Union Street Brasserie – YeovilA rare lunch date with the wife. We loved it. Four course valentine's lunch. We were greeted and seated. Service was impeccable and the food amazing. We were not rushed and had plenty of time to savour every mouthful. I felt it was good value for money. Well worth it as an occasional treat. We will be back.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe had lunch at MGJ on 30th January 2025. Over two weeks later we still feel compelled to write a review. The overall experience was amazing. The food was exquisite but as the menu constantly changes there is no real benefit to describing what we had to eat. We went with the wine pairing option and each combination was fantastic, the highlight being the Forty Hall sparkling wine from a vineyard outside London. Food and drink aside, it was everything else that truly elevated the experience. The space is intimate, cosy and has lovely quirky touches. But it is the service levels that truly sets this restaurant apart. You feel like you are sitting in your granny's kitchen and she is preparing something for you to eat not that my granny ever prepared food that tasted anything close to what Gordon Jones comes up with. And Amelie has an amazing ability to find the drink that pairs so elegantly with such food perfection. We are already planning our next visit to MGJ. It's reassuring to read the reviews from people who have returned and have found the experience to be on par with their previous visit. The quote says that the best memories are made when you eat at someone's house and I would highly recommend you call around and have a meal with Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
Menu Gordon Jones – BathA great experience- lovely food- very busy on a wet & windy lunchtime. I was prepared by being well wrapped up but actually shed a layer or two! Nice size portions of very delicious food. Looking forward to trying the other options.
Olive Kitchen and Bar – YeovilGood staff, good food. Our favourite place in Yeovil
Union Street Brasserie – YeovilJust the best in Wells, will visit again when in town!
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsSecond time at The Olive Tree and both times the food and service has been excellent . The food is just so tasty and well flavoured- mains, vegetable side dishes and desserts. Looking forward to next visit, feels like a real treat.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsEnjoyed a delicious lunch for 2 on Friday. Very cold & windy day so their wonderful selection of unusual hot drinks were very welcome. Thoroughly recommend.
Olive Kitchen and Bar – YeovilExcellent meal Salmon starter was delicious Duck main was succulent Cheeses were delectable and port was rosy thank you
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsExcellent friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Good quality food especially the Wild Boar sausages and tenderstem broccoli. Highly recommended
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsI WOULD WALK 500 MILES .... to experience another meal at Menu Gordon Jones. From the warm welcome to the personal farewell, you will feel like a special guest. The food is equally bespoke. What you read on the menu is not what you get. "Bread and soup" turns out to be a mouth-watering combination of Scottish flavours. "Steak and chips" similarly heralds unexpected delights. Interesting tastes and textures characterise the courses you will follow. Staff are friendly, knowledgable and (rightly) proud of the enjoyment they bring you. No detail is neglected. The table, cutlery and ceramics are all talking points for the curious. One word of caution. Take companionship not mobile phones to this outstanding restaurant -you'll miss out on too much. And your discourtesy will NOT go unnoticed !

Union Street Brasserie – YeovilSuch a lovely place with a great vibe, and a fantastic menu. We visited for lunch, the service was quick, friendly and efficient and there was lots of choice on the menu and a selection of delicious cakes. I opted for the cheese toastie and I was not disappointed, finishing off with a piece of carrot cake which was delicious. I will definitely be back very soon x
