My son and several of his friends visited the diner tonight and were extremely disappointed. When your site states "man v food ", having seen the pictures they took it should be renamed "man v chips". I have looked at your websites and the pictures posted in no way mirror the food they received tonight. I would appreciate your comments as I paid a vast amount for this meal as part of a 21st outing and it appears I paid for chips as opposed to what was expected.

This is our favourite place to go and eat as a family. It has a lovely atmosphere. Food is always very good. Staff are so friendly and always chatting/playing with our children. We love it!

I have visited Monni's several times in the past few months and the cod and chips and plaice and chips are really excellent. I will return to Monni's many times in the future. Superb.

Absolutely excellent service and food second to none. Definitely recommend for somewhere a but special in Blackwood. It's good to have something so amazing on our doorstep but without the crazy city prices.

Would give a lower star rating if possible !Popped in here on a Saturday evening with the hope of a meal but when asked to see the menu was met with a response of "not dressed like that" (referring to my husband not wearing the 'appropriate attire'), we were told he needed to be wearing a shirt! Apparantly a small local pub has a dress code for a tiny little back-roomed 'restaurant', that didn't actually look very appealing. The owner is incredibly rude and obviously only interested in his regular customers (all of whom looked aged 50 with an air of arrogance about them). Not making for a pleasant atmosphere. I honestly can't believe that a tiny local pub would be so hostile towards potential customers, especially with such pubs going out of business quickly these days. In this case, this particular pub deserves to go out of business!

Everything we ordered was excellent and we have often mentioned it since and always recommend this restaurant to everyone. The service was very polite and reserved. I left something in the restaurant when I left and they chased me down the street to return the item - great service :-)

The Royal Oak is the perfect place, with great food, using local produce where ever possible to produce outstanding dishes with an impressive menu. Whether you are looking to enjoy a meal from our extensive menus or simply catch up with friends over a drink, business meeting or to relax, and enjoy our great hospitality.

Surroundings are not like your usual Carvery. The place is very new and the service was fab! Food was great, the meat was so moist and not dried out. Really liked that there was a dish by the HUGE yorkshire pudding for the yorkshire pudding. We liked the choice of veg which included swede. We will definitely be going again.

There are so many Indian restaurants but why do I return time after time? Firstly the welcome by the proprietor Sam is second to none. He makes you feel like a VIP. I have always enjoyed he food-there is depth of flavour and some of the side dishes spinach is particularly well cooked. I know the outside might not be so appealing but the food is of a good quality. We are never rushed out of the restaurant and finally Sam operates a VERY child friendly establishment. Prices are very reasonable.

Went there on Saturday (12/07/14), the decor is very dated and we were greeted with a frosty welcome and it wasn't the wet windy weather outside. We were a party of 20 and has the room together. My wife ordered the chicken curry with chips. We were also entitled to a trip to the salad cart. When my wife's food came all looked ok, it was a good sized portion. However on tasting my wife did not like the curry, the re was a funny taste and tangy aftertaste. I took the meal back and advised the older lady behind the car the meal was not nice and she replied "we have served this for 17 years and been serving that night with no complaints" I advised I had tasted it as well as my mother and we all agreed it did not taste right. The plate was snatched away from me, no offer of my wife having a replacement meal was made and she did not return to the bar in the room for around 20 minutes. The salad cart was basic, with most of the items almost run out. With reference to the curry, i wonder if it was one of the original batches made 17 years ago. I am no snob but would expect a level of customer service to the paying customer and had that been me dealing with the complaint for my business i would have been apologetic the food was not nice and not defensive over how long it had been on the menu. Maybe it is time you considered revising your menu Mrs Scotch Pines.

Bailey Carvery is the best carvery in Cardiff by a long way. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are well looked after and they are all dressed so smartly too. At £6.99 you can't go wrong. They even have a salad bar too. I highly reccomend it and will be returning again soon.

Brewers Fayre Tonypandy visited again today 3/7/14 7.30 pm. What a shambles, how does a restaurant run out of food yet again. payed our money found a dirty table to sit by no forks only knives waited 15 mins for cutlery and 20 mins for someone to clean table. fetched food no meat left no yorkshire puds left 3 roast potatoes between 4 of us burnt veg. well what can I say a shambles there was a lot more wrong that evening but I have not got a spare hour to tell you about it so be aware if you want a carvery in brewers fayre tonypandy. Take some cleaning items forks knives serviettes and take a doggy bag with you just in case they have no food left at 7.30 in the evening. Anyway we do go here about once a month I will give it 1 last go as I live very local and if no improvement hey ho away somewhere else. We go did i mention the lager tastes like very weak urine do yourself a favour go somewhere else, ps dont forget your sandwiches just in case they run out of food. Lee

My wife and I visited today,so we could enjoy a leisurely lunch together, what a disappointment, we entered the premises at approx12.15pm, there were only 4 people seated for lunch. A waitress said she would be with us in a minute, we stood at the bar, no bar staff. We continued to wait, my wife then went to toilet, on her return I was still waiting. The waitress reappeared, ignored me and went attend the seated guests, how appalling and so embarrassing. What a way to treat customers, no social skills and obviously not a people's person. Such a shame when there are so many people looking for work, who could and would fill the criteria necessary. Rating 0.................

28.6.14 Approx 15.30pm. The Aubrey Arms, Bonvilston. The bowl was dirty. The bread was stale. The butter was salty. The soup was watery and tasteless. And they have the gall to serve this with a smile and charge £5.95. I've had better at a soup kitchen at 80 less cost at double the servings. There is a skill to ripping people off at the pretence of being a high class restaurant and they succeed. Sir Thomas Aubrey would no doubt be proud of their shenanigans .Mind you I ate it all and paid up.
