJust visited this restaurant about 6pm had a combo to share then carvery. Have to admit the food was good. However when we arrived it was full and instead of taking our names they just left people to get the table themselves which meant that inconsiderate people jump on tables before their turn. When it came to the carvery we had to wait until the staff got theirs in front of us, their plates where piled high. We were unable to dish our own carvery and when i asked if there was anymore stuffing, (the waitress before me had taken it all for free) i was told no, its coming off now anyway. When my dad got his there was not any gravy left for him. We understand it was 6pm but would of much preferred to have had something else to eat instead of what felt like left overs. We were paying and got the scrapings while the staff got free meals first. Spoke to the manager who was very nice and gave us the carveries for free. Would of much preferred to have paid full price for a nice meal but felt it was disorganised and a free for all the staff.
John Gilbert, The – WorsleyThis is a restaurant I go to regularly. The food is superb, the prices are very reasonable, the service is excellent, and the staff are very friendly. It's a shame the place is not busier.
Due Amici – WorsleyThis place is okay, average I would say. There is nothing special with it, but nothing wrong either. We had a pleasant meal, again it was ok but not spectacular. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Sadly, the cutlery and a couple of glasses were dirty (food stuck to the forks and lipstick on the glasses). A little more attention to detail would avoid this. Even worse, they completely forgot to bring one of our meals, then after saying it would be 2 or 3 minutes, the staff avoided our table for over 20 minutes. The rest of our party had finished eating before the missing meal appeared. Not good. All in all, I would say this place is okay if it is local to you and you want somewhere close by to go for a meal. I wouldn't recommend it as special and it's not worth a long trip to get there.
Due Amici – WorsleyFantastic restaurant, lovely food and reasonably priced. Been here several times and since it has become Sugo it just keeps getting better ! Last night me and my friends had a lovely 2 course meal and even had to take some home because we were stuffed ! Highly recommended - best place outside of Manchester !
Due Amici – WorsleyI visited Ambiente with my Husband and my Mother-in-Law and we would certainly recommend it to anyone. The food was a very high standard, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and quiet. Thank you to all the staff for an excellent night out. We will visit again soon!
Ambiente – WorsleyAfter the sad demise of Daniellis (previous name of restaurant - went downhill rather rapidly) Sugo is a refreshing change! Perfect for our girly nights out, or even as a midweek treat. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Due Amici – Worsleyhad a really good meal last time we visited this restaurant.food excellent. back there again this week.
Due Amici – WorsleyWe visited Sugo for the first time last night with our two children (9 & 3) and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening with fantastic freshly-prepared food and friendly attentive service from an Armenian waitress who listened to my partner's specific needs. The restaurant was relatively quiet compared to it's sister restaurant, Cappanina in Bury. which we frequent often. The menu is identical being printed for all four restaurants whose details appear on the reverse - there is only Zio in Nelson that we haven't yet visited and are unlikely to because of the distance. The food was truly excellent and for once both children finished their meals which enabled us to enjoy our own three courses accompanied by a bottle of Sardinian grenache or Cannonau as it labelled. We shall definitely be returning as although it the menu and decor are virtually indistinguishable from the closer Cappanina it was a winner with the children - possibly due to the little red Fiat filled with wine bottles in the centre of the room!
Due Amici – WorsleyFrequented this restaurant a few years ago when it was Danielis - and towards the end it was DIRE!! I went to Sugo a couple of days ago with some friends just to try it out under new ownership!! WOW!! What a difference! Staff who were truly interested in us and our needs! Food that was superb!! We will most definitely be returning again - many times.
Due Amici – WorsleyWhat a lovely little independent cafe this is! I think the lady who runs it is call Marina, and her food is fresh and delicious. I often go in their with my staff if we want to have an informal meeting over a coffee and danish. It is also the place to go for a delicious, fresh panini for lunch! Five Star ***** !!
The Cafe Chino – WorsleyWent to Ambiente last night. Will NOT be returning. Food was ok, nothing special. Plates were hot, but food was lukewarm. The worst was trying to get a drink, waited 45 minutes for a glass of wine! The rest of our party waited 35 minutes for mojitos. In a period of 3 hours we manged to get 2 drinks. Not great service, seemed like the staff really did not want to be there or be bothered. All in all not a good experience, and that a real shame!
Ambiente – WorsleyNot been to the John Gilbert before but friend told me about it.Great atmosphere on a Fri/Sat (one of the Corrie lot was in) had a meal with family Great Sunday Carvery making it a must for Mothers Day as getting booked up.
John Gilbert, The – Worsleyexcellent sunday lunch staff always smiling which makes a change from some pubs in worsley
John Gilbert, The – WorsleyWe were in the restaurant Sat 13th Feb 2009. Service was one of the worst I have known. We waited 30mins for wine and over an hour for food. Its a shame as the food was really good once we finally got. If they can't cope with high numbers then they shouldn't take the bookings !!! Staff were not on the ball at all and badly managed !!
Ambiente – WorsleyFour of us ordered bread, olives, tapas to start and 2 mains to share. A mixed experience, some of the tapas were very good and tasty (gambas, lamb), but the portions were tiny and the prices high. The paella was £15.95 and poor value, also overcooked. Our other main dish was the duck, for £15 we got a very small portion. We ended up being quite irritated with the number of staff who kept coming round asking if we were OK and whether we wanted more drinks - and also they made some mistakes with our order. Have been to better tapas places, won't be returning.
Ambiente – WorsleyAfter being recommended from a friend we were more than impressed with Ambiente last night. The food was devine, more fine dining than the usual tapas. We shared a couple of tapas to start & then moved on to the raciones. Whilst all the dishes were very flavoursome & beautifully presented, I can not recommend the filletitos highly enough. We then hit the bar & spent the rest of the night annoying (many) fabulous cocktails. A truly great little find. Thanks guys.
