been there quite recent and i most say it was just like Hong Kong . I stay in Glasgow where the Chinese restaurants are not so good ,so we have to travel down the M6 to have proper cantonese cuisine at less than 30 than their counter parts north of the border ...Thank you Tai Wu and all the lovely people of Manchester...!!!

The foods and service are exceptional. Great value. Loved our visit so much we return every week.

Recently went to the Tai Wu with a friend who had been taken there by a Chinese girl for a Dim Sum meal. I was very impressed with the great variety and quality of the dishes, the attentive staff and the lively ambiance where the majority of diners were Chinese. Am going to recommend it to all my friends!

Basic customer service skills non-existent. Try at every opportunity to short change you. Would not rely on this venue for anything important.

Having been to Tai Wu once before and having found it just acceptable, I decided I would go once again to see if it had just been a bad night for them... a sorry mistake.
The service was atrocious. The steak was chewy and rubbery and the soup cold. Worst of all, I requested a dish that a couple at a different table were enjoying and my girlfriend and I were told we were not allowed it because we were not chinese! I was furious. The manager was also very rude to us when we said that the food was not up to standard.
I strongly encourage anyone considering this restaurant to eat elsewhere and to also pass on this information to anyone you know who lives in the greater Manchester area.

What a nice surprise! Coincidentally, during the past week in London, I had been invited to several of the most exclusive dining establishments there (possibly in the world -- the kind of places where you see Ivana Trump at the next table, which I did), and had observed diners indifferently making it through their various 'haute' courses. By contrast, this evening I walked into Tai Wu because I looked in and saw so many of the (mostly Asian) clientele truly seeming to be sharing their meals with relish and having a great time. Although on my own, the feeling was infectious, and I must say I enjoyed my meal there more than any I have had this week, both because of the quality of the cuisine (which was excellent) and the ambience (which lived up to its promise). The staff also seemed to be happy being a part of the general feeling of goodwill which prevailed. What else can I say!

Was in Manchester for business and looking for a good place to eat. Concierge recommended Tai Wu. Very high quality and authentic Chinese food. Would definitely go to again if in Manchester.

I really enjoy the food in Tai Wu. Being originally from Hong Kong, the taste of food in Tai Wu is the closest to home. The environment is also great! I particularly like the lunch dim sum. It is such a great offer. I truly recommend this place to those who haven't been to Tai Wu yet! Try it yourself and taste the real Cantonese cuisine.

Been there twice now and haven't been disappointed. Can recommend the squid!
