This is by far the best take away in the area, a great and extensive range. No big pot of curry sauce with bits thrown in here. Good food cooked well, by chefs that care.

Balti Cottage – Stirchley"We usually have a nightmare finding a restaurant that caters for my husband who is a vegetarian and myself who isn't. We have only found one that we regularly go back to in Birmingham until last night when we visited Ulysses. There was a huge range of starters for both of us, and a full page of vegetarian dishes. We started off with cocktails and were going to have a bottle of Greek wine, the wine list being extensive but as the cocktails were so nice we decided to stay with them, we tried four, all of them delicious. The starters were fantastic with the side salad crisp, no wilting lettuce here in a tasty dressing. I had slow roasted lamb which literally fell off the bone, juicy and tender. My husband had vegetarian souvlaki, which makes a change from the usual wishy washy offerings in other restaurants. I cant praise the food enough, you really need to try it yourself. Once you walk on the spotless red carpet you are led to a deceptively large dining area which manages to be intimate and spacious at the same time. It was a pleasure to eat there and we will definitely returning on a regular basis. They even have a night with Elvis in February. We had two cocktails each, three starters and a main meal each for less than £55. Great place, excellent service, fantastic night out. "
Ulysses – Birmingham City CentreIt's said that Greek fish and chips and world class. Well Dad's lane is no exception. Some of the finest food in the country comes out of this little Stirchley fish and chip restaurant. With Pedro's legendary reputation, some people have been known to travel the length of the whole city to get the quality that only Dad's Lane provides. If you want the best, then look no further.
Dads Lane Fish and Chip Bar – MoseleyI eat regularly at Wing Wah, for Dim Sum, hot pot and buffet. I booked a party of 40 people in their newly opened fine dining room, it was done up so sophisticated, the menu is not like the usual stuff either. I must say that the Wing Wah is one one the best restaurants that I have been to.
Wing Wah Chinese Restaurant – ErdingtonGreat food, great service, great restaurant! San Carlo really does get 10/10 for every aspect of dining out. The atmosphere is friendly, as a restaurant should be, and is very noisy. Perhaps too noisy for some, however there were several Christmas parties going on, so perhaps it's not always that loud. I loved the choice of food available on the menu - it really was an impressive collection of authentic Italian dishes, with something for everyone, even those not really into their true Italian food. Highly recommended - and try the monk fish, it was beautiful!
San Carlo – Birmingham City Centre2 for 1 pizzas on Tuesdays are amazing. We ate for a tenner (for 2!)
Cross Cafe Bar – Moseleythe blue angel fish bar has been my local fish shop 4 the past 10 years and through out the 10 years i never once put a complaint in. the food is great the family and staff are very polite and overall its one of the best in Birmingham
Blue Angel Fish Bar The – ErdingtonI love this restaurant, however, I can't understand why it is so LOUD in there, you really have to shout to make yourself heard, even if you are talking to your companion next to you, the food is excellent and it is in walking distance of my home but I wish they would get the noise sorted.
Ponte Di Legno – Moseleythis was the first restaurant that i experienced a curry 18yrs ago. We were in the area after moving to Liverpool and i have to say it was absolutely gorgeous , the chicken tikka and sheek kebab starters were very tender , i had chicken tikka madras balti and again the taste was second to none if you have not been here before you need to make it your next choice to go to you will not be disappointed .very friendly too.
Shabab – Balti TriangleExcellent unique lovely eastern food style. Good for gathering with friends and enjoying food. I had healthy food in this restaurant many time and going there again tomorrow. :-)
Momo’s – Birmingham City Centreb26 sheldon the best curry house in Birmingham great prices dish dash is a bargain 6.95 i love this curry house
B26 Food Of India – SheldonBest Indian restaurant in The Midlands! Great food and great service.
Indian Dream – SolihullLasan is not a curry house, no sign of velvet wall paper anywhere. The food is interesting and created out of a desire to please the eye as well as the palate. The ambience is superb and the service is attentive but not intrusive. I took some friends from London to eat here, they commented that a restaurant in London like this would be charging at least twice as much.
Lasan Restaurant – Birmingham City Centrea wounder full place to be and very help full staff with excellent quality food and loved the starters, but most of all a staff called tony, he was very kind and very polite, i will always be happy to go there and eat.
Regards Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldWe visited the Plaza for the first time in a year or so (11-dec-07). It was always our favourite and we used to visit most weeks until we moved out of the area. We were made to feel very welcome. It was the first time the grandchildren had been to an Indian restaurant and the efforts they made to ensure they enjoyed the food were incredible. Sadly, due to recent events, the area is not as popular as it was but the food was just as delicious and consistent as it was. The Meat and Spinach (madras hot) is my particular favourite. One last point is that the Plaza is an Indian Sikh restaurant (as far as I'm aware the only one in the area) and the food is different from most other eateries around there. Have fun comparing
Plaza – Balti TriangleI have been a regular at Buffet Island and I agree with everyone else. Tried others in the area and there is no competition. The food is great the staff is great and they are also having entertainment on new years eve what else but a karaoke. What a great idea. Have a meal, a drink and celebrate the new year in a great atmosphere. If you go past you will see the posters on the restaurant.... I think it is a must to go. I am definitely going to be there. Song lists for the karaoke are at www.rjkaraoke.co.uk looks like there is a good selection of songs as well as food. Should be a good night...
Buffet Island – ErdingtonA party of 13 friends assembled at this establishment for a birthday party, the table was booked for 7.30, on arrival it was obvious that the establishment was over subscribed and not enough qualified staff to cope. The service was dreadful, the menu's were in short supply to enable us to order, the wine glasses the same to the point that they were almost snatched out of our hands as soon as they were empty, the food arrived (eventually) at about 9.00pm, all the starters were mixed up and so it continued. The eventual cost should have been in excess of £400 which my daughters refused point blank to pay in total. The owners were not in the least apologetic for the dismal evening and the ruined birthday evening, not to mention the spoiled evening for all those who attended. Take advice do not visit this venue if you expect good polite prompt and pleasant service. The other partner (male) became very aggressive when we attempted to discuss our grievances. Avoid at all costs.
