Called in one lunchtime and the burrito was fabulous and very good value. Lovely environment with tables or sofas or bar stools to choose from. Delicious!

My Burrito – Bristol City CentreThis was our first visit to Bristol and our party of five arrived late on Saturday 26th March without prior booking and were welcomed and treated like Royalty. The food and wine was superb. Nothing was too much trouble and our wedding anniversary celebration was enjoyed by all. It was within walking distance of our Mint Hotel and this is now our favourite eatery. We hope to be regular visitors to Bristol.
Giuseppe On The Steps – Bristol City CentreFantastic restaurant great food great service, we held our wedding reception here a year ago on 01.02.2010 and came back today to celebrate our 1year anniversary and was made to feel very welcome although the restaurant was busy. We will keep coming back and highly recommend it.
Europa – Bristol City CentreSaw a write up in the Metro ''Best restaurant outside London!'' I don't think so, I don't mind paying good money for good food. But I was so disappointed, the waiter, was reading out the menu before we sat down, thought the wine we chose was not good enough! Two of us sent our main meal back as it was undercooked and cold. Extremely small portions for all of us, and we all left with a sour taste instead of what we thought was going to be an eating experience. We would certainly not recommended this place, just a rip off!!! And not even good food!!!!!!
Flinty Red – Bristol City CentreMy last two visits to this restaurant have been ruined by the service. Grumpy unfriendly waiters and a 10% compulsory service charge which is not clearly indicated. My last visit was at lunch me and my friends were not offered or told about the lunchtime menu so were forced to order off the main menu, costing us a lot more than the equivalent on the lunch menu, our waiter was very rude and abrupt with us ruining our experience. As a result we didn't want to leave the full 10% as our service was so bad, we were not allowed to leave the restaurant until the full 10% was paid to the waiter that blocked our exit. Utterly terrible behavior, and as a result will never eat here again. Which is a shame as my first visit was totally the opposite
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreWent to the opening night of this pub / bar. Very nice interior and atmosphere with no loud music or raucous behaviour. The landlord was very friendly and accommodating. Good place to be for couples or groups of friends who do not want to visit the rowdier bars on this street. It was such a contrast to the other bars where loud music and bad behaviour seem to prevail. I look forward to visiting for food, I hear they have introduced a Sunday Roast and their sandwiches sound particularly good, especially the homemade fish finger with watercress!
The Elephant Public House – Bristol City CentreHaven't been for a while - my friend and I called in for a last drink or 2 on a Saturday evening. We had a very warm welcome and enjoyed some fab wine in the lovely rustic charm of the bar area. Ended up wishing we'd eaten there too. So we'll be back there soon!
Hotel Du Vin and Bistro – Bristol City CentreThe above reviews must all be fake as I ate there once and it was atrocious. I refused to pay is was that bad and as a result, the miserable owner banned me from ever going again (as if I'd want to!).
Kebab House The – Bristol City CentreI went here for Good Friday. I searched for somewhere to eat, I was treating my woman. I always like to support local business, I chose this place because of it. The food was absolutely fantastic. I didn't think they made food as good as this. Even the wine was good. It was a relaxed atmosphere, always staff about for your requirements. I was soo very pleased, it helped make my weekend fantastic. I recommend
Don Giovannis – Bristol City CentreRiverstation is amazing! The food is incredibly consistent and always excellent.. The set price menus are really good value £9.00 for 2 courses at lunch and £14.75 for 3-courses at dinner. They also have a lovely terrace overlooking the harbour making it the best possible place to eat in Bristol on a fine day. Highly recommended!
Riverstation – Bristol City CentreI visited "Oh Calcutta" for the first time on Friday 15th January 2010 with my wife Stella......the atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant and we were made to feel welcome immediately.....the service was excellent and the food was fantastic from start to finish.....we ordered the poppadoms and chutney to start and they were the best i've ever tasted.....the lamb jalfrezee was delicious with the most tender meat and spices combining perfectly with the rice....my wife had the Malaysian curry which again was delicious....we also ordered a garlic nan to share and once again it was the best ever.....the chefs obviously take great care in their cooking and i cannot wait to return for a second helping...... It is also in a fantastic location with regard to a brilliant selection of pubs and bars nearby and within walking distance......we had a fantastic evening out...................
Oh Calcutta – Bristol City CentreFantastic place, fresh food great atmosphere and Pete the waiter is so funny....always a good night there!! I travel from Chippenham to go there it's that GREAT!
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreWent recently, food ok, although two or three things missing from menu, eg chips to go with burger. Service poor. Sticky toffee pudding is served cold there, as informed by waitress!
Bordeaux Quay Food Hall and Restaurant – Bristol City CentreOn looking through the very inviting cosy window of La Grotta last week while in Bristol for the day, myself and my husband thought we couldn't go wrong for a delicious italian meal, but we were really disappointed. I ordered cannelloni and it came up really hard and overcooked with hardly any sauce, very basic and bland, I have cooked better at home. My husband ordered seafood spaghetti and it came plain with a couple of olives and prawns, no sauce at all. It was awful. We might have been on the chefs off day but can honestly say the meal was one of the worst italian meals we have had. It was as though they couldn't be bothered to make the meal with any flavour whatsoever. We wont be visiting there again. o points.
La Grotta – Bristol City Centreunimpressive lunch was had here the other Saturday for £15 a head. had to get a mars bar on the way home.
Thai Pepper – Bristol City CentreWell I totally disagree with the previous comment and probably the service and the food changed a bit in a couple of years. The food wasn’t what you really expect from an typical Italian restaurant, don’t even bother with the starters. Service very slow, long wait for the food and they are not even good for themselves, I mean it took an eternity to get the bill and finally to pay I spent another life.
Mamma Mia – Bristol City Centremy grandmat (cris) took us to the grota it was lovely there lasagna IS the best i have ever had. every time we go to Bristol we go to la grota.
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreHad dinner here last month and it never fails to impress. The presentation is awesome and the wine list an oenologist's wet dream. Nuff Said!
