A pleasant looking pub that's true. However the food is what one would expect from an national pub co. Its an Ember Inn and I would not return. Poor chicken burger and chips!

Barton Arms – WorsleyAwful! Poor service, manager is very unprofessional. Food is of low quality.
Vesuvio Restaurant – WorsleySpecial day ruined! Avoid at all cost! Around the end of November we booked a christening reception for 8th February at the John Gilbert pub. We arranged we would be having a buffet and we would have exclusive use of the raised area in the pub as it was a nice sized space for the number of people we were expecting and it gave us an element of privacy. The lady (I think she was called Becky) who dealt with us at the time took our details and wrote everything down. She told us not to worry about paying a deposit at the time and just pop in a week or so before the 8th of February to confirm our final numbers and our buffet choices, the pay a deposit. We decided to go and sort it a bit earlier on 7th January we went to pay for the buffet and confirm the details. The same lady who made our booking originally dealt with us again. As it turned out our party had been moved to different part of the pub that was far less suitable. All we were told was that the area we agreed on is now taken by someone else who already paid! NOT EVEN AN APPOLOGY. I cannot understand why anyone would do this!? As it was clear to see in their diary the party that has taken priority over us is no larger in numbers there seems no financial gain to the pub or even just a matter of fitting more people in better. We never received any phone call or other form of contact to question our intent of going ahead with the booking or to inform us of the change to the agreed arrangements. Imagine if we hadn’t of come in until 1st of February as advised!? Now due to the total unprofessionalism of the pub we have to find a new venue, have the already printed invitations reprinted and all our potential guests will be getting extremely short notice! This is without doubt the most disgraceful example of poor customer service and truly mighty feat to ruin such a special and important day for our daughter before it has even happened!
John Gilbert, The – WorsleyMy cousin suggested George's for quick lunch we both ordered from the lighter Menu. I can honestly say it was the best Advocado salad ever tasted. The staff were very attentive the prices very reasonable. Will be back next time in the evening and hopefully have time for main course.
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyI'm so disappointed with my visit to George,s , the meal was awful and very pricey .
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyI recently celebrated getting promoted with an afternoon tea at Georges. It was a wonderful dinning experience, both in ambience and eating. The staff were warm and nothing was too much trouble, even though they seemed to be very busy. I think some people forget that restaurants provide a service which we pay for and we aren't doing them a favour by being there. The way some customers speak to some restaurant staff is disgusting. They ought to remember how they would feel if it were their son or daughter who were being spoken to in such a manner. Keep up the good work, chefs and waiting staff alike!!!
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyGreat food and prices, excellent service.
The Woodside – WorsleyWe have always had excellent food and the staff are always very friendly. We think the lunch menu is very good value and the desserts are fabulous. We visit most Fridays and often have coffee on the terrace on a Saturday or a Sunday.
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyHad the best food experience with my husband in Georges on Saturday I had the chicken liver pate and fish pie for main, absolutely delicious. Definitely the best restaurant in area #greatfood
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyI visited Georges on the 25th of Jan full of anticipation having been a regular at the Milan for years. The first disappointment was on arrival to find that that our telephone reservation had not been booked. Perhaps an omen for the evening! My wife chose the Chicken liver pate, and I the Torched sardines which were both delicious. my wife then chose theSirloin steak which proved to be the worst steak she has ever had in a restaurant.! We were so disappointed with the whole experience that we did not have a dessert. We were served be a charming waitress who remembered a birthday party I had, with guests , at the Milan in May - an excellent experience I will not be repeating at Georges.
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyMy friend called this restaurant tonight to book a table and was asked to ring back tomorrow at 12 as they were busy! She said no because she would be at work in a classroom and reluctantly passed over to a female who told her they were fully booked. Sorry you've lost a potential new customer.
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyI visited George's on NYE with 4 friends the service was amazing food outstanding it was relaxing the decor and ambience outstanding. It was only just completed with its refit from Milan. The entire experience was amazingWe have returned 5 more times for drinks and to celebrate a birthday we were made to feel so specialYes there are the more expensive choices but you can choose more affordable items alsoWell done xxxx
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyVisited at the weekend. My daughter (age9) ordered off the children's menu, macaroni cheese and was very disappointed. It was spinach pasta ie green with some mushrooms thrown in just for good measure. The cheese sauce was somewhat scarce and flavourless. This would not go down with most kids. I shared a ribeye with my other daughter. Skin on chips are plain lazy and should be banned. The diane sauce was a bit thin but ok. My husband had the fillett which was the best meal by far.The staff were pleasant enough though.
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyI visited Georges last night with a friend and was very disappointed by the whole experience.I had difficulty in choosing a starter but decided on the pate which was nothing special and very over priced. There are some unusual main courses to which you need vegetables at extra cost. We chose the salmon en croute for two people as it came with new potatoes. This was presented from a serving board in a very grand style by our waitress .I wish we had photographed our meagre offering which cost £32.50!!! Extortionate!! I have bought the same in M
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyVesuvio is very much NOT in Manchester city centre . It is in fact in the Stanfield centre in Boothstown occupying the space that once housed the late and greatly lamented Baisin restaurant. Vesuvio is busy, and bustling . The food is fairly superior Italian with a few English staples . The pre xmas menu was very good and great value for money. Portions of non pasta dishes were generous but not cheap. Pasta looks fine and its not to dear. So keep it up Vesuvio and see you again in the New Year
Vesuvio Restaurant – WorsleyNice, enjoyable food but rather inflated prices for a very inexperienced team and delivery with a miniature car park at the back - don't expect to find a spot even on a quiet night. There is little ambience with only guests for something to look at. The menu given is bigger than your place setting with only 1/3 of the choices available to order from of an evening making the choice rather limiting. Sloppy, young, inexperienced team who didn't seem to know an espresso from an Irish coffee and barge through the table like school dinner service with a few 'sirs' thrown in for for an attempt at restaurant etiquette. The desserts again tasted nice but are an embarrassing attempt at real classics - creme brûlée with no brûlée, fondant chocolate only with the creamy middle. It's a real shame that the inexperience of the entire team lets this place down especially, when you receive the bill!
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyCracking place a hidden gem in little Hulton.
