A warm welcome received and great service given. We both enjoyed the Scrooge pie, which we had served with chips rather than mash. An example of how individual preferences are catered for.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFood, beer and service was usual high standard. Fully appreciate the financial pressures on the hospitality industry however, food prices have crept up to the level where as a retired person they are becoming unaffordable. Can I suggest maybe offering small plates so those of us with smaller budgets and appetite are able to continue enjoying this fantastic pub.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent lunch and service. Really enjoyed the lamb curry but I can’t recommend the rhubarb sorbet which tasted of soap!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA good meal in very pleasant surroundings. The potted shrimps were delicious, as was the Sticky Toffee Pudding and the choice of clotted cream is always a delight. Lovely staff, too. Worth a visit!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeSunday roast exactly as you would wish it to be! We were staying overnight and as always our breakfast was delicious. We will be returning again in the new year.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeI had the roast beef Ciabatta which was lovely but the salad that came with it was very uninspiring, just a few leaves, onion and 2 bits of pepper but worst of all no dressing.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad a lovely lunch at the Wheatsheaf yesterday, it was a birthday treat so expectations were high. We both had the cheese & onion pie which was to die for the pastry was so light and the filling was superb with exactly amount of onion & cheese, we finished off with a blackberry & apple crumble and a crème brûlée just perfect. The service was excellent the place was lovely and warm so I can highly recommend this place.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA double birthday celebration, so expectations were high AND were completely met. If I have a slight criticism, it would be the size of the apple and blackberry crumble portions, a little too big to finish.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAnother lovely family meal and our baby was welcomed too. Fab, attentive service, lovely food and cosy atmosphere, what more could you want. Thank you!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeVisited the Wheatsheaf for lunch with family. We had a lovely simple meal, that was well prepared and well presented. The staff were very attentive and it was busy so had a good vibe. Will definitely be visiting again

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeCalled in for a Sunday lunch on our way home from our caravan. I was a bit earlier than the time I'd booked, but I phoned them and they said they could fix us up with an earlier table. We had the roasted beef Sunday lunch which was fabulous, so tasty. We then had sticky toffee pudding, which was also lovely. I addition it's has a lovely atmosphere and pleasant helpful staff. I'd definitely recommend this place for a meal. We have been here many times before and they have never let us down.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe spent a lovely day& night at this very pleasant pub.The staff were so attentive & made us welcome as soon as we walked through the door, nothing was to much trouble to them. Our dog Jack enjoyed his stay also, there are lovely walks nearby & the food was outstanding in the evening & well what can we say about the breakfast ( has to be our best ever& we have travelled around Britain for years). Once again a big thank you to everyone at the pub/hotel. Ian& Karen
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent service - staff are amazing, fantastic, cheerful and helpful. Food is first class and the ambience is a great balance between being able to have a private conversation and a good pub “background”.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely place in a superb and convenient location. The venison stew was perfection. Definitely going ahain
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe have been visiting for several years now and I have always enjoyed the roast beef Sunday lunch and never leave anything on my plate. However, when we visited on Sunday, I was very disappointed with the vegetables. The roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips were hard and the cabbage had a strange taste. I left most of the vegetables. Has there been a change of chef I wonder??
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe visited the Wheatsheaf with 2 friends on Friday 7 November, prior to a visit to the Heron Theatre in Beetham. The welcome was warm as usual and service excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal - 3 of us went for pie of the day and 1 for the cobb salad (always a favourite). There was a very positive comment on the ale as well! Looking forward to returning soon.
