Fuji Hiro – Leeds City CentreHad a lovely meal with friends on Wednesday. Can recommend the smoked mackerel pate, the chicken ballotine, and the fish cakes. The meat dishes - lamb or beef are simply done but well cooked . Everything is nicely presented. My third visit in recent weeks and the food has been great on each occasion. Great to see the pub so well supported mid-week.

Few small suggestions - offer a drink at the bar rather than walking guests straight to table - and be a bit more attentive if a guest chooses to sit in a seat where you haven’t placed the cutlery. I wish this place all the best because the cookery is sublime. If you live near Horsforth - visit and support!
Brontae’s – HorsforthRecently visited for a family birthday meal as this is always my favourite go-to restaurant when in Whitby. As always, it never disappoints. Fantastic choice of dishes to suit most tastes with a great value two or three course winter menu. All of our food was cooked to perfection and although we were a large family group, everything was served on time with no hassle by Magpie’s lovely, friendly staff. Their long-standing reputation for quality and service is undeniably deserved.

The food was ok but not the usual standard, portions seemed smaller, the onions in the mussel licker were still raw and the cheese sauce on the fish was tasteless. This used to be a real treat for our family but I don’t think we would rush back.

The food was hot and very good quality well presented. We would recommend a visit here for a meal and if we return to York we would visit the restaurant again.
