Really great service, great food and couldn't fault anything

We visited to take my partner's Mum out for lunch. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday lunchtime but we had booked ahead. Food was excellent and extremely generous portions. The staff were obviously run off their feet as several large parties had turned up on spec but this didn't matter much to us as it turned out visit into a pleasant extended lunch.

Why does their food taste so good? Because it is made with love..... The best Chippie in Birmingham by a long shot. A lovely couple, who actually care about their customers and are also fully aware of the cost of living crisis , hence still selling their mini fish & chips ( with choice of sauce or peas) for 4.80! Amazing. May they "Carry On Cooking" for the next 40 years .

Food always great here. Been visiting for about 15 years. Lunches always excellent value, great tasting & big portions from sandwiches to foreign chicken dishes, premium burgers, game, seafood & steaks. Sunday roast is my favourite in the area…. Beef is amazing quality & always nice roast spuds & veg selection with it, a nice reward after a walk in the hills. Nice drink choice & ambience & service too. Recommended. Cheers team.

Friendly and welcoming. Staff were quick to seat and take our order. Food was delicious.

Great food. Lovely setting with the log fire. Great value and good range of local food. Nice bottle of bordeux (or two) to wash everything down.

The service from all staff was excellent, food arrived in good time all orders correct, good portion sizes and everyone enjoyed their meals. Late amendment to booking and seating request was all handled really well and the whole team enabled us to have a lovely evening

Our first time visiting here and will sadly be our last. Not the friendliest of welcomes but we were shown to our table and our drinks order was delivered quickly. Sadly it all went downhill from here, three other tables arrived and were served drinks and their food orders taken. Their food then arrived and we hadn't even been asked if we were ready to order. We had to ask at the bar if we could order our food. Our food order was finally taken and our food arrived shortly after. Once we were finished our table was cleared and we were asked if we would like to see the deserts menu to which we said yes. Half an hour later we still hadn't received a deserts menu or been asked if we wanted any more drinks. Yet again we had to go to the bar to get any attention to which we promptly asked for the bill as we'd had enough by this point. Its a shame as the place is lovely and the food very nice but the service is shocking. We were practically ignored all night so won't be returning

Another great lunch, very nice soup followed by Korean chicken, partner had venison meatballs. No complaints about main courses.

What a lovely evening. Friendly staff and wow the food was out of this world. Everything was flawless. We will definitely be going back and would recomend to anyone to go. The whole atmosphere was amazing, beautiful layout made you feel you were on holiday. The staff couldn't do enough to make yiu4 evening feel so special. Thank you so much.

Had lunch yesterday. Food was great and the waiting staff were all very friendly. Two log burgers were lit which was lovely.

we've been coming here OMG here for over 25 years with our children grandkids and on our own as a couple never once have we had a bad meal since my illness three years ago and disability staff always go out of their way to accommodate myself and my husband for easy access wouldn’t go anywhere else

First time I have visited and would return. Waiting staff were great and informative. Portion sizes generous for the money. Piping hot freshly sourced food.
