Visited while staying at the adjacent campsite. My wife and I both chose the Streak and Onion pie. Really rich gravy and tender beef. Maybe a few more vegetables would be good but overall a good portion which caused us share the excellent Eton Mess. Service was also very good.

The roast was delicious , plenty of food to eat. Lovely and friendly staff. will be coming again for sure. Thank you .

Although living locally in Abergavenny it was only early February we discovered this dog friendly gem! Have eaten here a few times now and booked for Christmas Lunch! Sunday lunch is devine, the staff very friendly and accomodating, with plenty of veg and gravy served from the off without the need to request more like many other establishments. Drinks are also reasonably priced. Great food, lovely atmosphere and excellent value for money!

Came here for Sunday lunch for a few months now excellent... Came for food last night was ok... Chips were hard and pie was like warm.... A little gutted.

Such a friendly welcome, gorgeous setting, beautiful atmosphere and the food was to die for! We all had the pie as its our absolute favourite, best pie for miles and miles by far.. Have been numerous times before and never disappoints, most definitely will be booking again soon.

Had the platter for 2 Sunday lunch which was as good as any Sunday lunch that I have had in the past.

We enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast here. It tasted lovely and there was so much food so great value. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The tables were spaced out to so you weren’t squashed next to another table trying to enjoy your meal. Nice beer garden, however it would be nice to see some more children’s play equipment. Will be returning.

We came for cooked dinner this past Sunday and all I can say is OMG! The food is absolutely exceptional, the service is brilliant. We had the sharing platter for two and it is well worth the price, we couldn't have dessert we were that full, even though we wanted too!! We would say that having a table just made for two and having a sharing platter and of course drinks does leave the table a bit snug for room. Having said that, that didn't take away from the absolutely exceptional service and food we had here and we will absolutely be returning and recommending to everyone

We had an amazing Sunday lunch yesterday at this venue.Everything was perfect from the beginning....service,food,etc. I would highly recommend the Rivers Edge and will certainly be returning in the future.Thank you

Brilliant first class food and drinks

My wife and I attended for Sunday lunch on the 19th April, we arrived early but were seated immediately and our drink order taken. A comfortable time later our food order was taken and without any undue delay our order arrived, the starter (pate) was delicious only to be followed by one of the best beef dinners I have ever tasted and the caramel cheese cake was equally good. The service was first class the food was to die for and the atmosphere was amazing. I do not believe I could have dined anywhere else for less. A great Sunday lunch, we will be back.

Excellent value all round. Food exceptional as usual. We had booked a table for 5 but unfortunately on morning of visit my dad was unwell. Phoned before hand and we were able to have a take out for 2 which was amazing. No trouble at all.

We ate at the restaurant on Sunday for the first time not knowing what to expect in terms of food quality and service. The food exceeded our expectations, service was excellent and the views from the restaurant absolutely stunning. Can't wait to go back again.
