Great food served in a lovely setting in the Fire Barn, beautifully decorated for Christmas. Staff very attentive and service prompt. Food selected from the festive menu was good value for money. A couple of organisational issues but these did not spoil a really great experience.

Really excellent service for our party of 16, fast and efficient. The food was very good too. Everyone was happy with their meals. Traditional old school Italian classics cooked very well indeed.

Went for the Carol singing and had a meal while we there. The pub was decorated beautifully for Christmas, the log fire was on and it had a fabulous ambience. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much bother for them and Jamie and Rebecca the landlords are very much front of house ensuring their customers are happy. The food was amazing, we eat here quite often and have never been disappointed. It’s also a fabulous atmosphere to just pop in for a quick drink too. Dogs welcome in the bar area, lovely beer garden/outside dining area. Our favourite local.

After searching menus we decided on The black bull for our works Christmas doo. They had a good selection, something for everyone and the price was very reasonable. So glad we did! It was an amazing experience. Firstly the setting was just stunning. It was decorated all Christmassy and it just felt so cozy and gave a really nice atmosphere from the start! The staff were fab! They were so friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. They had us laughing away to which was really nice. The food was lovely and everyone who came commented on how nice it was. Amazing value! You could tell it was quality produce and homemade. Really nice portions to. Overall it was a fab evening and we’ll definitely be coming again. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Lovely meal, we had the roast sharing platter, compared to similar restaurants we felt it was good value for money. We asked for some slight adjustments and they were happily sorted. Quite a wait for food, but it was very busy. Very attentive, friendly staff.

We went for lunch on the 30th Nov. The food was really very good.There we’re 4 of us , a couple had starters , Baked Halloumi, and Onion soup. 2 mains were Steak and Kidney pie with chips, which I was told was lovely, pastry well cooked and plenty of filling The table server offered us extra gravy on the side in a small jug, which we were charged £2.50, ( bit pricy) . Another guest had the Sea food platter, which was all lovely, quite a lot of fish , but a take away box was offered. I had Chicken Kiev , which is totally retro but I thought , let’s try it. It wasn’t how I remembered it tho, the melted butter was in a small dish on the side, not as I thought it would have been , in the centre of the chicken breast, it was also wrapped in bacon, with I think a crumb coating. It tasted really good, the chicken was moist and a generous portion size, together with chips, coleslaw and a serving of iceberg lettuce with Parmesan shavings, made a very tasty meal, however not Chicken Kiev as I recalled it. The service was excellent, all staff we spoke with were very chatty and friendly, the ambiance of the place is lovely, plus very clean, warm and welcoming . We will be back . Thank you.

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch, we had the sharing Sunday Lunch it was so good and a great variety, service was fab, staff are really friendly, it was so cosy with the fires lit watching the snow come down, fab atmosphere, we can't wait to come back, can't find anything negative to say it was that good.

It was our first time visiting and we loved it! The atmosphere, the staff and the food were all fab!! All 4 of us went for the chicken Kiev which was the best meal we’ve had in a long time!

Had a lovely meal here as a party of three,we were all well satisfied with the whole meal,notwas to much trouble and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Superb Sunday lunch platter for two. Flawless service and excellent food.

Lovely rack of lamb, cod, STP and ice cream. First class as always. Excellent work from Gabriel! Booked us into the quieter Piano room next visit.

Cracking find, great value, great staff and dog friendly. Immense.
