Four of us ate at the Black Bull Thursday 9th December, excellent food although mains were small and lacking in vegetables the quality was really good and the staff/owners were warm and friendly.Nice atmosphere although the pub was not busy.

wow! have found a hidden gem! The Black Bull at Rimmington is now definitely on our map! The Tasting menu - 6 smaller courses of the most popular dishes-was delicious. From the ham hock with homemade chutney to the most amazing chocolate torte, each course a work of art, all of which tasted amazing. The service was faultless-very friendly and relaxed.

Food was fab, hosts were extremely friendly. The only objection/advice is: (and this is only because I'm a stickler for authenticity), is having the cheese offered with crusty French bread, instead of crackers (although they were homemade and très bons, for me you can't beat real French bread and room temperature cheese (which if you like cheese it was). Félicitations Black Bull for an authentic French experience, excellent Bavette, Bouillabaise oh and not forgetting the Amouse-Bouche, and Celine Dion music - FAB!!!

We booked a special meal for our mothers 70th birthday. The Black bull did not disappoint !
The service and excellent food made it a celebration to remember. The food was of a very high standard and exceeded our expectations. The choice of wine was perfect ( recommended by the charming Restauranter )
We have returned a number of times since and have not been disappointed. A relaxed ambience wether you are there for lunch or a special dinner. would Highly recommend.
Lovely people and atmosphere

Just had the worse dinner ever at the Black Bull. It really doesn't live up to its description of "french cuisine". I had burned duck confit and tasteless, gritty Boulabaisse. The wine was over priced at £28, for a bottle I can buy in the super market for £6. We won't be going again.

A great evening and although the four of us selected different choices from the varied menu, we were all delighted with the quality and presentation of the food.

We eat out with friends about twice a month and usually try to find somewhere different. But when we're stuck for somewhere new to try this is the one we return to. The menu's not too extensive (although plenty of choice), the food's excellent and the staff are friendly. It's in a pretty location and, although they no longer have the little private transport museum, the bar area is set out with lots of railway memorabilia, a large model locomotive etc. etc.
Definitely my favourite dining pub in the area

We felt very fortunate to have happened on this restaurant while touring the Ribble Valley. I didn't ask, but I think that it's possible the chef there is cordon bleur, the meal was so well presented, hot and delicious. Everything is home made and the variety of locally grown vegetables fresh and luscious. To top it all the meal didn't cost the earth and was very reasonable, so I can genuinely recommend the Black Bull.
