This was my second visit to The Olive Tree and a wonderful lunch was enjoyed by our 4 family members. The scallops starter is divine and the 3 course fixed price lunch chosen by one of our party was such excellent value. It was market day and the restaurant was busy. However, Service was prompt and efficient and there was no sense of being rushed. Wells is about a 45 minute drive for us and we have lots of restaurants which are closer. Nevertheless, I fully plan to visit again.

I came with my daughter and her partner. Who were full of praise for the lovely surroundings and excellent food. I have been before so I knew what to expect, staff were very friendly and as ever the service was exceptional. Will definitely be back.

Wow the best Mezze I’ve had inside of the U.K. I love a good Mezze but it’s so hard to find one in this country. This Mezze was easily as good if not better than the one I had in the Burg al Arab ( advertised as the world’s only 7 star hotel in Dubai) Amazing flavours paired beautifully with fresh home grown vegetables and homemade pickles. I’d work here for free just to be able to see first hand the amazing talent of this chef at work. We will definitely be going back here very soon. I can’t wait to try their lamb dish.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with good prices in this nice little restaurant just off the high street. Unfortunately the mussels were off the menu, but we both had tasty starters and main courses and my dairy-free diet was well catered for.

Always good but getting better and better

Sunday roast, always terrific value, great portion size and piping hot, very busy that Sunday but kept us updated on the wait with their customary great staff service ...

I live close by so often come here as it’s always reliably wonderful! I had the Olive Mezze and each item of food was delicious , salads , hummus, flatbread etc couldn’t fault it . Service was unobtrusive but attentive with a smile. Warm day so the sides were off and it was lovely and cool . Til next time OK .

Four of us dined at the Two Crows on Saturday night, our first time at the gastropub. We enjoyed starters, main courses, a desser and liquers, and have to say the quality of food and service was excellent. The owner looked after us from when we arrived until when we departed, two and a half hours later. The prices were very reasonable, and the ambience perfect for a leisurely evening of good food and drink.

Had a lovely brunch at the brasserie.. staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is constantly sensational!!

The Olive is a little jewel near Martock, Somerset. Us villagers from Chiselborough frequent The Olive a lot. Yesterday it was brunch with a friend, absolutely delicious! A couple of weeks ago it was girls lunch out, 7 of us thoroughly enjoyed our fresh food, our drinks, the service and the location. Next week it’s coffee. Last week it was coffee and cake at the sisters venue, The Old Dairy in Bower Hinton, near Martock. So lucky to have these places close.

We had good expectations of the restaurant but it actually exceeded them. The staff were lovely, the chef clearly very competent, and the restaurant smart but understated and relaxed. The food was imaginative and very tasty. The only criticism was that the aubergine caponata with the lamb was too hot & spicy for my husband's taste, it would have helped to make this clear on the menu so that it could be avoided and an alternative chosen. All in all, a very good restaurant.
