Have eaten here probably 5 or 6 times, different days of the week and times and every time the food and service has been great, both when it’s busy and when a little quieter. I feel it’s probably the best pub food (and service) in the area now. Highly recommended.

First time visitors. My husband had the gourmet burger and I had the chicken roast. Service was brilliant. Food simply amazing. We will definitely be back.

Amazing Sunday roast we will be back

Lovely meal once again with 9 of my family dining on Sunday evening. We enjoyed various mains including gammon, Sunday chicken roast and the burger and it all arrived promptly with everyone receiving a good, large portion. Everyone enjoyed the meal and will return.

Eaten a few times here and it's always top quality, freshly prepared and tasty. Not outfacing portions and service with a smile. Will be back.

Food very good, table service excellent in a busy pub. Only flaw, we were delayed trying to pay waiting for bar staff to conclude their long conversation with another pair of customers. This resulted in a 4/5 for service which otherwise would have been a perfect 5.

We have visited a few times now and have never been disappointed. The staff here are excellent, very helpful and engaging and nothing is too much trouble from the landlady right through to the young waitresses, which says a lot for the training that the landlady gives them. In terms of the food, again it’s always been excellent, there is plenty of choice on the menu and nothing is a problem if you want to slightly alter something. We had visited a couple of times midweek but wanted to try the Sunday lunch and we weren’t disappointed, perfectly pink roast beef with lovely veg and no problem if you wanted more gravy! Value for money is also excellent. We have plenty of good eating places where we live in Hoghton but we are happy to travel the 15-20 minutes to visit The Traders as it’s always a great experience

Great food, service and family atmosphere Both my partner and I had the roast beef and were pleasantly surprised when it arrived at the portion size and quality Well defo make this a frequent place for food and feast value for money too

Food not quite as good as on previous occasions but still ok. Staff were pleasant and attentive as usual. Will definitely visit again.

Great little pub/restaurant with friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices.

Fabulous food and drinks at reasonable price. Only downside was running out of trifle but will get that next time we visit. Thanks for fab night

The best Sunday roast I've had in a long while.

Great meal ,service excellent,definitely recommend a visit

Went on 6th August to celebrate our anniversary. The food was very tasty and well cooked. The service was excellent. The waitress looked after us really well. Only one point I told her that the ice cream I had was full of ice crystals which meant it had been left out of the freezer to melt and then refrozen.
