Excellent experience
Whins Green KitchenBreakfast on Sunday was fabulous. Welcoming & attentive staff, excellent tasty food & sunshine with a beautiful view - just perfect
Whins Green KitchenVerdes is our favourite restaurant: a wonderful family-run, classic Italian place, with some non-Italian meals as well, I noticed because my friend last night surprised me by ordering chicken teriyaki; she was very happy with it. Verdes taught me to get over my lifelong dislike of raw tomatoes by serving the most magnificent bruschetta; the olives in marinade are our family favourite starter, all the pizzas are exceptional, and the chicken in champagne is probably my favourite main course. The chef will also tweak things to your liking a little bit. The wine list is good, with a nice range of prices and tastes. The puddings are also excellent. I don't think I can find anything to fault, actually. Just wish it was on our street. The perseverance during the lockdowns has been admirable: the management have taken the opportunity to completely refurbish the place and it's nice and fresh-looking. Such a shame that they have been forced to close for so long.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyFirst visit yesterday, gorgeous place. Menu choice was excellent. Shared Wellington and Filo Pastry Parcel both delicious! Highly recommended. Lovely staff very friendly and accommodating!
Whins Green KitchenThe best Italian restaurant ever I would recommend a visit to anyone. Excellent food great atmosphere Excellent service very friendly. My son and I have been going there for quite a while and we've never been disappointed
Papa Luigis – ChorleyFood was delicious & it was so good to be back thank you to all the staff for making our meal so enjoyable
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyWe had a wonderful lunch here earlier this week. From Chorley it is such a pleasant walk along the canal to Whin's, and the al fresco dining was so wonderful, allowing us to take in the gorgeous views on a very sunny day. There was a little delay in getting served as they were very busy, but the waiting staff were very pleasant and helpful. There was a little bit of a mix up when we arrived - despite being booked in we had to wait to be seated, and then waited again at each stage of the process. There was some confusion about where to sit, were we told at first to sit anywhere, then told to go inside and ask at the counter, then offered tables outside. As it happened we didn't mind the service taking so long as we were having a leisurely day and the weather was beautiful. The food was wonderful from start to finish, and we absolutely loved being able to grab an ice cream cone for the walk home. It is such a rare gem to find a place as fine as this that caters for the vegan palette with such style, and we feel very lucky to have this on our doorstep! My only other quibble would be the price - had we not had the vouchers kindly given to me by a friend then our lovely lunch would have worked out quite pricey indeed - considering the lower cost of non-meat ingredients we felt some of the prices were a bit on the high side. However, we will definitely be back the next time we can justify having a treat meal. I would recommend Whin's to anyone wanting to try a healthy and tasty slice of plant-based cuisine.
Whins Green KitchenWe have been visiting Verdes since our children where small, they are now visiting with their children. We call it our happy place, all good food, service and value for money, we absolutely love it
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyI booked for 2.15PM as I thought I would have beat the lunchtime rush, but I still ran into a few problems. First off, the food is really excellent. Served hot, high quality, beautifully presented and good sized portions. I could not fault the food at all. Excellent. The atmosphere is very good too. Situated on a quiet road, the outside tables overlook some wonderful views. There was a wafting sewage smell every now and then, but it passed quickly. It didn't smell like the normal 'farmland' smell, it was hard to pinpoint. The service was poor. 30 minutes to order two drinks (an extra 10 minutes to get the second drink on the order), wrong drinks brought to table, 40 minutes to get a food menu. We were there for around 3 hours to get two plates of food, a main each. We did order tubs of ice cream on the way out though. From other tables, I overheard comments such as "we haven't had our starters yet" (as mains arrived) or "I keep asking for cutlery". It was disappointing to see a table arrive around 30 minutes after us, receive drinks, menus and their mains by the time we were allowed to order, but from the interactions, it appears they were either regulars or locals. It was surprising because by the 3.00PM mark, of the outside 15 - 20 tables, I would estimate 7 - 10 were occupied, so I can't even say they were rushed off their feet, but it was much busier when I first arrived. However, I should say that every member of staff I spoke to was very pleasant, friendly, engaged and positive. The lead waiter did repeatedly apologise for our delays and seemed to be doing the best he could. No one was rude or made us feel unwelcome. I thought the food represented good value for money. However the menu needs to be updated slightly as a milkshake is listed at £4.00 but on the bill it was £4.50. It's only 50p and I didn't feel the need to raise it as I wasn't sure how long I'd have to wait for a revised bill.
Whins Green KitchenThank you for this restaurant! Finally I found Amazing place with delicious food. The view is wonderful ! Staff is very friendly. the food was delicious. it looked insane on the plate. Everything is perfect. We will definitely come back here many more times! Highly recommend!!
Whins Green KitchenJust like the previous time we visited - wonderful! Which is why were so keen to come back so soon.
Whins Green KitchenHad another excellent meal at Papa Luigi's. The kids love the garlic bread and pizzas. An enjoyable tea with the family with super service as usual. Look forward to our next visit!
Papa Luigis – ChorleyBeautiful meal, amazing service, tranquil and warm setting could not of been better! Thank you Verdes x
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleySo good to be back and enjoy a meal out with family. All meals were the usual excellent standard that we have come to expect over the years at Verde's. Possibly a busy time so had to keep catching the waiters' attention, but this didn't distract from a superb time.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyJust love Papa Luigi's. Know we'll always have an excellent meal with excellent service.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyWe only discovered this restaurant during the lockdown, whilst having a leisure walk, but what a find! The service, staff, ambience, scenery and the meal it self, fabulous...Will definitely eat here again....
Whins Green Kitchen5 star food the kitchen is the shining light in the restaurant, service needs improvements in some areas like learning the menu your serving and not being aggressive with your diners when asking a question busy or not, but food quality outweighed any major negatives. Lobster ravioli was high class
