had an amazing meal here - the chocolate fondant with peanut butter ice cream should not be missed - I loved it and I am not a chocolate fan - so light, the ice cream was amazing - one of the best things i have ever had. I wish that i had the rabbit as my husband did and it was fantastic too - I had the sea bass which I felt could have been better. Would love to go back soon. Great value for money - the chef came out too and chatted etc.

An oasis in the Wakefield desert serving top quality food with a smile. The atmosphere is very laid back and has no heirs or graces making it for a very relaxing place to be after work or post drinking session. The main reason I love the Raj is because the waiters and bar staff are very genuine and the place has an honest hard working atmosphere. My favourite local Indian.

We went to the Foxhouse Inn for the Carvery. The food and the service was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was the best I’ve ever tasted. my compliments to the chef. My husband really enjoyed it, and so did our children. Its nice to have proper cooked food and very reasonably priced.......has become my Sunday thing now...Ardo...ton kalosinado

THIS NEWLY DECORATED HAVEN, IN HESSLE IS A VERY PLEASANT PLACE. THE NEW OWNERS ARE WORKING HARD TO MAINTAIN A HIGH STANDARD OF FOOD AND BEER QUALITY, WHILST MAKING THE SURROUNDINGS MORE PLEASANT AND WELCOMING, IN THE WAKE OF THE SMOKING BAN. WELL WORTH A VISIT.

I am happy to say that the spice cottage in Heckmondwike. West Yorkshire had the most outstanding service. We were greeted by fantastic staff. Atmosphere as great, very relaxing the food was fantastic!!!! Price was very reasonable. As we are aware there is s spice cottage in Wakefield, I wish I could of said the same for them but I can't. They need to be picking a few tips from the restaurant in Heckmondwike!!!! The manager in Heckmondwike spice cottage certainly knows how a restaurant should be operating.

Even yorkshiremen would not complain about the price of food at Fuji Hiro. Inexpensive and positively mouthwatering and I make sure I visit every time I go to Leeds. The menu itself is fairly limited but this ensures that the food served to you is perfect in taste and substance. The decor puts me in mind of a formica table-topped greasy spoon cafeteria and this adds to the charm of the place. I cannot recommend Fuji Horo highly enough. If you have not been there you are missing out. If you enjoy good food, good service and good prices without fuss and pretence then this is the place for you.

Very good food but be careful, they charge you £2 for an extra amount of custard with your sweet (about 2 large spoonfuls) - disgraceful.

This old pub has now become hidden so well, that only locals have any chance of finding it. But visitors should make the effort. A good, sound pub meal, but with enough choice to satisfy the jaded, is served by friendly staff at a pocket friendly price. The single bar is supplemented by a terraced garden area.Traditional ales available. It provides a cracking lunch time venue within a couple of minutes by car from the town centre. Sandwiches from around £3 and "main meals" about £7

A Jacobean mansion with delightful walled garden offers an unexpected setting, near Halifax, for an upmarket type meal, or accommodation vastly different from the chain hotels. Panelled dining rooms sparkle at night with traditional napery and the bar area offers an entrance to the garden for summer evening aperitifs. A well planned menu should tempt allcomers and the food is presented at a high standard to match the surroundings. The well selected wine list is varied and fair. Service was pleasant and professional; an interesting misselection, by the chef, of the salt cellar, when a sugar shaker was required, produced an alarming creme brulee based concoction, but it was quickly replaced and all puddings were removed, unprovoked by complaint, from the final bill. Definitely a hidden gem to be wrestled from the grasp of knowledgeable locals and to gain favour with your paramour, or to impress your elders. Surprisingly, Sunday lunch is not available. Budget about £40 per head to include house wine.

This wonderful Thai restaurant has quickly become my favourite eating establishment. The service is prompt and attentive without being fawning, the ambience is simple and relaxed but it's the food which is always allowed to be the star. Simple fresh flavours and authentic dishes are always prepared perfectly. I'd gladly eat here every day (and have been caught eating at their Headingley cafe on a lunchtime and the Guiseley restaurant the same evening.) The pricing is very reasonable for thai food, so you may find yourself tempted to do likewise. If you've not tried it yet, you're missing out.

First rate Thai food in an informal setting. The emphasis is on very fresh, clean and authentic flavours served promptly and with minimum fuss.

I often go to this restaurant with my partner and every time we go we are very satisfied by the delicious 3 course meal we have, the fantastic, friendly service and the great (cheap!) cost. I advise all of you out there to try the amazing chocolate glory dessert - what a way to finish your perfect meal. Treat Yourself!

Have been regular's here for over 10 years. Food is fantastic. Best indian food we have ever tasted. His garlic naan bread is to die for. Bangla lager is very nice, a little pricey but worth it. Service can be slow as all food is cooked to order but it is well worth waiting for. A taste sensation. If indian food is your passion and you are willing to wait for the best, then you must visit Jamal.

Tried their Sunday lunch - huge portions, and quick service for fresh food. Liked the variety of background music here - very mixed. Wish i lived a bit closer to it. Bit hard to find though.

A brilliant location, very homely with wonderful selection of cask ales and lagers. Alex is the landlord,ex Royal Navy, and a great character, down to earth bloke. The food is all home cooked and a delight to see and eat! Alex has all types of bands/artists performing on a regular basis outdoors, what a setting...the views are outstanding, great for country walks. Looking forward to the next visit.

I have been to this restaurant on many occasions and each time the food was excellent. The quality superb with a choice to suit everyone's taste. Staff always friendly. Bar meals are the same as the restaurant but smoking is currently allowed in the bar (role on July 1st). The carvery is well recommended but leave room for a sweet from the trolley.
