Never had a bad meal at Brooks. Brought two more new friends with us on Friday evening. Tried a few new dishes that we haven’t had before and some firm favourites. They were all delicious and not a single morsel was left. The owners and staff were attentive and friendly but never rushed us. The atmosphere was just right for a ten year reunion - we spent the evening laughing, catching up and celebrating with bubbles. We’ll definitely be back - again!
Brooks – IlkleyAs usual our meal at Maxis York was delishious. We have never been disappointed. We always order too much, but they pack it up and we enjoy the left overs the next day. The staff are lovely. Wouldnt change anything .

Luna Blu Cocktails and Tapas – YarmWe had a delicious meal at Brooks last night. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. The food was delicious, the staff were great. My only complaint was the heat inside the restaurant. We were on top floor and the temperature was so high it was uncomfortable. We were all sweating so much we couldn't wait to get out of there!! There was an attempt to cool it down with fans but they were not powerful enough. It was a shame because the rest of the experience was good. We probably would have had a desert and another drink but we could not cope with the heat any longer.
Brooks – IlkleyI found it not easy to book a reservation online for the John Paul Jones. I only managed to do this after ringing the reception at the Bay, Filey where a very friendly and efficient receptionist emailed a link to me. The staff and atmosphere at the restaurant were very good. The menu could have done with more vegetarian/ vegan options. and also more gluten free options. I felt that the food was well prepared and tasty on the whole, but portions were on the small side for their cost, such as the fish and chips and pizzas and childrens' pizzas.
The John Paul Jones Pub – ScarboroughEasy to see why this is so popular. Great welcome and friendly service. Warm attractive room. Innovative menu with unusual Sri Lancan dishes. With a tapas style selection some are bound to be more to your taste than others but overall, no complaints and will return. Recommend Vegetable Rice, Courgette Lollipops, Beef Carpaccio, Raspberry Slice with superb Gin and Elderflower Sorbet. Good choice of wines at reasonable prices.

The Funny Onion – Bridlington300+ miles from home and through my partners twitter habit (lol) we had found Georgios thanks to honest mum Vicki! Pre-booked, even though it was for a Tuesday, and what a surprise and pleasure to turn up to the restaurant being so busy! A lovely welcome from the great ladies who looked after us and from Giorgio himself. 6 of us dined including our 2 young (5 & 9) girls and without exception, from the gorgeous (yet simple) meatballs starter through to the kids chocolate fudge cake, it was truly delicious! Service was absolutely spot on (I wish my restaurant was as good!) The food was incredible, the prices very reasonable, and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Honestly can't explain how good we felt it was. Any chance you would open one in Devon!!!!!!! Thank you, and now the eldest has moved to Leeds, we have a double reason to trek up more. See you again!
Giorgios Ristorante Italiano – HeadingleyWe had a very enjoyable evening at Brontaes, I had the lamb croquettes which were divine and much larger than I expected followed by the fillet of beef, the potato was sublime and all beautifully seasoned followed by the chocolate cherry love pudding! The service was good and I enjoyed watching the chefs prepare the dishes. The menu was reasonably priced for the quality, definitely recommend. An opportunity for up selling…we had a bottle of white wine, had I been asked if I’d like a glass or bottle of red wine with my beef I would have said yes. Just a suggestion ❤️

The Aegean Taverna – HullWe had a great time at brooks for a late lunch. It was a cosy warm atmosphere we were seated on the 2nd floor. The staff were polite, cheery and attentive and we felt very welcomed. The food was very tasty and we ordered 3 plates each of the tapas to try which were delicious. There was a little wait for the food to come however this could be rectified if we had ordered starters for example which we did not. The bill was a tad pricey because of the additional service charge however it was expected as we ensured we enjoyed ourselves with the food and wine. Definitely will return to try more of the menu.

Duke Of Wellington – HarewoodFirst time eating here and wasn't dissapointed everything cooked to perfection had the sirloin steak, portions are extremely generous for the price, atmosphere lovely and staff helpful, polite and attentive. Myself and my husband will definitely book a table again had a lovely evening celebrating my birthday.

Maxis – YorkLost count of how may times we have visited both anlaby road and newland. The team always fantastic, recommendations spot on. The wine list great selection and recommendation with the meal choice spot on. Friendly staff, owner clearly has passion and puts customer first. And visible to speak with. 5 star across the board. Only one thing is myself and wife go often however sometimes take our son. A small child's menu would help to encourage early dinners who want to eat the delicious food. We took our son again yesterday 7 and was not the only child and had to order him a starter and he sad some of our chips. However still the best resturant in hull for value, portion sizes, staff and great food. Will continue ue to go back for years to come.
