Over the years we have eaten at Cafe Balti many times, as a family, on our own and with friends and we are always greeted warmly and served with fabulous food. Its a great place to eat and such value. Keep up the good work !
Cafe Balti – SheldonI have been making the journey from Nuneaton to the Plaza over the last few years and consistently had good curries from this restaurant. The Prawn Puri starter and Tropical Balti main course are superb. The staff are very friendly, the decor is clean but quite basic and you can take your own drinks. The only gripe I've got is that the main course is served too quickly after the starter.

Akrams Kashmiri – StirchleyThis is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Birmingham, and probably anywhere. The Dim Sum (lots of Chinese starters) is excellent and there is a very wide variety on the menu. Although it is more expensive than other local Chinese restaurants I still think that the prices are reasonable. Two of us have eaten there for less than £25 between us and have been totally full up. It is usually very busy and the food is always fresh and good quality.

Colebrook Inn – ShirleyMade very welcome on arrival and a very nice looking place. Drinks brought to us whilst we waited in bar to be seated. Its worth going a little earlier so you can have a drink in there before sitting down and also browse the menu. I had whole lobster for my main, expensive as you would expect with lobster, but it was well worth it, absolutely delicious. Also had oysters at start with bread which was also nice. Girlfriend had duck which was gorgeous too. All in all a very enjoyable night and would definitely go back. Be prepared to spend some money, but there are cheaper options than what I had, in fact mine was probably the most expensive dish at £30

If you want to eat on a weekend i would recommend booking as every visit i've made the place has been full. Bring your own alcohol keeps the price very reasonable. 10 out of 10.

Desi 2 – SandwellThis restaurant was very lovely from the inside, the decorations were all very good so was the food, but the only downfall was the price, quite pricey for my liking.
Shimla Pinks – Birmingham City CentreI went there on a Saturday night with a group of friends, arriving around 7pm. It wasn't that busy when we arrived, but soon filled up, as it is very small. The food, (though we only had mains), was lovely - I had the Vegetarian Couscous, which was beautifully presented. We had to wait quite a long time, but this was probably due to the fact that there were about 20 of us, and they wanted us all to eat at the same time. The highlight of the evening was when a belly dancer came and danced in between the tables. She invited us all to get up and join in, which was really fun, though slightly embarrassing as none of us could belly dance to save our lives!
Zagora – Birmingham City CentreSimple style of restaurant, nothing too flashy. Very friendly family-feel service. Price - a little more than we had expected, but no complaints about the food. One gripe - restaurant doesn't serve wine, which is fine, but then charges £1.50 corkage when you bring your own. Hmm.
