Enjoyed our meal at the San Carlo restaurant on Corn Street immensely. As a lover of all Italian food, I was very impressed with the range and quality of dishes on offer here. The Scallops San Carlo was absolutely delicious and was complimented by some fine chardonnay. We’re already looking forward to eating there again.

Have eaten here a couple of times now. Food is fantastic and the menu is updated regularly. Staff are very friendly and the owner takes an interest in customers feedback and comments.

The menu serves Japanese food, but it's not close enough to what it's suppose to be, and I feel slight resentment that this place is called Japanese restaurant, because as far as I am concerned, it serves bastardised mock-Japanese food. Rice used for sushi was hard - it was clear the rice was chilled in the fridge as well, something no respectable Japanese restaurant will ever do! That is one of the worst mistake non-Japanese make with sushi, it's unbelievably poor. Yakitori again, was close enough to what you would be served in Japan but not close enough to be worth the price. If you want nice sushi, just go to Yo! Sushi; ok, so they serve westernised bastardised mock-Japanese food as well but at least their rice used in sushi hasn't been put in fridge until it goes hard.

Really tasty dishes - freshness of the salmon was unbelievable. Loads of cooked sushi options too which my partner chose as he doesn't like raw fish. Meal for 2 including sake was under 35 pounds which we thought was very good valued. Highly recommended!

We visited Zen a couple of weeks ago and they really have gone to town on the decor. A lot of money has been spent here on creating this establishment and they've done a pretty good job. My only concern with the venue itself are the very high ceilings. It's not particularly intimate and feels too big. The food however is very good quality and I for one really enjoyed it. it's not your normal Chinese restaurant, no Chow Mien on or anglo-chinese creations. Very authentic, good service (although a little bit too in your face at times - constantly topping up your water after a few sips is not really necessary!) I would go back again, but my partner found everything a little too spicy. One for the more adventurous. Would be a great place for a larger party.

Plantation is simply out of this world. First high class Caribbean Restaurant in Bristol. It has an open kitchen. And, your meal is prepared right in front of your eyes. How cool is that? Personally, I am addicted to plantation's fried and baked plantains.. Did you know? Plantation Restaurant owners introduced the no-smoking ban long before the Government got round to implementing it. I remember a belly dancing show as part of a charity event at the restaurant. I actually felt being outside my own body. Which other place can provide you with such experiences. I hope you have similar experiences when you next visit the restaurant and write about them.. I recommend plantation as the only venue for your night out. Why not book your party.. This Restaurant has the space to host a large party.. Have your there and then write about it here..

I love this place, atmospheric, superb well informed front of house, stunning modern European cooking with fabulous presentation and one of the best wine lists ever.

Three of us ate here and the food was excellent. We all had a grand spread of marinated meats, cooked over charcoal, salads, breads and plenty of Turkish beer. The staff were really great and the bill was £20 each....Job Done!

Food was okay, shocking service. Pre booked a table for a group of us. Everyone ordered starter and main, while my partner and I had a set menu. Started promising as the food came out quick, three items came from the set menu, we then had to ask when the rest was coming after 15 mins (told that it was just coming), after another 30 mins when everyone had finished their bento boxes we still were with no additional food. The rest of our party were offered dessert menus while we were still waiting!! Was told that it was due to being very busy upstairs with 40 people. Considering that we booked in advance I find that it was a very poor excuse. Paid for the food we had and more than likely will not be visiting again due to the service - not the food.

I highly recommend Amici's restaurant. It has recently become a family favourite upon which we can all rely for a delicious meal, cosy atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. Whilst not the most modern interior and despite the slightly alarming (life-size)statue guarding Amici's entrance this venue is totally unpretentious, welcoming and accommodating.

Had a really great meal at San Carlo last night - the food was delicious, the service was great, and the location of the restaurant is fantastic.

I celebrated my birthday a few weeks ago at San Carlo on Corn Street, and I just wanted to let everyone know what a great night I had! The staff were fantastic - they were happy to play along with my parents surprises for me, and sang 'Happy Birthday' to me in Italian with such enthusiasm, I felt like they were close friends! The food was beautiful - we had starters, mains and desserts, and all 3 courses came in record time, were presented beautifully, and tasted great. Overall, a fantastic place to celebrate my birthday - I really enjoyed myself, and without a shadow of a doubt will be returning! Thank you to all of the staff at San Carlo!

Not the cheapest I've eaten but so well worth the price. Service attentive and professional. Menu interesting without being OTT in terms of food combining. Presentation worthy of an art show but certainly not 'nouvelle'in their portion size. Lovely atmosphere in spite of being very early evening and the place was not full by any means. (us oldies like to eat early!) I would frequent it every week given the choice - and easy parking.

I ve been to Ezo with my boyfriend last week and really enjoyed it. Everything was great, the food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly and the bill was quite reasonable. i had a pleasant romantic evening that night. i will definitely go back there again. At the end they gave us free Turkish delight on the house. I will advice everyone to give it a go.
