This is a must place to visit if you ever go to Whitby. The whole experience is 5 Star. Excellent customer service with phenomenal food. Ensure you book as it gets extremely busy

I visited The Duke of Wellington on Sunday 13th June 2021... the weather was lovely so we sat outside. We dined from the Sunday Menu... it did not dissappoint! I had Scallops to start followed by the Roast Pork Sunday roast, my partner had The Chorizo Scotch Egg followed by The Duke Burger. Our food was perfect, each dish was full of flavour, well presented and we enjoyed every mouthful. The portions were great and food quality was brilliant. The drinks menu had a good variety, quality wines and lagers for us to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely return... I would highly recommend The Duke of Wellington to my family and friends as one to visit! Well done to the new team!

Wow!! Seafood platter complimented with a bottle of champagne was absolutely amazing. Starters of garlic prawns and crab pate was also so tasty. Service could not be beaten and the restaurant was spotless. Book a visit, you won’t be disappointed 5*

Excellent food & service

We ate here on the 8th June at 1445 x 6 people & it couldn't have been more perfect. Table was ready when we arrived - There was someone waiting outside to greet us - make sure you book! Fabulous table by the window Service, food all amazing !! I had the cod & chips & it was just enough Well done guys, absolutely suburb xx

We had booked in advance as it was our anniversary. The meal was delicious and the service was excellent and staff very friendly.

I attended with my family on the 13th June to celebrate my birthday. The meal was so good and thoroughly enjoyed by us all - so much so we have booked again to come again on Wednesday.

Great food and good atmosphere

Fab visit on a Friday evening. Open to the public not just for Bay residents. We walked across from Primrose Haven. Simple menu with enough choice for everyone. Service was great, they worked their socks off and always with a smile. Food was good and portions plenty. Few barky dogs but not really a problem. Really enjoyed our visit.

This was our second visit. The food again was excellent. Look forward to many more evenings.

We visited the magpie cafe on 9th June 2021 and as always the meal was first class. The staff are very attentive and friendly a real credit to the Magpie. The menu is extensive but my husband would always recommend the fish pie, be sure to have a good appetite when you visit, portions are large! Booking a table is recommended as this is a very popular cafe.

A superb evening with friends, staff excellent and service to match the incredible food!

Booked in advance as in Whitby for a few days break and didn’t want to miss out on a visit to the Magpie we had excellent service and the fish chips and mushy peas lived up to their reputation would recommend it to everyone.

Great choice offered in menu and friendly service

Very slow service not enough staff at all. Had to wait ages for drinks and food. My husband ordered a period period pizza which came with only 6 tiny pieces of chicken and 6 slices of chorizo for the price disgusting. My scampi was fine. I had a dessert of chocolate and raspberry torte supposedly with ice cream mine came with cream by this time I couldn't be bothered complaining For the price of the meal altogether not good

Best fish n chips and proper mushy peas.Jam roly poly was amazing and beautifully presented.Staff lovely too
