Scalinis Restaurant – CardiffMy family and I visit the Treaerne Arms every Christmas ordering from their Christmas menu, 3 course for about £16. We have a wonderful time and the food is excellent. You will have to allow time to choose from their extensive dessert menu, I think there are more than 30 options - I haven't tried them all but every one I have tried has been superb. Although not really accessible by public transport the drive is well worth it.
Traherne Arms – CardiffIf your looking for somewhere to have a function this is the place, I was at a Wedding here a few weeks ago and had a lovely time, the meal was very good and they put on a very nice buffet at night, so if your looking for a nice atmosphere with good food try this very nice Pub, you won't be disappointed

Scalinis Restaurant – Cardiffvery cool fish and chips shop
Plowmans Lunch – PontypriddGood home cooked food, loads of choice from the menu very tasty, very reasonably priced, the staff were very friendly and professional, kids meals were very cheap they got an ice cream at the end of their meal and the staff came around with sweets for the children provided they'd eaten their meal. EXCELLENT!
Old Glais Inn – SwanseaI cannot say enough good about The Gallery. Everything was superb and although it is more expensive than your average restaurant that's because it is anything but average. I loved the food, the art and the general decor and cannot wait to return to sample their Christmas menu.
Gallery Restaurant Bar and Exhibition Space – BarryFabulous location. Good old fashioned ambience, a proper pub! Great to chill in the Summer and cosy to relax in the Winter, especially by the open fire. I regularly travel 100 miles plus to visit my favourite pub. The landlord, bar staff and locals are great as well.
Butchers Arms, The – Swanseai was happy that i chose this put to go to and have our dinner because they were trying there best to make us feel welcome and that the company was good. the children was nowhere to be seen because they were always playing with toys or in the park.
Cefn Hafod Inn – LlanybydderOne of the nicest restaurants in Bridgend area I know of. Quality food
White Horse Inn, The – BridgendThe food is good but the Big wedge chocolate fudge cake with ice-cream is a MUST have for all you chocoholics!!! Its the best fudge cake I?e come across so far....Its also value for money.
Hunters Lodge – BridgendThe staff were very polite and helpful as I hadn't been there before and they explained everything clearly to me. The food was delicious and the tables were cleared quickly and efficiently considering how busy the place was. I would definitely recommend this place.
Crumbs Salad – Cardiffi had never been to the Globe Inn before and was passing one day on work and seen it. looked like a nice pub and saw that the car park was full. i parked up on the road and went in to see how the place was so full, thinking there would be a birthday or special even, i asked this young barman was there a special occasion and he replied, "no sir, this is just a normal day, would you like to book a table?". This really surprised me that people had booked on a Thursday afternoon just to have food and got me thinking that the food must be good. i asked the barman when i could have a table, he told me that it wasn? really that busy on a Tuesday morning or evening, so i booked for me and my wife to have a meal on the following Tuesday night. the night came, our table was booked at 8, we were there for 7:30. funny enough the same young barman was there and he had remembered who i was and what time we were eating, he offered us to stay in the bar for a drink first, the atmosphere was lovely, very calm and very cosy, the pint was perfect and not to expensive, a modest £2.25. He called us through to the lounge for food, the tables were all laid up, my wife was very impressed and she said "I hope I don? ruin these nice table cloths" (typical of her) to cut a long story short, we had a main course and desert, the amount of food was perfect with a plate full and the desert was to die for. The meal came to under £40 with a bottle of wine, needless to say we have been going once a week since
