Excellent food, great service and reasonably priced

Nine of us had a really enjoyable meal in Ellenders last Thursday evening for a 65th birthday. The food was excellent, and really good service... Overall a really enjoyable experience and will definitely be back.

We had the Sunday lunch yesterday at 1pm. Having enjoyed it a few times before, we were disappointed. The potatoes were rock hard and the meal wasn't very flavoursome. The beef was good, but much less than we've had before. The waitress forgot to bring over the horseradish we asked for. Two desserts had run out unfortunately too. We won't be back on a Sunday again unless I hear it's improved.

Main course was good but bread with prawn salad would have been nice. service was good, cheese and biscuits came with no butter and no knife !

Outstanding Food Lovely Staff all friendly

The Restaurant is nice and roomy but a few faults on food, due to Pre- ordering we had to wait for all meals and also the Strawberry Crumble was a let down when expecting a a yummy scrumptious sweet dessert we got biscuit crumbs and strawberries and a blob of ice cream, but everything else was fine. Not rushing back at the moment but thanks very much

Good choice of dishes. Food excellent, well cooked, beautifully presented, good portions. Service fine - very friendly - but not outstanding. Went at 6 pm so very quiet.

I've enjoyed meals here twice, once in the evening and once at lunchtime. Each time the staff have gone out of their way to be efficient and helpful and the food has been exceptionally good. There were 10 of us on the day we had lunch, after a nice, long walk at Frampton Marsh, and we phoned our order through from there. As a result we had only a short time to wait to be served a variety of menu choices and everyone in the party was delighted with the quality of the food. Special thanks to Rachel and Sonia for service with a smile!

Food was 1st class as usual and the staff very accommodating .

What a shame....came for father's Day with the in-laws. First time having Sunday lunch so not sure what to expect. Food came out and thought not a lot of veg but there was roasted carrots and parsnips on plate. Therefore we ate up only to see the next table get their food and low and behold a large bowl of fresh veg. The young waitress was slightly disinterested when comment was made. She did go and speak to chef but then never said a word until a while later when she said they would discount the meal. Hubby went to pay.....no discount given. It is a shame because we have been here a couple of times and loved our food. Word of advice customer service is not complicated. Staff at very least should be apologetic for the mistakes made and would have been nice for a manager to have explained what had happened.

Visited for Father's Day. Food good, service appalling. On entering a restaurant I expect to be shown to my table, and not have it vaguely pointed out. Had to ask a waitress to take a drinks order which didn't turn up, had to ask again. Food was good, nothing outstanding. Had to ask again to order pudding, ordered tea at the same time, which was tepid and had to be replaced. I noticed lots of people requesting their bill, which wasn't followed up with a card machine to the table, so people queuing at the bar to pay. All in all disappointed, offers so much delivers so little. What could be a nice place to eat within my community I don't feel I can be bothered to visit again. Much nicer places locally with substantially better, less surly service.

Visited Saturday lunch as an early Father’s Day treat -7 of us including a 2 and 3 year old Lovely service as always - high chairs provided menus altered to suit ,children ,gluten free and fussy eaters Good size portions - huge fish in fish and chips Staff friendly Would recommend this little gem of a place

Visited Friday night for meal with hubby. Fabulous food and service. Booked again for father's Day so we can try the Sunday lunch

The atmosphere is very relaxing and allows you to enjoy the food without feeling like you are privy to a million conversations. The food is very high quality and you can tell everything has been made from good quality ingredients from scratch. Would definitely consider again when planning our next meal out.

Had a wonderful experience with party of 23 , superb planning by organiser and manager allowed a very easy s eating , table planning , they set the tables with extras and were responsive to all of our needs all night , lovely food and atmosphere , everyone really enjoyed the evening , so big thankyou to all involved , smooth organisation from ellenders team !
