we went to the golden grid on monday 8th of june and the fish and chips were excellent i would recommend it to all

Someone had recommended William & Victoria wine bar to us for lunch, so we thought we would try it and couldn't believe our luck to find they were doing 2 courses for a tenner! Delicious and fantastic value and a very warm welcome.

Just as good as I remembered - tried the beer-battered prawns this time and was very impressed. Wouldn't mind a change from the standard "Spanish restaurant frozen desserts" menu, though.

On 7.6.09 12 of us ate here at lunch time and it was absolutely first class - service, food preparation, presentation, content, variety and the whole job lot. Would go back here again anytime I was in the area.

As one of my regular haunts when in Hull, I can honestly state I have yet to have a bad night at Operetta! The food is authentic, lovingly prepared and presented and consistently great. I have taken groups of very discerning diners on several occasions and never had a single complaint from any of my guests. I agree with another comment that the view out of the window is a little bleak but please berate the council about this, not the restaurant. Besides, who's interested in the view out of the window when you've just had a Filletto Modenese presented to you??

This place is FANTASTIC! The first time i went here was a Thursday and i was back the following Saturday. The food is amazing, the service is great and the venue is beautiful. It puts the city centre Italian restaurants to shame. The food is reasonably priced and the drinks are pretty cheap. Cocktails for £4 each compared to £6+ elsewhere. BEWARE, AFTER YOU GO HERE ONCE YOU WILL BE HOOKED FOR LIFE!!!

good food but not as good as Tulsi Vegetarian Restaurant where I had the choice of all you can eat buffet or a la carte menu with a cold pint of Cobra

my family and i have eaten in fellinis over the past eight years and we can honestly say that there is no better family restaurant in the north east. I understand that the manager took over the place five years ago and you can see the difference. There is a great deal more attention to detail the fish is fantastic and the whole feel of the place is warm and like being in a family home. The place has won numerous awards but there can be no greater award than the customers who come back time after time. Many other restaurants have opened in middlesbrough since fellinis opened but they are quite simply not in their league. They will never be able to give what i call the fellinis touch. They may look snazzy but they have no soul or passion the way fellinis has. Fantastic keep up the good work. And by the way children eat free.

Fantastic food - totally recommended!

5 or 6 years since my last visit and early Friday night found this out of town modern and airy unit in a nest of eateries near Asda, not so busy. I was concerned that the recession was biting this part of Wakefield adjacent to Sandal, traditionally a wealthier suburb. Sadly this was not a great eating experience. My sirloin steak had the consistency last seen being chewed on Im a celebrity get me out of here..it was replaced without question.."must be a bad batch we have had a few sent back" the waitress offered..Why not take it from the menu then? The chosen replacement chargrilled lamb chops were a hemisphere away from the turgidity of the steak. Delicious tender and cooked superbly. That was the high note although fellow guests found Sea Bass a)excellent and b) Ok a little too much oil. Meatballs were pronounced dull.Pizzas ok. We were overcharged and had a 10% service charge to add insult. A party of 11 with 8 adults we were charged for 6 bottles of Rose as different staff were acting as wine waiter. Only on later reflection did we work this out. We had 4 bottles..Result? Lamb chops 10 Rinaldis 1. Other options preferred for future family celebrations

I highly recommend this pub for there meals. It is a friendly service.

My wife and I have been to Marios quite a few times and I can honestly say I haven't had a bad meal there yet. Mario and Tina are great hosts, The foods excellent and the prices are reasonable, what more can I say! All in All time well spent.

Just like to say a big thanks to the Golden Ball for making my recent Anniversary a swinging experience. Me and Mrs P set off in our classique car, windows down, Status Quo on the 8 track...after a brief but oh so exhilerating drive down the old Whiston bypass, we happened upon the GB. The meal, well where do I start... Mrs P opted for the steak with Blue cheese sauce, foregoing the pint of laugh and titter for a nice glass of Pinot Grigio(well chilled of course. I went for the same steak, well done, but with the pepper sauce and the aforementioned pint of L&T. We were well impressed, foregoing the pudding course, we decided, saving a few coppers, that we would mosey on down chez Bruns and partake of the Coffee and Wafer thin mint in the relative luxury of our very own salon de the. My missus is ever so fond of her Golden Ball experience and she has asked me to take her up the oxo tower in the very near future.

Slightly disappointed, the menu available is missing some items that are shown on the "online menu" Appeared to wait for ages before being acknowledged by waitress. When ordered, the food arrived fast. The fishcake starter was very tasty though and the steak pie and gravy very nice. Shame about the dry lacklustre salad and the rubbery uncooked vegetables though. The garlic mushrooms in "sauce" were really swimming in a watery "milk" mixture. Price was just acceptable but nothing to write home about.

a regular visitor to Alfies, great food, freshly prepared and the value of the buffet is excellent. A must visit place to go.

A great place to eat, the food was fantastic and the people very accommodating. Would like an option to book a table on website though as it is difficult getting through on the telephone

A lovely country pub with fantastic food. A good atmosphere with well mannered staff~ first choice!
