Had a great meal on Father's Day for my husband. Great hot rock steak. Lovely staff and great venue.

Wow that was some meat feast! My folks took me for my birthday. I had ribs to start and then an awesome burger with a donut in it! A great milkshake in a cool retro milk bottle. I even ordered one of their t-shirts. Reds True Barbecue is my current favourite burger/meat American style venue!

Sadly a disastrous end to a fantastic father’s day. We should have known when we were forced to ask for a menu after 15 minutes that there was a service problem. Prior to this the poppadums and dips were virtually thrown at the table by the waiter after he had fumbled his way through our drinks order. Thirty minutes in we had finally ordered our meal, with the express request that the meals for our 2 and 4 year children come as soon as possible as it was now 6 pm. About 1 and 15 minutes in the starter arrives, all is good if not a little on edge how long does it take to fry a bit of onion into a ball shape, and dip a cube of chicken into spice and cook it? Ohh hang missing chicken nuggets and chips for the children! Virtually called liars we are told we never made this request. It looked like the meal was then cooked by the delivery driver in his jeans and t-shirt! Turned out he was the delivery driver.In house entertainment on the very next table, Involving some drunken chap wandering in off the street and eating the scraps from previous customer; he had obviously eaten here before and was fully aware of the service issues!We had to clear our own table onto another one which had just been left, other customers followed suit leading to scrap pile in the middle of the restaurant.Around two and a half hours in we had a main course, food was fine, we were not and the whole meal was consumed by very hungry and angry family not a pleasant end to the day.Ordering drinks was ridiculously hard as they never appeared on multiple occasions result was going to the bar yourself. The place was sweltering and sat in orange darkness as it appears they don’t know how to replace a light bulb! or there is something they don't want you to see.We heard other families complaining and threatening to walk out which ultimately happened, at one point I heard the manager threatening to sue a fellow customer if she left. When we were done we told the manager of the restaurant we were unhappy with the service we didn’t want a free meal and we were going to pay, but we wanted an apology. Which lead to him, squirming and blaming his customers for the lack of staff. We recommend he tell customers there is a delay in service. Which we were then told he had done, btw this had never spoken to us all night and now realise we were avoided. We were then told we could leave and don’t have to go back. Bad management, dire service, reputation destroyed in one evening!Thanks to the delivery driver who arrange the children’s meal so fast, not sure if you have the required food hygiene certs to be in the kitchen but hey! Will avoid forever.

Would just like to thank all the staff at the Duke of York for making Father's Day a lovely occasion for myself and my family. The food was great and the service spot on nothing was too much trouble. As you can imagine with a party of 17 there were a couple of hiccups but these were dealt with both promptly and professionally. We had such a lovely visit the girly's have booked to go back next weekend for an afternoon tea... can't wait.

We stayed at this great Manchester hotel on Thursday night and had a great meal in one of their restaurants The Steak & Lobster. Grilled lobster with salad and fries. Gorgeous. Excellent service from the waitress who certainly got us drinking wine! Next time we stay we will try Opus One their more fine dining restaurant.

4 of us have been today for Sunday Lunch. Food superb, Service excellent, Surroundings beautiful. Could not fault anything will certainly be returning. 14/06/2015

Went to the Vinery for afternoon tea - it was lovely. The service was excellent they couldn't do enough for us. They even wrapped up the left overs for us to take away. Would definitely go again.

First time I went to kosmos and I must say, food was super and service was good as well. We will go back again.

Visited for Sunday Lunch on 31st May with my wife and in laws and enjoyed a delicious carvery lunch in the Last Drop Inn. i've visited before and the pub wasn't open so it's great to see it now open with a pool table, fruit machine & jukebox..Will be visiting again soon

Comfort food at its best!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch at La Turka yesterday. It looks great and the food was too. Tapas style meatballs and fishcakes. Service was friendly and helpful.

My daughter had saved hard to take me for a birthday treat. Steaks had to be returned to kitchen to be cooked to our original order, when returned nothing had been changed probably thought we were to thick to notice. On paying (the full amount £48.78) We made our disappointment known which was met with indifference and a shrug! It would seem that as long as you don't complain your service will probably be good, however if you do have a grievance, the staff will make it clear they dont like you. I would advise people who dont have money to throw away, dont the risk of going to this place. They knew it was a birthday meal but did nothing to put their mistakes right.

Dim sum great. Been here several times and never had a nice main course, tried all kinds ribs full of deep fried batter all and greasy. young gambling guy who works there Is very rude he spends more time on his phone than serving.

We have been 3 times in a month. I must say every visit it exceeded our expectation last visit on bank holiday Monday. 12 of us arrived at 6pm for a late birthday celebration. Did not book so told 15/20 minutes wait, got shown through after 10 minutes, poppadums arrived in seconds. Orders taken as soon as we we decided, main courses served within 15/20 minutes, we all ordered individually and everything was absolutely spot on. Been related to high end catering for over 20 years myself I was very impressed to see how well choreographed the staff was on a packed floor. And my sister got a cake with a sparkler for birthday which I thought was a really nice touch. The fact that it's always busy says a lot about it. Consistently exceptional service and quality food. Will definitely be back again soon and recommend friends and family.

Really, really good - beautiful food, lovely staff and an amazing place - I can't believe it's the same building as Passage to India. We had a lovely, lovely time. Congratulations to the lovely young staff for an excellent service.

Only the 2nd night for this restaurant and It was very busy. Table of 4, ages between 39 - 70. Staff hired locally and new to waiting on, all were very attentetive and helpful. We asked for foods to be substituted and it was no problem. The food was amazing and large portions. The restaurant was very clean and spacious so although it was busy it didn't feel over crowded. The owners, managers and all staff made an effort to make sure everything was okay. 9/10 and only because they are still waiting for furniture to be delivered and a few tweaks to be made. £140.00 for 4 large starters from the tapas menu, 4 mains, 6 beers, bottle of wine, 2 brandy coffee and 2 espresso excellent value. I hope the food stays the same and they never over fill the restaurant like some do. There was no rush to eat and move on. Well done LaTurka. X

Visited tonight after having a great meal on Saturday with family. I had the Ploughmans, which was not my idea of a Ploughmans. It consisted of 4 rounds of sliced bread, a little sliced cheddar cheese, a slice of corned beef, ham and italian ham, piccalli and a little lettuce, cucumber and pepper. When I asked for tomato the waitress said it didnt come with tomato WHAT !! Sorry I forgot to mention the slices of appple. What happened to crusty bread, pickled onions, ploughmans pickle and another different cheese. The waitress didnt take too kindly to critism although I told her the meal we had on the previous Saturday was delicious. She went away and sulked and none of the other staff took our sweet order so we paid and left with no thank you. Don't think we will be returning. Incindentally my husband had the duck which be enjoyed.
