Fabulous food. It's the first time in 10 years I have had gluten free fish and chips, it was a real treat. Great atmostphere, will definitely be eating at the Wheatsheaf again - thank you.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA lovely atmosphere, staff helpful and smiling. Hot food selection limited but good. Sunday roast option could be better, but Beef tasty. Sandwiches fresh and tasty. Desserts good but expensive for what you get. Overall a pleasant experience
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGood food and nice atmosphere with a real fire and candles on the tables. Attentive staff - nothing was too much trouble.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat food & atmosphere after a super walk. Very attentive staff who looked after us. Morecambe Bay shrimps were delicious. My husband loved his Italian bean soup. We both had the pie mash and mushy peas. Delicious. We’ll definitely be returning
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe visited the pub for a meal on Sunday 13th February. Initially we were offered a table right in the doorway of the entrance door. The weather was cold, wet and windy so it was a terrible place to be eating a meal. We then were offered a better table in a much nicer area which was practically empty the whole time we were there so why we had originally been offered a dreadful table is a mystery. The food was dreadful. We both had the Sunday roast. Beef and the nut loaf. Both arrived in a pool of watery gravy practically swimming in the stuff. The nut loaf was awful, just a pile of nuts on top of mash and the beef was equally poor. We didn't bother with desert as we didn't want to stay any longer. A thoroughly disappointing meal. We will not be going back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely meal
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA fabulous overnight stay, the room was warm, cosy & great tv choice. The evening Sunday dinner menu is great value for money, staff very friendly and not over facing. The breakfast had a good choice, the poached egg & black pudding was cooked lovely. We will definitely be going back later in the year.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeConsistently good . Good food , service and ambience We love the friendly staff , the food , the room with the fire on a cold day and the fact dogs are welcome Best pub for miles!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeOur first visit for a very long time. At first, we were put upstairs, which we found a bit soulless but we were then offered a table downstairs. This was far better. The menu was very limited but two of our party had venison and two had fish and chips. We all rated the food excellent. Staff were very courteous and welcoming and though we took our time, nobody made us feel we should leave. Well done, everyone
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent food at a great price. We are vegetarians and were more than happy with the choices on offer. Delicious falafel burger.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe visit the Wheatsheaf on a regular basis. Love the food and friendly staff, especially Andrew who is always ready to have a friendly welcoming chat and advises us on the latest specials. Excellent venue.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat that the pub has reopened with lovely welcoming staff and a good selection of beers and ciders. So far I have only had the pizza from the menu as it is just sooooo good, and really worthy of a good pizzeria rather than pub grub. Well done all!
The Tavern At Hale – MilnthorpeNice to see the tavern reopen the staff are great and very welcoming. Had pizza which was fantastic looking forward to our next visit
The Tavern At Hale – MilnthorpeWe came for dinner on the Taverns first Saturday of opening up after lock down. The place was really busy and loud. We arrived early and shown to our table which was great... the reduced menu was presented to us and all the dishes on there sounded amazing. I chose the spiced carrot fritters followed by the breaded chicken with mac n Cheese. The fritters were the perfect combination of spices and perfect and the chicken was tender served with gorgeous comforting mac and cheese.i could fault them dishes at all. My partner had the black pudding scotch egg followed by the lamb. He assured me, and by the look of his empty plate that his meal was gorgeous. My son had a pizza and ate the lot.. The staff were lovely and obviously very busy but they were attentive without being intrusive which takes skill and all out courses were served in a timely manor. now for the negatives.. the noise.. there was a dog constantly barking throughout our visit. It was situated in the main bar with its owner who gave it the odd yank on the collar every time it barked but that did nothing to stop it. Other dinners also commented. I love dogs and have no objection to them being in a bar but I don’t want to listen to one yapping all through my dinner, they need to be well behaved. The other issue I found was children running in and out to the table near us... it’s not the pubs fault that parents don’t teach their children manners, I understand that. But to have them swing on mine and my sons chair every time they ran screaming past was a bit much. Again, not the pubs fault but it made the whole experience less than enjoyable. I would definitely go back because the food was beautiful and I never got to try the desserts( my partner was ready to kill the dog by this point) but we won’t be going on a Saturday evening.
