My law firm had a dinner party there - 14 of us in a private room. Was a great experience. Food and service wonderful and very plush surroundings.

My law firm had a dinner party there - 14 of us in a private room. Was a great experience. Food and service wonderful and very plush surroundings.
Goldbrick House – Bristol City CentreJudging by the other reviews, this place seems to have deteriorated somewhat. The curries were of a good standard but not exceptional. The service was pretty good though not great. The ambience was lacking but the style of the place was entirely different from anywhere I've been before (in a good way). The main problem I found was that the 'pilau' rice had a distinct taste to it which was rather unlike I've had before and was not to my satisfaction. Overall, an enjoyable experience but not one that I will be repeating in a hurry.
Oh Calcutta – Bristol City CentreI adore this place. It is the best japanese food I've tasted in a restaurant and the prices are so good that it doesn't hurt my wallet to go back again and again. The express lunch deal is great value although I found two courses at lunch a bit much. I recommend the yasai noodles in soup, I've had it twice and it is fantastic!
Obento – Bristol City CentreLove it. had a great night with friends.
Goldbrick House – Bristol City CentreThe best sandwiches and salads in Bristol. Made to order and with a broad choice of salads, hot and cold meats, door step bread and friendly service. Very reasonably priced but given portion sizes, not too good for the waistline.
Maximillions Deli – Bristol City CentreNice, ambient lighting, cosy, local artwork on walls, etc. Staff not massively attentive at times. Food is good but we only had nibbles so can't really say. Great range of Belgian beers and gorgeous cocktails (Avon Gorge Mudslide/Chocwork Orange a must...).
Amoeba – Bristol City CentreThis is one of the best curry houses in Bristol. The food is always very fresh and the take away food every bit as good as that served at the table. The popularity of this little restaurant is a measure of its quality. The garlic naans are superb - as good as anywhere in the world - and I have travelled. The chilli garlic chicken is a must. For the veggies the big metal platter thingy is really good - in fact its all excellent.
Ahmed’s Curry Cafe – Bristol City CentreHeard the buzz, so had to check it out. Liked it, really liked it. Only had drinks in the top bar, but the restaurant is certainly on my list of things to do in the next month. Found it friendly, relaxed and had a great little vibe to it. And I'm a stubborn and hard to please git.
Goldbrick House – Bristol City CentreThis is a gem! Wonderful, family Italian food served with a smile. The food is excellent. I could go on and on but come in and try for yourself... you will not be disappointed
Amici – Bristol City CentreI have been to a few Indians in the Bristol and South Wales area and Lal Jomi is up there with the best of them. I would agree that from time to time service suffers, but only due to amount of customer demand. Parking is also sometimes an issue due to its location but the walk is often good for the digestion.
Lal Jomi Pavillion Restaurant – Bristol City CentreWe ate there last Saturday night and the place was heaving. The staff were totally rushed off their feet but coped wonderfully. The food leaving the kitchen was some of the best I've had in Bristol in a long time. All 5 of us agreed it's a special place. The bar was a little too busy, but we stopped, had a few than headed home. What amazed me more than anything were the customers - an eclectic mix of young proffs, middle aged couples and 'the trendies'. Perfect company and a surprising find on Park St.
Goldbrick House – Bristol City CentreI Have been going to la grotta fro years on end! my whole family love it there as we know all the staff and owners.. We do get a little spoilt as we know them but many of my friends go there and ask me to take them again because they love it so much! it is a great place i really recommend it !!!
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreJust come home from an excellent meal for two at Juniper. Never been before and tend to stick to places I know - but I am glad I took the opportunity to see if what I had heard was true. Food was excellent, the manageress Jess was on her own but that didn? take away from the relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and have already decided to go back again soon.
Juniper Restaurant – Bristol City CentreFirst visit to Bells, which we thoroughly enjoyed, the food & service was outstanding, we were staying in Bristol for a couple of nights and choose the restaurant after reading previous reviews. We would thoroughly recommend it.
Bells Diner – Bristol City CentreIt is a shame there are so few reviews for this place as it is the best meal out I've had for quite some time. The restaurant itself is perfect for couples, lots of candles, low lighting and comfortable seating - not 'canteen' style like so many Bristol restaurants these days. The kitchen is on view, which is very appealing if you wonder about hygiene and general goings-on in kitchens like I do! No Gordon Ramsey style swearing here, infact you can hardly hear them at all. The food was just delicious, I could not fault it at all. Beautifully presented and quite healthy portions too. I don't consider it pricey, between 5.00 - 7.00 for starters and 12.00 - 16.00 for mains is about the going rate these days, but in the Firehouse it really is worth every penny. Equally, the drinks are not over-priced as in many restaurants. Drinks from the bar were normal bar prices, and the wine list is very reasonable - we had a Chilean Merlot at 13.50 which was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the chefs give you a nod and a wave when you enter and leave. All in all, we had a fantastic night and will definitely be going back soon! Be advised though, it is now non-smoking throughout (the website says smoking is allowed at the bar, but this is no longer the case).
Firehouse Rotisserie – Bristol City CentreI agree with the previous reviewer it's been our favourite Indian for years. We go about twice a month and it's always busy.
Redland Tandoori – Bristol City CentreWhat a pleasure! My husband and I visited Loch Fyne to celebrate his birthday. It was a delight! The service was excellent and the food was first class. I can't wait to go back and would recommend this to anyone, of any age, in any size party. 5 STAR!
Loch Fyne Restaurant – Bristol City CentreBeen going to Don Giovanni? for years the chefs no there stuff the food is excellent give it a try you?l love it mr.n
