Booked for lunch to celebrate my husband and my joint birthday celebration as my husband loved our last visit due to the selection of fish dishes. Unfortunately, there was a limited fish selection on the lunch menu. The starter I ordered they didn’t have. Had to change my main course too. Went for the burger, brioche bun must have been frozen as crumbled into bits as soon as you touched it. Left half of it. Hubby ended up going for prawn linguine in his quest for fish! £12.95 for 5 prawns in a lot of linguine pasta. Very disappointed. Waitress offered us a free round of drinks at next visit due to poor food but have us no voucher of evidence of offer just took name and number!

food was divine (as usual) and the service was as good as you would expect. I had the mussels to start which were excellent and Mandy had the crab which she said she enjoyed. for the main courses , Mandy's meal had a little too much sauce, has did mine but that is a small thing to gripe about considering the excellent quality and amount of food. WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOON.

Excellent! After the long enforced break we enjoyed three evenings at the Magpie where the range of fish offered and the quality of cooking and presentation was superb as ever. The friendly service complimented the meals - we never ate the same dish or fish twice!
