We were there on Saturday night and everything was absolutely great. We almost tried everything from the menu between 6 people. Plates were presentable, the meals were delicious and staff were very lovely My husband who had a birthday, was served a surprise birthday cupcake from house and it was a very genuine surprise. Just had a lovely meal. Nice large spacious room with no squeezing past other eaters. Friendly staff. Good portions. Well recommended for a nice comfortable time with no hassle

i have eaten here a few times and the food is absolutely gorgeous. It is cooked right in front of you freshly on the barbecue. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the prices are basically in line with the rest in the area. I have been here of a daytime and an evening and have never been rushed, its nice to take your time. The food may take time coming but you know it has not been pre-coooked and is never undercooked. I would totally recommend this place without a doubt, but i would recommend that you make your own mind up and try it.

We took Janes mum for a meal for her birthday and were treated wonderfully. The atmosphere was relaxed but professional. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this restaurant to any of our friends, family and colleagues and next time we go we will be trying the Mezedes.

we visited her in may on a work afternoon out. only 6 of us at 3pm and we struggled to even order - never mind get extra drinks etc. it wasnt busy as it was a weekday but the waiting staff were AWFUL. we waited over 25 minutes just to get our order taken.I will go again but next time i will complain at shoddy service if i get it!

This was the worst restaurant i have ever had the displeasure of eating in. Where do i start ? The waiter that attendend us (we later told he was the owner) spoke to us very rudely, fast and was very unpleasant, We felt like we were rushed from start to finish, and guess what?! The bill was on the table before we had finished our meal. We were seated right away. We waited 10 minutes for a server and another 10 for our drinks and bread. That should have been a sign to leave, but we were starving. I understand if a server is in the weeds and is behind, but this guy just seemed to disappear for minutes at a time. I finally asked him when our dinner would be served and he said he would check on it. 9 minutes later he arrives with our food. It was lukewarm and frankly, pretty lame for the money you pay. Save time, money and frustration. Stay away from here. Service is Nil, slow, and the food very overpriced. Its just a poorly ran establishment. And the food smells seriously weird.

This place is an absolute joke! Very bad atmosphere, raw undercooked food, Vegetables on the plates stinks like the toilet sink, very very bad presentation, very very bad management and the worst server ever. He actually argued with us about our problems while dining there and when we complaint about one of the staff member killing a huge spider with a cloth napkin, he said 'its just a spider innit' VERY VERY Dirty bathrooms equals dirty kitchen, confusing decor, very old dated, servers who obviously don't want to be there and Manager who doesn't know what to do or sat when issues arrive waitress reason she got seated a large party, that is why in an hour she dropped off our food and never came back except to see if we were done and wanted desert. TAKE MY WORD, STAY AWAY!

Extremely rude service and overpriced. One of the chefs used the customer toilet while I was there and just soaked his hand with water and didn't use any hand wash. I was shocked. There is absolutely great places in and around the Mossley Hill that worth looking at. I've never been in a place where no one looks happy and they all looking at you like they hate you. Even though the food was ""ok"", this was the most expensive meal we had, and we felt that it was well overpriced with not much atmosphere inside. And the owner was treating the waitress girl with no respect what so ever, it was very disturbing to watch . And then he came around to ask if everything was ok, we were gonna be sick of his bio smell. I don't think that man had shower since he was born.

The food was mediocre. The prices were outrageous. The service was sub-par. We waited over an hour for our food. The manager blatantly told us that he needed to check our receipt to make sure we were telling the truth. The hostesses mysteriously "misplaced" the comment cards after asking how our visit was. I am appalled by our treatment. This is by far the worst place I've ever been to,Do not ever go to that place. We waited for about 15 min. They never brought us kids menus or offered us drinks.Bad value. There are better places to eat in the area. Overpriced and no atmosphere here. Save your hard earned money and look around. Tip automatically added to bill a bit cheeky to say the least.

I visited the restaurant in May this year with friends,the food was lovely the staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. I will definitely return.

My family had a lovely meal here on Sunday evening. We decided to book at Lings after reading the excellent reviews on Sugarvine we booked a table for 7 people plus a baby and had the £8.95 banquet. It was excellent food and great value, the owner was very friendly and made us all feel very welcome.Only down side as there was no disabled toilet for my Gran, this would not put us off going again though as thanks to the hotel round the corner, Gran was able to use their loo! Would definately recommend this for anyone looking for an excellent meal in a good cnetral location in Southport.

Went on a Monday evening. The staff were very friendly and the service was first class. The food is top class, my wife had the cod for her main meal, I had the salmon; mouth watering good, finished off with Irish Coffees and tiramisu - again faultless. Would recommend without hesitation!

Situated in the Albert Dock, it looks like a traditional French restaurant from the outside. My wife and I after a day shopping in Liverpool One were hungry and wanted to try something different. We liked the look of the place and decided to order some food for lunch. When we entered, it was busy. We managed to find a table and took a seat. Our waitress like most serving there were Eastern European, all looked like they were there doing the job to earn a living. My girlfriend ordered a chicken baguette whilst I ordered fish and chips. The food arrived after 25 mins, the baguette looked like it came from a frozen packet and nothing like a freshly made French baguette that we expected. I had a taste of my girlfriend's chicken baguette, the chicken was dry and tasteless. My fish looked as if it came our of a cheap range supermarket packet and dumped in a deep fry like my chips. It was full of grease and not like a beer battered fish that you'd hope for being in a port like Liverpool. I couldn't help noticing that the waitresses and the chef, who was a right scally from Liverpool, went about their work with no passion or enthusiasm for the food or the job. None of the staff had a smile and never bothered to ask how the food was. The Asian chap at the till who looked like the owner or the manager never asked either how the food was either, he was too busy taking my money and getting me out as fast as he could to serve other customers. The food is overpriced, is of bad quality, the seating most uncomfortable, and the restaurant feels more like a cafe. The toilets are a joke, very smelly and dirty! There are much better eating places to eat a few doors away. My advice is if you want food do yourself a favour and go somewhere else and definitely don't take your partner here. This place is rubbish!

Best restaurant I have been too in the last month. Staff excellent, managers super and couldn't have been made welcome by anyone else food excellent my boys enjoyed the meatball dish and well what can I say about the kletftiko !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a little jewel of a cafe. visited on the 18th of this month.The staff are friendly ,the food ace ,and the prices ,fantastic for the service and well cooked crusine,i found the soups brilliant,.will i return ,you watch me in September.D F Baird

Since my last review I sent in 2006, Mei Mei is still my favourite eating place. Good service and warm, friendly staff. Food always excellent.
