I stumbled on this gem of a place whilst working in Leeds and since then I've been back three times and am planning to go this Friday too! The food is fresh, tasty and there's such a variety, and all reasonably priced. Also (as other reviewers have mentioned) they have lots of little authentic Japanese items which you don't get in any other Japanese restaurant except in Japan! This is the best one I have been to in the UK, I only wish it was in my home city!

What a great restaurant! Went to Leeds for my birthday and chose this place from reviews and was not disappointed. I had the vegetarian banquet (soup, 4 mini-starters, 2 mains and bread for £18.00 per head) and my husband had a fantastic seafood stew for £9.00. Fantastic food and great value for money.

OK food with reasonable service. Good chips! Food a bit basic but for the price charged it was ok. Manager was a bit OTT.

Good food, well presented, fresh and very tasty (if you are sick of Chinese food that all tastes the same - this is the place for you). Staff attend tables cheerfully and efficiently - but do not impose . . . brilliant! Easy and safe parking (unlike our last trip to the city centre). Sizzling squid with ginger and spring onion . . . mmmm! Thanks Northsea!

This was our 1st visit to the Baan Thai-it truly was an absolute amazing visit-Sat 12/5/07-The tofu & veg clr soup-fab-mixed seafood in spicy sauce & bazil-wonderful with garlic & ginger rice-beautiful!!! My husband devoured his pork meatballs n chill sauce-yummy-followed with sliced roast duck- WE DEFINITELY BE RETURNING in a few weeks time! All was freshly cooked! Thai wine-gorgeous- thanks for beautiful meal-Best by far!!

Third visit this year. It must be good or we wouldn't keep coming back!! The atmosphere is great, the service excellent,and the choice of food on both the menu and the "specials" boards is outstanding. A "must" for eating out in Wakefield.

Eaten at this lovely traditional pub a few times and always had a good meal. Went last week and new chef has improved menu and quality of meals. If you like great pub food this place is must. Good beer garden too. Service is informal and friendly.

Atmosphere and understatement! What a truly authentic and fantastic surroundings with a busy feel! Loved the food opted for the Banquet 4 of us eating! Def go again

After hearing about the myrtle on radio aire. We decided to give it a go to see if it was everything it was made out to be. It certainly was, great food and value for money. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel like we were regulars which was great. A very traditional pub while still keeping up to date with modern day needs. We will definitely return.

Very nice restaurant with delicious meals. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. I especially recommend you to have "Pacanga".

Although a very pleasant setting, and excellent service, could do with moving the smoking out of the eating area altogether rather than waiting for smoking ban to come into force. But Service is fast and efficient ad very friendly

The location is actually Sowood but that aside I love this inn! Lovely views down the valley from the garden area outside in summer and return visits are always a pleasure. Excellent food, excellent location and friendly and efficient service!

I often eat out in York and have found the Living Room the best in town. The food is superb, the service is friendly and efficient and the cocktails are fab! I would highly recommend this Cocktail Bar/Restaurant to all!

I have eaten here twice recently : the first time on New Year's Eve 2006 when we had a memorable night out with fantastic food and then last week when it was my birthday Again the food was excellent -authentic ,home -made style sauces to accompany the tortellini and a reasonably good wine list. The owner was present and was everything a host should be Our initial table was a bit too near the door for comfort but he switched us immediately I complained. Good value and highly recommended but you have to book well in advance to be sure of a table at the weekend

Very good and well presented food, the only complaint would be that the portions are too big. Had a potato and black pudding salad smothered in a rich buttery sauce and topped with a poached egg. Could have gone home happy after the starter, but then had a wonderful broccoli and mushroom soup and a Barnsley Chop for main course. The chop can only be described as a joint of lamb and I'm afraid I didn't do it the justice. I was going to give the desert menu a miss, but overheard a rather well-to-do old lady telling her guests when their lemon meringue, "don't look at what you can't eat, just eat what you can". This sound advice led me to the best ice cream I have ever tasted, which finished off an excellent meal.
