The above reviews must all be fake as I ate there once and it was atrocious. I refused to pay is was that bad and as a result, the miserable owner banned me from ever going again (as if I'd want to!).

Kebab House The – Bristol City CentreI went here for Good Friday. I searched for somewhere to eat, I was treating my woman. I always like to support local business, I chose this place because of it. The food was absolutely fantastic. I didn't think they made food as good as this. Even the wine was good. It was a relaxed atmosphere, always staff about for your requirements. I was soo very pleased, it helped make my weekend fantastic. I recommend
Don Giovannis – Bristol City CentreRiverstation is amazing! The food is incredibly consistent and always excellent.. The set price menus are really good value £9.00 for 2 courses at lunch and £14.75 for 3-courses at dinner. They also have a lovely terrace overlooking the harbour making it the best possible place to eat in Bristol on a fine day. Highly recommended!
Riverstation – Bristol City CentreI visited "Oh Calcutta" for the first time on Friday 15th January 2010 with my wife Stella......the atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant and we were made to feel welcome immediately.....the service was excellent and the food was fantastic from start to finish.....we ordered the poppadoms and chutney to start and they were the best i've ever tasted.....the lamb jalfrezee was delicious with the most tender meat and spices combining perfectly with the rice....my wife had the Malaysian curry which again was delicious....we also ordered a garlic nan to share and once again it was the best ever.....the chefs obviously take great care in their cooking and i cannot wait to return for a second helping...... It is also in a fantastic location with regard to a brilliant selection of pubs and bars nearby and within walking distance......we had a fantastic evening out...................
Oh Calcutta – Bristol City CentreFantastic place, fresh food great atmosphere and Pete the waiter is so funny....always a good night there!! I travel from Chippenham to go there it's that GREAT!
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreWent recently, food ok, although two or three things missing from menu, eg chips to go with burger. Service poor. Sticky toffee pudding is served cold there, as informed by waitress!
Bordeaux Quay Food Hall and Restaurant – Bristol City CentreOn looking through the very inviting cosy window of La Grotta last week while in Bristol for the day, myself and my husband thought we couldn't go wrong for a delicious italian meal, but we were really disappointed. I ordered cannelloni and it came up really hard and overcooked with hardly any sauce, very basic and bland, I have cooked better at home. My husband ordered seafood spaghetti and it came plain with a couple of olives and prawns, no sauce at all. It was awful. We might have been on the chefs off day but can honestly say the meal was one of the worst italian meals we have had. It was as though they couldn't be bothered to make the meal with any flavour whatsoever. We wont be visiting there again. o points.
La Grotta – Bristol City Centreunimpressive lunch was had here the other Saturday for £15 a head. had to get a mars bar on the way home.
Thai Pepper – Bristol City CentreWell I totally disagree with the previous comment and probably the service and the food changed a bit in a couple of years. The food wasn’t what you really expect from an typical Italian restaurant, don’t even bother with the starters. Service very slow, long wait for the food and they are not even good for themselves, I mean it took an eternity to get the bill and finally to pay I spent another life.
Mamma Mia – Bristol City Centremy grandmat (cris) took us to the grota it was lovely there lasagna IS the best i have ever had. every time we go to Bristol we go to la grota.
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreHad dinner here last month and it never fails to impress. The presentation is awesome and the wine list an oenologist's wet dream. Nuff Said!
Bells Diner – Bristol City CentreWOW, got a takeaway from there this evening, butter chicken tikka with pilau rice and a keema naan, it was so tasty and filling o and i got free popadoms! staff were friendly always smiling and their restaurant looked so nice gonna have to eat in there soon! 10 out of 10 so far!
The Curry House – Bristol City CentreWe went to Obento on Saturday for lunch and ordered the mixed Bento box at £11.00 each, I was disappointed to find that the Tempura was breadcrumbed mixed seafood, even a battered Crab stick! One compartment was just 3 slices of orange another an incredibly unauthentic potatoe salad with dry hard rice and 3 pickle slices, incredibly unauthentic and not at all value for money, looked like it came from Iceland, really disappointing for a first visit, would not recommend
Obento – Bristol City CentreThis place is a hidden Gem!!! I enjoyed my first meal here with my sister's Boyfriends' family who have been coming here for years! We were all welcomed with open arms by George and his family. We sat down and our drink orders were taken straight away, and brought over just as quickly! Once we'd all decided what to have to eat, George came over and took our orders. The starters were AMAZING!!! It was hard to stop yourself filling up on the starters alone, they were so delicious! Our main meals were out of this world. I had traditional doner kebab with Greek rice (I thought it'd be the safest option since I wasn't sure what i'd like). I tried the lamb as well... the BEST by far!! No-one will ever beat it! Then we washed it all down with floater-coffees (which didn't disappoint!! They matched the standard set by the meals without a doubt!). George then brought out a flaming shot for the birthday boy! I don't hesitate to recommend this place, and i'm gutted I didn't go there sooner! See you again George and family!
Kebab House The – Bristol City CentreThis restaurant is pure genius. I have been coming here with my family since I was knee-high and the comforting welcome provided by George has never changed (nor has the decor, or the food for that matter!). It is a no frills place so if you're one for lavish surroundings maybe it's not for you - put it this way, I have never seen the place mats, salt and pepper pots or oil burners change in the time I've been going. However! This does make it all the more reminiscent and wonderfully cosy. The murals on the walls and the Greek music transport you afar and the food is amazing - I would always recommend the meze and if by some miracle you have space after, George makes a Cointreau coffee to die for - he is a liqueur coffee connoisseur!
Kebab House The – Bristol City CentreWe had lunch here today. I love Italian food, especially good Italian food and I was absolutely blown away by the superb quality of the meal. My wife had Penne with a tomato and bacon sauce. Her comment was that this was the best she'd had for years and could easily imagine herself being in Italy while she was eating it. I had Lasagna and I can say that it was the best that I have had since... well actually, probably the best ever. And my daughter (who is gluten intolerant) had a wide choice of food to eat, including gluten-free pasta. We discovered that their sensitivity to this comes from the owner's daughter also being gluten intolerant. This is a family owned, family run restaurant that offered the BEST Italian food and at very reasonable prices. If you adore italian catering, you MUST come here. We will certainly be going back.
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreI was visiting Bristol with my family from Thailand, my father wanted very much to have a drink in an English Pud and we happen to just walked pass The Old Fish Market on our tour around the city. The staff was very friendly and inviting, the bar man help us to select some great beers or ale. The food was a big plus to our first pub outing, the menu was not your standard Thai food but was a great improvement to some of the Thai restaurants that we have tried in London and Bristol (if not the best). My mother is very picky when it comes to Thai food or any food for that matter, but she loves the food here, the Pad Thai Prawns was the best that she ever had and the rest of my family feel the same way....Over all a great place a good drink, a fantastic place for THAI FOOD...and I'm from Bangkok.. :)
Thai Kitchen – Bristol City CentreI visited this restaurant last year and had a fab meal, great food great service & reasonably priced.. visited again this year.. waited 45 mins for them to take the order.. which when it turned up was described on the menu as fish soup was in fact fish water no matter how much seasoning my sister added gave it no flavour and it was luke warm, my fish was served burnt and 20 mins after the other main meals.. did get an apology and discount but spoilt my mums 60th treat...
