Nice pub with lovely grub!
The Sportsman – SheffieldMe and my family visited Whitby yesterday and this restaurant for my mother’s birthday they had travelled from Bradford to our home in Driffield and we decided to have a day out in Whitby. My parents had been to your restaurant in the past and said it was lovely. We placed our order and when it arrived we were all very disappointed with the quality of the food, my mum and husband had the steak pie which they both said had burnt bits and the pie seemed overcooked or maybe was a warm up also there was no veg just chips and some gravy? also the salad my daughter got alongside her fish and chips consisted of 1 small piece of lettuce and lemon? the fish looked large because it was long but very thin hardly no fish?? my 3 sausages did not looked cooked on the inside so were left. such a waste. also 4 teas were ordered but only 2 tea bags in the jar of hot water to share between 4 people the teas cost over £6., the bread and butter was a extra which i did think would have come with the fish and chips not an extra cost. when the bill arrived at £57 i nearly fell of my chair we were all very disappointed one good point was the staff were very polite and helpful we left annoyed at the food and the cost. to be honest i felt like i had just been robbed!
Quarter Deck – WhitbyDeewali, and there isn't a better place to celebrate the occasion than Prashad. So naturally, we were here back again for a celebratory meal, and an excellent meal it turned out to be too. The other diners must have thought so too, as the restaurant was packed. Thank you Prashad for a very enjoyable evening.
Prashad – Bradford17th October 2009 - Adequate nothing special. Arbroath smoked fish Japanese style interesting but no wrong on so many levels Arbroath smokie with soya, wasabi and pickled ginger on sticky rice smoked salmon might have worked. Confit of duck tender but not roasted till crispy a rather flacid skin spoiled an easy dish. The crab starter was OK but hey dressed crab not difficult. The chicken dish was unmemorable. Food techniques if refined could have lead to a more memorable evening.
Beatson House Restaurant – BarnsleyI've been going to Brook's on and off since a Christmas do in about 1998. Its a great place to eat, really tasty food just on the right side of not-too-fussy. Efficient and professional staff, some interesting booze to be had...at the end of the night you can kick back in the upstairs lounge with a last drink. Did I mention you can draw on the table clothes?
Brooks – Brighouselaila mirza should work there. i would payy billions to go if she did. that new waitress charlotte is amazing, she is so kind and caring, friendly and always willing help.
Mio Gusto – Keighleyawful... Having waited an hour and a half for a takeaway, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a box full of tasteless, greasy Indian food. Perhaps more edible after a night out
Saffron – RoundhayThe food at this restaurant is absolutely spot on. Eaten here a few good times now and all the dishes have been excellent. The masalla fish starter is plentiful and well flavoured. The seekh kebabs are also good (served on a sizzler with onions) which is always a bonus! On to the main courses and i can highly recommend the Balti Garlic Chicken Chilli, and karahi fish and lamb bhuna. If you like garlic naans then you wont be disappointed. The garlic naans here are MASSIVE! and very very tasty indeed.. Overall the food is excellent, and the choice varied. Try it, You wont be disappointed!
Saffron – RoundhayWent to Zam Zam last night after seeing it on Sugarvine. Very passable indeed. Bahji's were good, the wife's Biriyani was spot on and my Vindaloo hit the spot also. Very friendly staff, would definitely return.
Zam Zam – Leeds City CentreIf you want 'posh' fish and chips then this is the place to be seen!! We travelled all the way from Queensland in Australia and had dinner here one night in late September 2009 and we were not disappointed and it was well worth the journey. The Haddock was cooked to perfection with just the right firmness and the batter was crisp, golden and not at all oily or greasy. Chips were also your normal fresh fare. The curry sauce was nice and spicy without being too hot and the mushy peas were good. Hats off to the team at Graveley's the 2 elder gents dressed in colourful waistcoats and we were made to feel most welcome. Don't go here in your dress downs as you will feel out of place as all the customers were dressed up on the night we were here, you could almost smell the aroma of money in the restaurant. If Graveley's want to expand to Australia I want to be part of the action!!!!
Graveleys Of Harrogate – HarrogateI had a fantastic meal today with my family, good priced good food and good service, every one is friendly and happy so makes you at ease, good menu verity very good ,reasonable priced is excellent, i would recommend this place to any one and every one.
Flappit Springs – KeighleyWe came to dine here on Sunday evening and learned that Prashad has been given yet another prestigious accolade - ‘Best International Restaurant’ -from ‘Yorkshire Life’ magazine. The award was won against stiff competition from other restaurants across Yorkshire. Well, Kaushy, Mrinal and their hard-working and enthusiastic team of workers have achieved it once again. It is not really a surprise as the meals here are always guaranteed to be the very best and of the highest standards.
Prashad – BradfordWell what can i say, Zara's indian restaurant is the best by far that i have ever tried, the staff are very friendly and the prices are very reasonable, i use this restaurant once a week and the food is constantly very good, they also do draft beers and lager. i promise you will not be disappointed. it is the best by far in tickhill, taj cottage is not as good no were near.
Zaras Restaurant – DoncasterA fantastic pub and really friendly hosts! Definitely one of the best pubs I've been to and the food is fantastic. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in the Halifax/Huddersfield area!
Duke of York – HalifaxWhenever we are hungry at home and we ask ourselves "what could you just eat?" - the answer without reservation is "a Lantern steak". For 40 years on a regular basis we have ordered the same delicious meal. The chairs may not be the comfiest but the food is yummy and the value excellent. Don't ever retire Andreas - you and your lovely daughter Nicki ARE the Lantern to us and all your other regulars.
The Lantern Restaurant – Hullit was very nice been a few times , going in 2 week for my birthday , im goin in pj bottoms hehe , definitely first choice on cantonese food :)
Wok 1 Cantonese Restaurants – DoncasterI have been going to Aldos for many years, its my fave restaurant! We always have birthday meals, girly nights and the romantic nights! So when i got engaged i asked if we could hold our little celebration there! Our engagement party was the best ever! They put on a fab buffet for us, use of the upstairs bar, use of nearly the whole restaurant! And the food was fantastic! Bye bye to open sandwiches! Hello meatballs!!!! Oh it was lovely!! Everyone enjoyed it! After we filled our bellies we then had a little party! There was music and plenty of room to dance! It was the best party i have ever had!! Thank you to all staff who made it a unforgettable evening!! Jo and Chris! Xx
Aldo’s Pizzeria – CleckheatonI have been here loads of time and we always have had great food there.... Very good atmosphere and the pethis as simply wonderful.... We 3 people go there almost every other week and order 5-6 starters each time as we can never make up our mind on those wonderful dishes to miss any of our favorites....
