Amantola is located on the A55 in Deeside just 10 minutes from Chester and right on the border between Wales and England. Established 10 years now, this opulent restaurant serves a la carte Indian food as well as buffet-style Chinese and Thai cuisine. The outside gives little clue to as what’s inside with space for up to 220 diners and a separate and luxurious bar area with comfy sofas. Amantola is open for lunch and dinner every day although the Thai and Chinese buffet – which has anything between 10 and 50 dishes available at any time – is only available in the evenings. Spices are ground in-house by the multinational team of chefs to ensure maximum flavour. The restaurant can also accommodate all kinds of functions and events up to a maximum capacity of 150.

This 'eat all you can' buffet restaurant has more than 60 Chinese and Thai dishes to choose from. Open every day for lunch and dinner and all day on Sunday, you can eat here from as little as £5.90. Buffet Star can accomodate up to 200 people and party bookings are welcome. There is a special party reception area as well as disabled access and a full-service bar.

If you’re in search of a late night meal in Liverpool, then look no further than China City. In the heart of Chinatown on Nelson Street, this place stays open until well into the wee hours – as late as 3am if you’re a really late eater. The restaurant has been around since 1997 but is now under new management and has recently reopened with a new contemporary design after a major refurbishment. The Head Chef, who has 20 years experience and used to run his own restaurant in China, can create special menus for parties.

Centrally positioned between Lime Street and Central railway stations, China Palace is a great choice for a night out in Liverpool. Established for over 10 years, this buffet restaurant and Karaoke Bar is a good place to hold a party. The contemporary restaurant can accommodate around 200 diners and you can choose from the Chinese Buffet with over 35 dishes and something for everyone, including fish, meat and vegetarian options. This unique Chinese restaurant opened on Columbus Quay in 2000. Modelled on a ship's bow, the two-storey glass-panelled structure sits right on the riverfront and enjoys spectacular views out over the Mersey and across to the Wirral. The interior decor is equally impressive, marrying contemporary design with traditional oriental touches. Chung Ku can accommodate up to 330 people, making it a popular venue for events and functions. The menu encompasses dishes from across China as well as dim sum and special set lunches and banquets. Established in 1995, the Great Wall in Childwall is a top-notch Chinese restaurant and takeaway service with an online ordering system. A real bonus on top of the traditional Chinese menu choices is the fusion menu -- a cross-over between eastern and western cuisine resulting in some delicious and exclusive dishes like the popular Tender fillet steak in honey chilli sauce. There are also lots of banquet choices, vegetarian and children’s options and a useful Taste Index which on a scale of 1-5 indicates the strength of each dish. Next to Parr Baths on the outskirts of St Helens, Hong Sing is a large 200-cover Chinese restaurant that serves an all-you-can-eat buffet alongside the main a la carte and set banquet menus. It’s open seven days a week right through from noon til late in the evening and also has a Chinese bakery on site which makes cakes and Chinese desserts. Buffet prices range from £5.50 at lunchtimes through to £9 in the evening prime time. Children under nine are half-price and there is also a very popular takeaway buffet box available all day for £3.80. The wine selection extends to 20 bins, all available by the glass.

Since opening in 1988, the Mandarin has built a reputation as one of Liverpool’s best Chinese restaurants. It’s decorated in sumptuous style with a stained glass backlit ceiling, a unique pillar of tropical fish and an award-winning window presentation. There is also a private function room that can seat up to 45 people with decorative partitions for smaller groups. The New Peking Duck on Liverpool’s Smithdown Road specialises in Cantonese and Peking-style cuisine and has been in business for 20 years. It’s a family-run restaurant and a new generation has recently taken over the reins, retaining popular favourites like the aromatic crispy duck, crispy shredded beef in chilli sauce and lemon chicken but adding new offers and services such as home delivery and an ‘all you can eat’ Sunday buffet. The New Peking Duck is open seven nights a week and offers a good-value early evening banquet until 7pm every night as well as a varied choice of banquet meals, including a vegetarian option, and the main a la carte menu. Rasa Malaysia Boleh is Liverpool’s first Malaysian restaurant. It’s on Myrtle Parade, catering to the university market, and offers dishes like satay grilled over a charcoal fire, Mamak-style roti canai with traditional curry, prawn noodles, Malay-style nasi lemak, Home-made curry chicken, mee goreng and authentic teh tarik to wash it all down with. As well as the Malaysian food, there is also a good selection of Chinese dishes. The restaurant is open from 12 noon until 2am Sunday to Friday (closed Saturdays) and as well as the main menu has special lunch and early evening banquets as well as a takeaway service with free delivery within a three-mile radius.

One of Liverpool's largest Chinese restaurants -- seating 400 -- Tai Pan offers classic Cantonese food, a decent wine list, and a large, free car park, making it a popular choice. It’s located in a purpose-built space on Great Howard Street to the north of the city centre near the docks The food is classic Cantonese – most of the staff are from Hong Kong – and the chilli beef here is renowned. A private function room is available and can accommodate up to 90 diners. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can ask for some of the off menu dishes that are popular with the Chinese community.

Situated in the village of Wooton, Ying Wah has been serving quality, authentic Chinese cuisine to the neighbourhood for over 30 years, making it one of the longest-established in Liverpool. A recent refurbishment has given the two-floor restaurant a new lease of life and its loyal patrons have been giving very positive feedback. The top-floor function room has been extended to accommodate up to 65 people, perfect for birthdays and weddings and an additional private dining facility has been created. The interior has been tastefully decorated throughout with new carpets, decorative red chairs, clothed tables, low voltage mood lighting including soft blue spots and the use of feature wooden dividers to split the restaurant into sections. The upstairs function and private dining room has had the same treatment with newly upholstered banquettes and green mood lighting. Open 5-11.30pm Monday-Thursday, 5-12am Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Zen Chinese Restaurant in West Derby has come out of a major refurbishment project with a sleek and stylish new look. The mood lighting, black leather seating, marble surfaces and dark wood floors create a real contemporary feel which helps Zen to really stand out from the crowd. The restaurant is open every day from 5pm (3pm on Sundays) and offers a vast a la carte choice with Cantonese, Szechuan and Peking dishes as well as various banquet set menus, teatime special deals plus children’s meals and a small selection of English dishes. On Sundays, they open a little earlier and run an ‘eat as much as you like’ buffet. Zen also caters for large parties and functions and has a takeaway service.
