Nice atmosphere, friendly service but let down by pretty dismal food. Dry, no flavour, menu lacks imagination, and bowls of side dishes clearly old and dry. A drinking pub but definitely not a restaurant.

The Masons Arms – YeovilExcellent French food in a modern but cozy atmosphere.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsAn excellent pub championing Badger ales with the additional benefit of a clean and well serviced campsite behind. Excellent dinner and breakfast.
The Masons Arms – YeovilHow refreshing to find a traditional pub which serves good ale and great food. The menu, particularly for a lunchtime, was very extensive. The food was fresh, well prepared and very enjoyable. The welcome and service was also great, what more can you ask?
The Masons Arms – YeovilWhat a find! Celebrating a birthday, it was superb. Such a welcoming, warm atmosphere and very dog friendly. Immaculate, beautifully presented, charming, old pub. Traditional fare on the menu but cooked and served with flare, care and imagination. Certainly not the bland, mass produced, boring menus of the chains. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Perfect if you’re looking for an alternative to hugely expensive, gastropubs but would like to support a great local business. In the picturesque village of Lower Odcombe, it will most certainly not be our last visit. Thank you for a lovely evening.
The Masons Arms – YeovilExcellent meal, perfect service - and lovely to be greeted with a surprise glass of fizz for our anniversary.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe had a very nice Sunday lunch yesterday, compliments to the chef. Neither of us chose starters but thought we would have a dessert. However, after waiting sometime after our main meal our plates were cleared away apart from a vegetable dish we were not asked if we would like anything else. Basically they completely forgot us - too busy a lunchtime was what I was told when I went to pay. I had booked this meal a week ago as it was my husband’s Birthday. Needless to say we are in two minds if we would visit here again. We have eaten here in the past and it was great but the service let it down this time.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsDeliciously lunch on 2nd August with a relaxed atmosphere and attentive but not intrusive service. Scallops were divine and the varied menu superb. Don’t hesitate to book for an unforgettable dining experience. Excellent value for money too.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe haven't been for a while as we were disappointed with the menu, so thought we would try again. Lots of beefburgers and battered food again. Not many dishes with vegetables. But did have a smaller meal option. I had the fish cakes and they were very dry. The portion of the desert was very small for the price. Also customer service wasn't very good from two members of the staff. They might have done well in a student bar, but we felt they could have some more training.
The Masons Arms – YeovilA real “curates egg”. My main of poached Hake was one of the best meals I’ve had for a long time but other things fell below expectations. £4.25 for two tiny bits of focaccia is really taking the mickey. My onion bhaji was ok but overcooked. My friends pork cheeks was good but the braised steak dry, indeed one was returned and replaced by the hake. Staff tried their best but it all seemed a bit disorganised. Such a shame as was really looking forward to a lovely evening.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsFor fish lovers, this is simply the best restaurant for miles and miles. Food is excellent as is the service
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsInnovative menu with surprising ingredient combinations. We had 4 starters to maximise our taste experience. All were perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and delicious. The wines too were lovely and all served by the first class lady Louise.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsFantastic, tasty and well presented food. A great atmosphere and very friendly. All your hard work is fully appreciated 100%. You are local for us and we will be back very soon. Thank you ☺️
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsAnother brilliant evening here with friends. The food is first class and also caters very well with gluten free dietary requirements. We will endeavour to return soon.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsSuperb Sunday roast, with friendly service. Highly recommend
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsLovely meal! What a good restaurant! Our meal was exceptional, the service great, and the space comfortable and welcoming. I'm not impressed with many restaurants in Wells, with few exceptions most are tedious and generic, but The Olive Tree is an exception and a true standout.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsExcellent food, excellent service - highly recommend!
