One of the best places in Colchester for breakfast. Staff are really friendly and helpful, food is great and the bubble and squeak is delicious. Have been here several times, including lunch where as a group of 20, we celebrated a significant birthday, the food and welcome never disappoints.

Met friends for breakfast.They chose the barn breakfast which was well presented very tasty & value for money. My friend & I had scone & cake & they were excellent. The only downside I feel is the vegetarian options are somewhat limited at lunch time

A lovely atmosphere. The food came out very hot and the staff were very pleasant, helpful and they came back to check on us after our food arrived.

A slightly disappointing meal. My husband and I both chose to eat the coronation chicken wrap. I asked for mine without coriander and was told it was already made up. I assumed they meant the coronation chicken mixture was already made up. I said it was fine, I’d just pick it out! My husband asked for his wrap without lettuce and once again was told it was already made up. We then realised they meant the actual wraps were already made. In which case, £12 is quite a lot of money for essentially a pre-made cold sandwich that isn’t made fresh. It came with ‘dressed leaves’ and nothing else. For the price, again you’d expect a few crisps or chips to be included. Everything tasted fine, just surprising they don’t make the wraps up fresh for each order.

Had a lovely lunch with my husband, for his birthday. Food very nice, as was everything else. Staff lovely too.

Good food present service and timely. Checked all was well but no left to our own privacy. My friend had limited choice because of an dairy intolerance, perhaps more choice for her on the desserts.

One of my favourite places to meet up with friends and share some lovely food. Relaxed environment, friendly service, just perfect!

We have been coming here for lunch for several years and always been happy with the food, Unfortunately on our last visit we noticed a difference, My friend is vegetarian which has never been a problem before. The selection now is very different, she was told she could have cheese on toast salad or chips !

Nice Saturday lunch, savoury tartlet was very tasty as was my other half’s Thai chicken burger although a lot of oil on it from the coconut sauce but was delicious.

Fabulous food (although expensive - never paid so much for a salad albeit a posh and very tasty salad). Busy atmosphere, inside nicely decorated with lights and outside had nice new furniture. Service, as always friendly and quick.

A true hidden gem! Set in the heart of a gorgeous garden centre, this café is my absolute go-to — whether I’m working away on my laptop, or catching up with friends. The food is fresh and delicious, the coffee spot-on, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. It’s the perfect blend of beautiful surroundings, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Love, love, love it here!

Booked the table for 13:00 but wasn’t taken to the table until 13:15 due to only having one person dealing with a queue of people in front of us. Took 20 minutes for our drinks and food order to be taken and the food arrived at 14:11. I appreciate the food is cooked to order but I don’t think having to wait over 80 minutes from the time we should have been seated is great. On the upside, the food was delicious and the serving staff apologised for the wait.
