We attended as a party of 6 on the 16.7.21. Our booking was at 8pm. The Restaurant was full to capacity which whilst pleasing to see the minimalist decor/ lack of soft furnishings meant that it was incredibly loud and noisy and conversations were difficult to be had over the table. It took over 20 minutes to attempt to order simply a drink and the waiter who served our drinks could not take our food order. We waited another 20 minutes to have our food order taken only to be told at this point that a number of key menu items were not available. We were considering the Meter but was told at this time it was not possible. With a vegrterian in the party the choice of meals for them were limited. Our order was eventually taken and at 9.10 our starters were served. The food was good and it was ag this point we were informed a menu ordered as a main course was no no longer available. This was challenged and staff were not very hospitable simply stating what can we expect its a busy Friday night. At 9.40 our Main courses were brought as a token jesters a spicy cheese dip was offered. The main courses were large in size and good. We would consider returning knowing that previously the service and food was outstanding, however we would not recommend going on a weekend as they clearly could not cope with the demand of so many covers.

Fish and chips done very well. We had 2 small portions of cod and chips. The quality of the fish was excellent and the batter was very light and not greasy at all. if you want to sample good fish and chips in Whitby we would recommend a visit to The Magpie.

Absolutely gorgeous food! Amazing Italian or Greek options. Highly recommend for a quick bite or a special occasion. Great service, wonderful atmosphere. We will be back.

Would highly recommend great food & friendly staff. The night we went was really hot so it was great that the doors were fully open. With no holidays abroad this year it at least gave us the feeling on being in Greece

Excellent service and the food is always consistently good and well presented. I am a good regular to this establishment and will continue to be as I am never disappointed with how welcoming the staff and front of house are ! Also value for money ! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our meal ,service and cleanliness first class Fish was excellent but the chips were not quite up to their usual standard as a bit soft This did not affect our experience and will be back

Great food, fabulous service, so good we booked as a stop off for our return journey from the Lakes. Loved the special salmon and prawn linguini, perfect hint of chilli. Have marked it on the road atlas for next trip up north!

We visited recently and wasn’t fully satisfied with the meal like we usually are, I ordered the sirloin and it was undercooked to my liking and tasted raw, my partner had the burger and thought it was try and lacking any moisture, we both ended up both being very ill and being sick numerous times through out the night. This is very unlike this place as we visit often however the staff and service was 10/10 as they were able to cater to our allergy needs.
