The Red Lantern Chinese Restaurant is in the heart of Burnley, opposite the famous Bridge pub and next to the Charter Walk car park. There has been a Chinese restaurant here on this site for 20 years – it used to be known as The Regent – but new owners have changed the name and given it a complete refurb. They have a wealth of experience in the restaurant trade – they ran Manchester’s famous Charlie Chan’s in the 1970s -- and the food here is mainly Cantonese but with Szechuan and Thai specialities as well as low-calorie dishes. The entrance is at street level with the 60-cover restaurant down at basement level. The Red Lantern is open from 5pm-11pm six days a week, closed Tuesdays.
