Convivio – ChesterGreat nite...great steak and great service!! Our server helped us choose wine and the food was easy.....steak all the way!!! I will definitley return next time I am in chester.
The Grill On Newgate Street – ChesterAbsolutely dire - saw the chef stiring the baked beans to go with my breakfast with his finger and then wiping his hands on a filthy tea towelOver priced at half the menu priceDont bother go to Swankys down the road
Hales of Chester – ChesterWent at the weekend for dinner with a few mates and the place was buzzing. We had some really good steaks and great service.....i always had a beer in front of me and the guys wine glasses were never empty. If you want a great night this is the place to go in Chester. On our way out the manager made a point of saying bye even though he was delivering drinks to a table....what a great place. Go whenever you get the chance.
The Grill On Newgate Street – ChesterDidnt enjoy this place, waitress spent most of her time outside smoking, food wasnt great either for the price we paid
Hales of Chester – Chesterwow wow wow will definitely be back on 27 november 2012
Hickory’s Smokehouse – ChesterAlways like to pop in for a coffee and a snack by the river at the Blue Moon, it is superbly located. I was pleasantly surprised to find Fish Stew on the menu this weekend, so stopped for a little late lunch instead. It was delicious, packed with fishy bits, and superbly tasty. Just like I expected a good mediterranean fish stew to taste like. I like it so much, I asked for the recipe :-). The farmhouse bake was equally delicious. Will definitely be back again.
Blue Moon Cafe – ChesterI visited La Fattoria in Chester on the 29th July 2013 to celebrate my birthday. My family and I were made to feel very welcome by the chatty friendly staff. We all had a three course meal and the portions especially the pasta dishes were very generous and the whole meal was exceptionally good value for money. I will definitely revisit this lovely restaurant.
La Fattoria – Chestervisited last month for family occasion!! decided to try sunday lunch today 05/08/12 it was nice on a family occasion but sunday lunch today was inedible! very disappointed! as a caterer myself i was appalled
A group of 11 of us went to the Bunbury for a colleague's leaving party. We were all very impressed with the quality and quantity of the meals served. The options picked ranged from a greek salad to paella, seared salmon, fish and chips and liver and onions. Everybody enjoyed their choices - freshly cooked and served piping hot. The waitress service was first class. A very good time was had by all and we shall all be returning with our own families. Well done the Bunbury!
Bunbury Arms – ChesterWe could not fault the service or quality of food we ate.My steak was done to perfection and my wifes lamb was beautiful her words not mine, I would recommend without hesitation 10 out of 10
The Dining Room at the Frog – ChesterOne star is being generous as I would happily give this place no stars. My wife and I ordered food (I had a jacket potato and my wife had a wrap). We waited for nearly an hour until one of the barstaff came to us and apologised, stating that our order had not been put through and that she will get the chefs to put the order through extra quickly. When our food eventually arrived my jacket potato was raw throughout, hard when prodded with a fork. I notified one of the staff, who apologised, asked if I wanted anything else. I ordered a wrap and stated that I was not prepared to pay for my order. The member of staff stated that I would not have to pay for the jacket potato. My wrap arrived after a further 20 minutes. We ate it quickly and then went to pay. My wife and I were shocked that we were asked to pay for my extra wrap, as there had been nothing wrong with it. I stated that the wrap should have been complimentary for our wait and the raw potato. The staff looked at me as though I had insulted them. After a moment of awkwardness, the lady in charge stated that she could only take 10 off the bill.If you want a decent pub meal with an acceptable level of service, I recommend that you avoid this place.
The Dining Room at the Frog – Chesteri would be very interested in receiving any special offers. Many thanks
1539 Restaurant and Bar – ChesterEaten here twice within a few weeks and ended up with food poisoning on both occasions. Had chicken wings to start on first occasion and the chicken was off. I sent it back and was told that the chef said it wasn't off! I think I can tell when chicken is off or not. I went to tell the barman in case they sold more to others. A few hours later I was violently ill. The second time was last night, I had scampi and thought the first piece tasted a bit odd but didn't complain, again I was violently ill when I got home. Its a nice place for a drink but please do not eat here.
Bunbury Arms – ChesterWent to their supper club night - 5 courses for £13.95, everything was delicious, you weren't rushed through the meal, or having to leave the table at the end of the meal, service was great, highly recommended
The Nags Head – ChesterGood food but far too often over charging for food. Approx. 15 visits and at least 5 times the bill has had items that should not have been there (normally £10 to £20's worth of items - so well worth the mention). Real shame.
The Gunnery Bar & Restaurant – ChesterApril 1st Just had a meal at the Bunbury Arms. On entering thought nice pub, and it is, barman pleasant said food was still being serves but only had roast chicken Sunday roast left. Sat down looked at interesting menu, saw a Sunday chicken dinner go past, looked nice so ordered two of those. After about 20 minuets our food arrived, chicken was fine, but rest of it was very poor, veg was over microwaved, not salted and tasteless and hard, roasts and Yorkshire pudding all that was edible. So we left most of meal. Shame as place was busy and as only a few minutes from home would have become our local
Bunbury Arms – ChesterFound Bistro Blu by chance after having lunch by the river at Blue Moon. Food was something of a revelation, how can this rather out of the way place get it so very right. The place was packed, no recession on here, but with the food on offer who could resist such offerings. My partner started with a Soft shell crab, never eaten this before but now a convert, I had mussels in cider again yummy. For mains I had Kleftico and as I am a Greek lover at heart it was superb cooked as it should be in a foils bag at the table, Partner had burger, but it was a rather large and very well cooked wild boar burger sitting on a shelf of smoked bacon and grilled cheese, served with huge chips.
Blue Moon Cafe – ChesterMidweek Menu: 2 courses for £15.
2 courses, £14.95; 3 courses, £17.95. Available Sunday to Friday lunchtimes (includes coffee).
