Excellent food and service- been many times and the Magpie always lives up to expectations! Fabulous gluten free choices, including deserts! Staff knowledgeable and friendly.

A few suggestions for the restaurant: 1: I had a chicken katsu curry bento. Please look at your competition for ideas eg kokoro as the chicken was flat and dry. 2: Please ensure that you are using Sushi rice and not long grain rice. Long grain is more difficult to pick up with chopsticks 3: Could the waitress turn down the volume when she is talking to the kitchen staff as it sounded like she was berating them for something. the customers don't need to hear this. 4: If you are going to advertise sushi, please can it be available Positive was the free flowing green tea and the Enka music playing

What a find! I'm not often in the City centre on a working day but this is my new go to place for Business lunch / catch ups. I'm a Coeliac so great to see GF friendly dishes clearly idenitified on the menu. Really tasty food, great waiting staff and nice space.

Amply portioned, brilliantly tasty food served by very friendly staff in a comfortable environment. Would not hesitate to return and might be a little more adventurous than fish and chips, which just had to be done on the first trip!

Every time we have eaten here the food has always been great.

Lovely food and lots of gluten free options. I felt safe! Starters were tasty- loved the crab, partner had the haddock and prawn in leek sauce for main where I had cod and chips. Cod and chips were not at all greasy / batter was crunchy but not too thick. We were well looked after and really enjoyed the food and wine.

What can i say .............................. Service impecable food was just mmmm perfect I Had Calzone my wife had Steak she loved it i was same i must admit i am fussy calzone i asked for speciasl fillings and all came exactly ( one thing i did mention was the tomato base was different to what im used to ) no disrepect to the food it was perfect. I well recommend this place 100%

Best seafood I have ever had in the UK. Do try their main crab dish and the seafood platter taster. Super nice. Will happily come back again if I ever visit Whitney.

Met some friends for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday this weekend. This was my first time visiting and we will definitely be back. The food was amazing, Sunday lunch was perfect with the best Yorkshire’s I’ve ever had. The staff were lovely, especially one lady (maybe the owner) who asked what we were celebrating and came back out with a birthday brownie and candle to sing happy birthday to me with the staff. Made my day extra special. We can’t wait to visit again and try more of the menu, such a lovely pub and relaxing atmosphere, highly highly recommend.

Brought my family here for my Dad's birthday and we could not have enjoyed it more. The staff were so friendly and really helpful (we didn't know what to order!) and the food was delicious. Little Milo was a highlight of the evening too!

There are few restaurants I have been to where I have been made to feel so welcome right off the bat. But Brontae's is one of them! Hospitality at its finest, followed by three stunning courses -- the smoked mackerel pâté (with pea tart and trimmings), the slow-braised Jacob's Ladder (melted in the mouth, no wonder it appears to be a firm favourite among regulars), and the Lemon Cello tart -- I couldn't fault them even if I wanted to. Whether you're local to Leeds or visiting from afar, this is the only restaurant you need to go to.
