Mawgans – Looegreat food, well kept local ales, friendly helpful staff, can't wait 'till i next visit the area
Lamb and Flag Inn – St IvesAbsolutely loved it! Will be going again. Everyone for so friendly and even though there were only two of us, when there were bigger parties staying, we were so well looked after. Food was amazing. Decided to eat in the first night - it was so delicious, we booked in for the next night, too!
Nansloe Manor – HelstonWe had lunch in the garden in July 2006. Although we chose simple fayer, it was of high quality and served by a beautiful intelligent young lady who originated from either Australia or New Zealand. We will return again this summer for the food of course!!
Juliets Garden Restaurant – Scilly IslesHad our second lunch here last week, both visits have been impressive. Last week my massive hunk of cod, pan fried with a tangy sauce and wedge of lemon was served with crisp fine beans and a light dauphanoise, excellent. Go and discover this place, a great addition to Truros eateries.
Bustophers Bar and Bistro – TruroThe best Balti in Falmouth by far. The decor is a bit dated, but the service and food more than compensates for this and the atmosphere is damn good too. Would recommend trying some of the Chef's specials: Chicken Shaslik, Gorkhali Chicken are both good and my own personal benchmark, the Chicken Tikka Masala was better than the others I have had in Cornwall. Beer is a bit pricey at £4 a bottle, but when you can get 2 courses and a couple of beers for about £30-£35 you can't complain. If you live in Falmouth, they will also do take-away. Long live Balti Curries.
Balti Curries – FalmouthThe Meadery is a real family restaurant with good honest food and lovely staff. The mead wine certainly blows away the cobwebs. If you want a good filling meal in a relaxed atmosphere i strongly suggest a visit.
Waterside Meadery – PenzanceThis is a pricey pub, but well worth paying for. The setting is particularly good. Directly outside is the beach - with a good sized patio to drink on, which is very welcoming on a hot summers day with the sea breeze. The inside of the pub is very traditionally decorated, with a real wood fir which was most inviting during my cold November visit to Cornwall a few years back! A must try for any pub goer!
Rashleigh Inn – FoweyThis is a very nice pub with a relaxed atmosphere. I visit Par every year with friends and have been doing for the last 6 years. We regularly walk past 2 or 3 other pubs to get to this one, such is the Quality of the place. Very traditional old building with low ceilings (sometimes a problem for tall people like me) but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The food is cooked to very high standard, we did wait a while but then again there were 7 meals to prepare, but again, all food was hot and cooked well. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the Par area.
Ship Inn, The – FoweyThe ambience of the place is exceptional. Whether your looking for al carte or simplefare, you'll find your thrill. Don't expect fast food, it's quality, as is the atmosphere. A very warm welcome if you stay in the surf lodge or the hotel. So great, i stayed longer than planned!!
Whitesands Hotel and Seafood Restaurant – PenzanceI would like to highly recommend THE BAKEHOUSE Restaurant in Penzance. The food, ambience and service are all superb and I think that this establishment deserves a wide recognition.
Bakehouse Restaurant – PenzanceWe visited this Restaurant during the summer, and I have to say that we had a lovely experience, The pasta and the seafood dishes were great and very tasty. We were also served very kindly and the atmosphere is great. So I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to eat out in Perranporth.
Del Mar – PerranporthWhat a jewel in the area. I was astounded by the quality of the cuisine and service at Tiandi which was more than a match for quality restaurants in London
Tiandi – BudeI would like to write the first review on Bustophers since its renovation after a recent night out there with my wife and daughter. That horrid dark interior has now been replaced with a fantastically stylish, bright interior - they've spent a few bob on it I would imagine. But I'm sure it will pay off because as soon as you walk in the door, this place looks the business! The greeting was somewhat disappointing however - the bar and waiting staff are dressed in a traditional French brasserie style, which would lead one into hoping the service would be of a similar fashion. However, without meaning to be unduly rude I felt that, after spending a whole evening being served by these people, they are all looks and no brains (except for one young man, whom I believe to be the manager - his service was courteous and knowledgeable). The menu was appetizing - there are many dishes on there that I would like to come back again and try. That night we had parfait and moules to start, both of which were delicious, then the cod and seabass off the specials board and the duck off the main menu. These were absolutely exquisite! The seafood dishes are by far the best you can get in Truro - so fresh and flavoursome, with sauces to match. As expected, the duck was fantastic too. We are so glad that Simon, the head chef, has moved to Truro as now we don't have to travel half so far to taste what we believe is the best cooking in Cornwall - my wife and I are two of his avid followers! The wine menu I must say is just as excellent as the food menu - some real thought has gone into matching it with the style of the restaurant's food. The brandy and cider range were good too. Finally, somewhere exciting for adults to go out to wine and dine in style. I would definitely recommend a visit! Ian and Annie
Bustophers Bar and Bistro – TruroWe loved it so much we dined there three times in the week we stayed on the Lizard! Absolute fantastic to enjoy real food cooked properly. Great ingredients - lots of local and organic produce - made into really delicious meals. Small menu (which I find reassuring personally) that changes daily. Fantastic vegetarian options and they were great about me being coeliac - even produced their own gluten-free bread! And I could have a pudding other than ice cream - a miracle!
Greenhouse Organic Restaurant – The LizardExcellent, delicious, well presented food in unpretentious surroundings. Hope to visit again.
Navy Inn – PenzanceWe had our staff do here, we had a Xmas menu which was lovely especially the veggie option. The staff could have been cheerier! The tables were set out with posh Xmas extras which went down well. The only downside were that our party were split up onto opposite sides of the room instead of together. I would really like to go again for next Xmas.
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceWe have been regular visitors to the Halzaphron Inn ever since Angela Thomas and her late, much missed, husband, Harry, and she took it over when they decided they needed a less stressful place to run than Nansloe Manor in Helston. Angela and her second in command, Mike, make the place run like clockwork, turning out excellent meals. If one could bottle Angela's ringing, operatic laugh, one could market it as a sure cure for the blues.
