Found Bistro Blu by chance after having lunch by the river at Blue Moon. Food was something of a revelation, how can this rather out of the way place get it so very right. The place was packed, no recession on here, but with the food on offer who could resist such offerings. My partner started with a Soft shell crab, never eaten this before but now a convert, I had mussels in cider again yummy. For mains I had Kleftico and as I am a Greek lover at heart it was superb cooked as it should be in a foils bag at the table, Partner had burger, but it was a rather large and very well cooked wild boar burger sitting on a shelf of smoked bacon and grilled cheese, served with huge chips.

We have just discovered The Naggs Head and we had a lovely meal served by a very professional staff all of whom have been well trained.>I had a wonderful soup of tomatoes and red peppers with a hint of I think chilli, It was the best I have had for a while, Then I tried the local red Polli beef this also was cooked to my liking nice and pink, huge yorky pud and veg and pots well cooked. we will be coming again with friends, It a great venue,

My boyfriend and I visited Chester recently and stumbled across the gem of all steak restaurants. The New Blossoms Hotel hosts a steak and grill restaurant with a modern, contemporary feel. We were shown to a booth and ordered a very nice glass of shiraz. The menu included most pub classics such as fish and chips but we opted for steak as after all this is their speciality. I choose an 8oz sirlion, which was the special offer of the day, whilst my boyfriend the ribeye (his favourite!). Both were accompanied by home cooked chips, tomato, mushroom and watercress. We ordered a bearnaise sauce on the side and a mixed salad. The food was absolutely outstanding the steak was the best we have tasted by far. The restaurant was deserted, which was a treat as it was my boyfriend's birthday! The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be visiting Chester again even if just to visit the grille restaurant I would highly recommend this to anyone.

This is truly the best Chinese food I've ever tasted! Friendly staff and super fresh produce combine to give an experience worth a million dollars. it's not cheap but you get what you pay for in an easy-going setting. I won't go anywhere else when I'm celebrating anything.

Well this was the first time I've visited since it reopened having been recommended by neighbour. I ordered Chicken tikka I must say I've never had one like that in my life, the chicken was not cubed the veg chunky loads of tomatoes and peppers no curry type flavour at all, when I asked had I been give the wrong meal the lovely young lady said she'd take it back and check? was then told by a very rude man that's how they made it there from tika paste? the desserts were the saving grace of my celebration meal,

I have been twice recently to the Nags Head for a meal. Excellent food quality and service. Red Poll beef is excellent. If you just want a drink there is a lovely lounge area with comfy sofas and warm fire and TV if you want it.

Excellent Italian restaurant with a choice of various pizzas, pastas, salads etc. Good atmosphere, much more authentic than most. Service could be more efficient though!

What a Lovely Place to go! My self, my partner and our 9 month old came for food on the way to the Blue Planet. Such a warm cosy Pub. We had a lovely table next to the fire. The dinner was delicious, the service was perfect, helpful and attentive yet not over powering. We used a high chair for our Daughter while there it was exceptionally clean (not always the situation). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely be going back. Many Thanks for a Gorgeous meal and a lovely time.

Went down the river earlier today. The Blue Moon had tables outside by the river – in November! It was warm enough to sit out and we had lunch. The ‘boss’ had pork casserole and said it was lovely – I went for ‘freshly battered’ Fish n Chips with mushy peas and it was as advertised ‘the best in town’. Not expensive either even with a bottle of wine.Haven’t been here a while but we’ll be back. Well worth the walk and what a view.

Disapointed Customer !

I often visit this pub every few weeks mainly Sundays with my family for Sunday dinner as we live local. I haven't been there for a few months so i decided to take a visit yesterday with my daughter for Sunday lunch (10/10/11) I ordered 2 roast dinners 1 chicken 1 beef. We waited for 40 mins and it wasn't even busy but we waited patiently when are food did come out the hadn't give no cutlery the girl slopped gravy off the plate all over the table didn't bat an eye and left it i asked her if the menu had changed as there was no cali on the plate or mash in fact the plate looked half empty her reply was there is a new chef still never offered to take the dinners back to put it on and walked off the customer service from the 2 girls on that afternoon was terrible no people skills what so ever! the beef was all dry on one end and cold the roast pots were like bullets. the couple next to use then got there roast and what did they have on the plate everything including mash . Its just under a tenner a dinner so not cheap u pay for the food and service you should get it. Before i left i asked the staff for the manager to make a complaint there was no one to talk to they would have to ring him to come down . So i said i would make my feelings clear on here. Well what a same i used to really love going there for Sunday lunch but think will give it a miss from now on and wouldn't recommend it to no one now. Whether they were having a bad day its no excuse because i didn't even get a sorry !!!!!!!!!!

Worst food ever eaten. Terrible, just terrible place. Went to Chester for a day out with the family, fallowing advice of guy with and advert on the street, decided to eat at this Chinese place, couldn’t be more disappointed, the food was cold, look like if had been reheat several times, very rude staff when tried to complaint about, there was skin chicken on two or tree of the dishes, and to complete the menu a bite of a raw spring roll, that smelled like hell. after been there some of us were so upset about the experience that we decided to leave Chester early. Next day had to book a appointment with the GP, for my daughter, who diagnosed food poison. please don't even think about this place as a option to eat.

Upon our arrival we were indeed treated to a feast for the eyes-fantastic premises, decor and attention to detail in the interior design. Sadly, however, this is where the praise ends- a hen party of approximately 12 persons, we ended up waiting over forty minutes for our starter and then another 50 minutes from starter to main. Waitresses were asked to describe dishes and make recommendations, neither of which they could do. The manager was rude and aggressive actually leaving the hen close to tears. We had advised them that although we were not wanting to make a fuss, so as not to spoil the night for the hen, we were not happy. No amendment to the bill was made or apology offered. Another member of the party had taken medication upon arrival and had not ordered a starter. we advised the waitress of this matter, and again, no offer of apology or solution was made. The food arrived and was, quite frankly disappointing. Over salted, dried butterbeans that appeared to have also been waiting 50 minutes to get to the table accompanied my lacklustre duck. looking around the table the faces, quite accustomed to fine dining, informed me that I was not alone in feeling this way. I would definitely NOT recommend eating here if you are hungry,in a hurry or expect quality service.
